Not really, if you go heavy you fuck up your wrists, and the biceps are mostly fast twitch fibers, so you need to go heavy Far from ideal
@midnightflyer7510
@midnightflyer7510 11 месяцев назад
@@promo130 Gotta tell ya, I really think the fiber type comp varies among individuals. My bies have always lagged and for decades I stuck to the 8-10 rep range, occasionally as heavy as 6 with mediocre results. It wasn’t til about 3 yrs ago I started incorporating high reps of 15-20 that I actually triggered new growth and most notably great vascularity. I actually finally have very prominent cephalic bicep veins now so I can only conclude that in my case, I’m slow twitched dominant. My tries on the other hand respond well to 6-10 and have always dominated my arm size.

Definitely understand, and this is in my opinion, once you reach those pivotal last reps on the recommended rep range, and that’s if they are number 12,13,14 and 15, they should be the most concentrated, and most form corrected reps to ensure that at the point of muscle fatigue and hyper trophy, it utilizes the necessary mind muscle connection to grow and build strength.

Did ezbar curls today as part of my upper body deload week, deload weeks being new to me thanks to Dr.Mike introducing me to them in an earlier video. The way i did them was by flexing my lats out a bit so i can kinda leverage my arms against them like an arm blaster, and then i leaned back a bit, maybe 10 degrees, and just flexed at the elbow. What this did for me is it let me get some great range of motion, and a really good stretch with my elbows locked out, as if i were on a preacher curl setup, but while standing with my ezbar at home.

This actually makes a ton of sense. When I first hit puberty my biceps grew huge, but only my biceps. It was because that was when my parents had a wood stove for winter heating so several times throughout the summer I'd have 3-4 hours of just lifting logs to put in the splitter. Couple seconds of rest between each log. Now I'm finally to the point where I need to train biceps along with the rest of my physique, lol

First I'd say it's a good idea to consider a diagnosis from a doctor. It might not be tennis elbow, but it might be. Second, is to find movements that don't hurt and do those. Third, try the moves that hurt but go super super light (25% of the usual working weight) and do them for a couple sets of 5, 2x per week. At some point the pain will diminish and disappear, and then you can slowly ease into harder training for those previously painful exercises. - Dr. Mike

So happy I stumbled across this video, I have been working on defining my arms, and part of my regimen is to focus on form and momentum. I've seen others at the gym that do bicep curls with a swing or exaggerated movements (have me thinking I might be missing something here). But after your video I will focus on the grip and motion. When I do my bicep curls I feel like my biceps get in the way and the curl looks weird, well feels weird to me. I have also heard that "it's best to keep your elbows tight" vs "keeping them loose" for more of a range of motion, but I'm guessing that depends on the individual and their level of fitness?
