I have 2017 tundra TRD PRO and my brother in law just bought 2017 Lariat with that the turbo engine. My tundra v8 couldn't keep up with that ford and he also could tow heavier than my truck. I like my tundra but after test driving the 150,, my truck seem very outdated. I might have a change of heart. Thx for the video

My 07 Tundra with 250 k miles was starting to show its age. I’m pretty tough on my vehicle. Couldn’t wait for the redesign so I’m in the market for a new truck. Looked at other brands they all looked appealing except 1 thing. Reliability. Both independent mechanics in my town have Tundras. Both say they are built far better than the domestics. And I’d like to drive another 10 years or more with little issues “hopefully” so I bought another Tundra (2020) today. IMO If you want long term reliability I think the only real opinion is a Tundra.

Cash Miller my dealership had a few but I wanted one of the SX models (no chrome) in white and the found one for me. Retailed at 43k bought it for just under 37 after discount and cash back. Really like it so far. I’ve gotten as good as 19-20 mpg 55-65 “easy” driving. Interstate the other day 65-75 windy and running ac the whole time just over 17 mpg. (Pump to pump on all these mpg tests) If you get into the throttle you’ll be around that 15 in a hurry. Pulled my boat 3-4000 lbs got right at 15. Pulled it very confidently.

Inventory is still fairly low on the high end models. Toyota has shifted production to the more volume models and Tacoma trying to keep up. I believe the 2021s are in production right now, so may have to wait for one of them.

Toyota does an excellent job at understanding what half ton pickup drivers need and what we dont need. A lot more F150's will sell, only if they copy/paste the feature set that tundra has....it is the excess of unnecessary features which is the biggest let down for ford.

@JSS
@JSS 3 года назад
I agree.
@Annihilator105
@Annihilator105 3 года назад
That doesn’t make any sense at all. The Ford can tow just as much or more. it comes down to gearing and engine options. The frame is not a c channel in the f150 but a fully boxed. The tundra has the triple tech, which is boxed in the front, reinforced c in the middle and open c in the rear. Both trucks will be more then adequate for towing 7000 lbs easily, but that 10 speed makes the f150s job a bit easier at the task, and much easier unloaded at the pump. 3-4mpg difference on average.

@aronjohn84
@aronjohn84 3 года назад
@@JSS don't think anything. Until its proven then sorry. You build a engine that is ment to have a turbo. And I mean really have one built to handle the pressure.... fine. But you put extra stress on cylinders when this is done which break down is more prevalent. Especially when you want it to have the power and longevity that a v8 holds. v8's they are more reliable then what turbos are doing. So...answering your question...I don't care for turbos. Turbo goes out...well thats just adds to the bill and another thing that can go wrong. V8 FMS 8 speed trans. If Toyota does this well..might have to go back and reconsider the Honda ridgeline that's not turbo. The ram TRX is super charged. Not turboed. The chevys still have the v8 also. This is also why ford is going back to v8 in the Raptor. As far as the TRX and it was not built to save gas. Lol...it was built to wow. I’m sure it can, the Tundra made news a few years back when a 2007 model did it. I haven’t seen an article on the F-150 doing it.

Wow the tundra is such an ugly truck 5.7 rated worst engine for towing 😭 Anyone who has to use his truck for real work is not going to be buying a tundra 😂 Looks like they copied Ford in a lot of there design and that back seat good luck having an adult sit back there
