Man, notice the sway of this massive air carrier. With the ship deck and the oceans horizon (you can see it the clearest at time mark 5:08). Insane!!!! These pilots have no choice but to be professional's!
If you’ve never seen one of these fly then your missing out. These and other aircraft fly low over our house all the time here in Saltville Virginia through Poor Valley. Some are so low that it looks like you might be able to hit one with a rock. I saw an F35 make a turn one time and it looked like it actually had brakes on it. I couldn’t believe how it banked so slowly. They’re amazing aircraft.
@@realmofthesacredroots9960....absolutely....but is it only for married couples or open for all kind of night life? But yes serving on an aircraft carrier like nimitz is a life time experience it's really one of the few greatest things one can achieve in life. So obviously nightlife is a compliment. ❤🎅
I'm so happy that South Korea is an ally of the U.S. Hope our friendship lasts strong and trustworthy. Cheers to all our American friends and the servicemen!
tons of people standing around while they are capturing. Guy lining up the jet to the catapult shuttle standing right on the groove. Real smart ones out there.
Take a note. These videos are so much better without the annoying background music. Imagine being in college class and while the professor was speaking there was background music playing?
My uncle was there too, around that time. He retired in 2000 after serving on the USS Anzio. Cmd Master Chief William Robbins One of his stories that I remember was about Operation Eagle Claw in 1980.
will you give me a competent answer please to this question The jets that are based on US aircraft carriers are ownership of either US Navy or US Air Force?
@@cfromcass not while remaining stealthy, but if you don’t need to be extremely hidden it can carry just as much as a super hornet and still have more fuel. even with all the external hoard points carrying bombs it’s still more stealthy than a super hornet.
This video is precious! The "C" version of the F-35 is really the most beautiful one. Wider wings, very tough landing gear... A Beauty! A wonder in the life of a Naval Aviator!
+neil matthew palapala Bottom line we havent built a good fighter since the 80's with the hornet and the f16. Lets not forget nobody has ever shot down an f15 with another fighter. Scrap the f35 buy more superhornets, f16's, modernize the f15 and make more at 1/10 the cost to the taxpayer
It is amazing to me that they have made the landing gear and the airframe sturdy enough to take the punishment of repeated takeoff and landing on an aircraft carrier like the USS Never Imagined Myself In This Zoo (aka USS Nimitz)
To all the people out there who think they know it all here is some new info for you. The F-35 was developed for the new 5th generation fighters of the world. Now it is is designed to replace the F-16 , F/A-18 Hornet not superhornet and the A-10 Thunderbolt 2. Also people say the F-35 is not as maneuverable as the F-16 which is true but the plane was designed for BVR combat with missiles. Not close in turning fights. Also the F-35 has things that most of our current aircraft do not. Stealth. The ability to hide on the modern battlefield is very important. Another thing worth pointing out is that the aircraft has 3 main variants. The A version which is used by the navy to replace the aging F-18s. The B version is meant to replace the AV 8B Harrier 2 jump jet for the marines. The final version or F-35C is for the air force and meant to replace the A-10 and F-16. Also quit crying. You can voice your displeasure all you want but it won't change a damn thing.
+TheRobster2007 I never said it was a super plane. That irrelevant to what I stated and I'm not crowing about anything. I'm simply stating the facts that you don't understand.
Masters of Consoles Ah, but you didn't give any facts about the F35. I'm telling you to wait and see. Hell, maybe they'll actually make a decent plane in the end. I just don't see how with its fuselage alone. And your crying about others crying shows you are, as stated, a fanboy. Nice try kid. ;)
+Masters of Consoles you can have the stealth with electronic system too for cheap. for example rafale has a spectra system based on active cancellation .
These forums are filled with people who can't put together furniture from ikea without having problems but know everything that's wrong with this plane. lol
The f-35 has stubby wings which is shit for maneuverability but good for vtol, it has a fat body which creates drag, it's used for sanitized airspace, the plane that sanitizes the airspace is the f-22 but they only have 187 of those, you have to face the facts the f-35 is complete trash.
***** Huh? Did I ask for Americans to high five me? No, I didn't. Read the other comments before you reply. The only thing I was trying to point out was that Americans often say: "God bless America" and I asked: how about the rest of the world? Doesn't God bless Canada? Or Europe? Why always "God bless America" and not "God bless the world" or so? I don't understand why people feel offended by my question.
***** I'm not trying to offend you, but compared to gross national income the USA doesn't give that much aid... My country (the netherlands) gives RELATIVELY 3.5 times as much aid as yours: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_governments_by_development_aid#Official_development_assistance_by_country_as_a_percentage_of_Gross_National_Income_in_2013
I just want to come out and say that I'm trying to be unbiased as possible. My cousin flies the f-35C carrier variant, and he says the plane is incredible to fly. He technology in it is astonishing. But he also was talking about takeoffs. When he was launched from the catapult, almost all of his electronics went dark. He radioed in to the flight deck and told them to get the Lockheed guys out. They came out with a full service manual, and started going through procedures. Most of these did not work and ended up with them telling him to eject. He told them to keep going through(he was circling the deck while this was happening) until they found the right one. Once his electronics were up he landed the aircraft safely. It turns out the wire harnesses couldn't handle the g force from the take off.
people may judge the government for making such a high priced weapon (whole program is 1/19 of our national debt). However, it is one of the last manned aircrafts to be made; and I hope it lives up to that title. It is also a really nice looking aircraft
That is not accurate. The one trillion dollar figure is not the development money of this jet. That number is an estimate of all the money needed to maintain the jet ( that includes: spare parts, armament, fuel, and other necessities) until the end of it's lifespan in 2065. It was also calculated that maintaining and updating the current jets in U.S.A.F. and U.S.N. inventory, that F-35 will replace (the F-15, F-16, F/A-18 with all its variants, AV-8B Harrier II, and the A-10), will cost the U.S. 4 trillions. Also in a recent exercise the F-35 won 8-0 in dogfights against the F-15 proving itself as a very capable jet.
I am very angry at our government (Obama) for letting this $400 billion boondoggle continue. You might label me a hater, or maybe not. But listen to facts: The F35 lost a dogfight in a wargame exercise to the plane it was supposed to replace, the 30 year old f16, due to its energy disadvantage (power to weight ratio). After this scandalous result, the pentagon tried to rationalize that the F35 electronic warfare is so advanced that its energy disadvantage vs other modern fighters is a moot point. The enemy craft should be destroyed before it can come close enough to dogfight! So in other words, this plane just became a small, very expensive AWACS plane. There is also the matter of the F35's 3D virtual reality helmet, which costs $400,000 apiece and malfunctions when there is turbulence.
You have to think of this aircraft totally differently. It is a flying stealth sensor node that enemy aircraft literally have no defense against. They can’t see it, can’t target it, can’t shoot at it, would be lucky to shoot one down.
I can't wait until this thing hits active VFA squadrons. I used to absolutely despise the F-35 program, but I slowly came around to loving it. I don't think the Navy could have asked for a better aircraft.
TO ALL THE F-35 HATERS I GOT MY FIST CLOSED AND MIDDLE FINGER UP FOR YOU...THIS JET IS STATE OF THE ART... YOU CAN HATE IT ALL YOU WANT BUT WE HAVE IT SO DEAL WITH IT...
State of the Art at what? Being Stealth? Dog Fighting? Stovl?? It does some cool stuff, but it needs to actually be a jet fighter besides the gimmicks. It is supposed to replace ALL American fighter jets A10, f15, f16, f18, f22 and Super Hornet. But it been has proven that it cannot REALLY replace ALL of these jets--some of the older jets are still better at their specialty than the F35.

F-14? A scout? What the hell? The F-14 was a long range interceptor, meant to shoot down Soviet bombers before they could fire their cruise missiles at U.S. carriers. Even for a reconnaissance (not "scout") role, the F-35 is superior because of its low radar cross section and a combat radius 40 nmi greater than the F-14. I like Top Gun too, but it doesn't make you an expert on naval aviation.
Well said Tsarbomb117, people often have a romanticized infatuation with certain technologies and tend to remember only the best attributes of said technologies while forgetting all of the problems and inadequacies. The F-35 program has had many cost overruns and received extremely negative media attention, often spearheaded by the luddite Pierre Spray. After objectively analyzing the specifications, capabilities and upgradability of the F-35 variants and comparing them with other aircraft both historically in-service and available as potential alternatives, the F-35 is very capable and has been a good choice for the U.S. armed forces. Another fallacy I see people engaging in online concerning the F-35 is in their comparison of the F-35 with other technologies that it will not likely be engaged with in combat, or at least in isolated scenarios, such saying the F-35 is "a piece of junk" compared with the Sukhoi T-50/PAK-FA or any number of other aircraft that fulfill totally different roles and or won't realistically ever encounter the F-35 in a one-on-one dogfight. Also, the F-35 has necessitated development of entirely new military strategies, these birds are meant to be flown in great numbers, fighting in large packs, as highly-networked, highly communicative, low-profile A2G, A2S, CAS, CAP missions. The F-35 is truly to be feared when there is a pack of them teaming up on a target while remaining mostly undetected.
Love my fellow crew be safe , thanks for you great service. Don't be stressed out . I know I being there it hard. But we are got a job to do. Be safe don't kill yourself we all need you . I commit to defend this great nation for 20 year's you all can do it too. Love you my fellow navy sisters and brothers. Love you all ..
Remarkably stable on approach for recovery compared to the single-engined F-8 Crusaders and A-4 Skyhawks I saw from '66 to '69. (Recovering in a F-8 was not for the faint of heart, for sure.)
2serveand2protect Maybe they shouldn't do any flight testing to get your approval? Im sure you know way more than the DoD and all those aerospace engineers
Robert Brockway ...ok!...and now go and learn four languages more - then come back and repeat it to me!... ...until then - you want me to tell you how much I care about your so-called "opinion"? :D
Robert Brockway ...SURE they are, "brokenway"!... :) ...I got "ONLY OPINIONS"... ...YOU got ALL THE "FACTS"... ....and A FACT is that when you'll learn 4 LANGUAGES MORE I WILL LET YOU CALL ME "IDIOT" - by then - GET LOST! ;)
I love seeing the planes take off in line no matter what aircraft carrier is but for some odd reason knowing but these great planes take off and land americraft carrier named after I want the best Camrose of our second World War those make it a little special and a light smile does come quicker to those who remembers why a carrier was named after this gentleman

+Geminijets NewMexico Even the technical data of the plane and statistics which you can view in 2015 make some of the points made from 7-8 years ago obvious.
Adam15197 Well the technical data shows that this plane has a great T/W ratio, unbeatable acceleration, a very high angle of attack, and of course its stealth. I know this plane is not perfect but its not bad. I think it will fit in just fine in the Airforce. maybe by the time it enters they decide to keep all there planes.
