Good video bud. Another thing worth mentioning is that you can use the AIM-9 without the radar. If you switch it to bore mode on the SMS page then it will follow your HMCS. This allows you to lock and fire the AIM-9 completely silently. The bandit will get no RWR warning at all.
same, I somehow didn't know about it and was always fumbling around with OSBs to switch. for those who don't know the Missile Step button is also your Nosewheel Steering button. on real F16 it's an index finger button on the right side of the stick.
Do you still play DCS? these tutorials are really good. Im about 6 months into DCS, I've since got completely hooked and got into VR and loving the F16, Im referring back to these videos as much as chucks guides
Hmm this is weird then as when i do the exact same thing the missile step button simply chooses another AIM9x from a different pylon ... Ahhh its a push and hold for more than 0.5 seconds of the missile step ... sorted, nice videos dude really enjoing these bitsize vids.
HI. i have gotten this oval while on the ground. the second i take off everything goes wonky and it wont let me TMS up like i did on the ground. I am in dogfight, hotstart, slave , aim120, HMD on, what is going wrong?
If you have a HOTAS setup, TMS & DMS are Target Management Switch & Data Management Switch. These are sometimes unexplained in tutorials as their functions are assumed. Once, you learn TMS, DMS, SPI’s & ‘sensor of interest’ (SOI) it all becomes relatively easy. Keep at it mate, I was once where you are. ❤
