I wonder if Professor Smalls knows why they started intel on Malcolm X while he was still in prison. That part really shocked me. They knew what Malcolm was going to become before he did. How was that possible?

Ignorance is wide spread!!!! The only issue I have with Dr. Smalls is that he has very little knowledge about Islam. People can go to Mecca and hold the title of Imam but be a very ignorant person. As a historian he is on point! But just like our brother Malcome, his knowledge is very weak about Islam.
Seems like the interviewer had not done enough research, reading, and studying on his own before the interview. Many of his questions about Malcolm are general knowledge of those that know anything about him.
Many times the interviewer, althoughnot always in the best way, wants the knowledgeable guest to break what he is saying down in layman terms for you, the viewer who may not know the history nor the vernacular...

Whenever Honorable Malcol x is mentioned , I wish people also remember his older brother. He has a big role in helping Malcolm stay on the right track in the early days of his release from prison. Malcolm stayed in his brothers home and the brother got him a job where he was working. And would take him to meet Mr. Elijah Mohammad. I do have a lot of respect for him. Its like he gave the world Malcolm. There are many who helped Malcolm , Elijah Mohammad , and the man in jail bembi ,who pointed him that he got some brains and he musr use it , and his sister who got him transfered to correctional system that had debates etc that made him the great orator.so Malcolm was helped by many and he did help many many.Thank God for giving this world Malcolm.
You are correct. But although Wilford his oldest brother joined the Nation first, and began recruiting his siblings, his brother Philbert wrote him in prison but not wanting to say too much because he knew Malcolm had little tolerance for religion at that point. But it was his brother Reginald who went to the prison and spent the entire two hour visit talking to him about the Nation that kind of won him over. So yes he had a number of people in his life that often are over looked, whether intentionally or not. As Salaam Alaikum!!
Though I respect what "Prof. Small" is saying, however, he keeps saying, "Hoover said ...do something about Malcolm X". Elijah Muhammad gave a similar order. The difference was Mr. Muhammad wasn't as direct as Hoover. Elijah spoke in scriptural terms in regard to Malcolm by saying..."we must get rid of our hypocrites the way Moses got rid of his". Now surely the curse of Allah is on the wrongdoers," One of these lies that Malcolm forged against Allah is that His Messenger allegedly never taught him that there are white muslims too, and that he (Malcolm) was so surprised to see white muslims when he visited the Middle East in 1964. Fact # 1 1964 was not the first time Malcolm X was in the Middle East! Messenger Elijah Muhammad already sent Malcolm as his ambassador to the East in 1959. In summer of 1959 Malcolm has left for Holland. Travels from there to Egypt, Mecca, Iran, Syria, and Ghana as Elijah Muhammad's ambassador. So why was Malcolm so surprised to see white muslims again on his second trip 1964??? Why wasn't he so surprised when he made his first trip??? Fact # 2 Allah who came in the Person of Master Fard Muhammad and His Messenger have been teaching PLAINLY that some white people are muslims (by faith) too. Messenger Elijah Muhammad said, quote: "Good done by any person is rewarded and these white people who believe in Islam will receive the Blessing of entering into the Hereafter." (Our Saviour has Arrived) "I said, This (white people being devils) doesn't mean that every white person is going to be killed on that day, no. Many will survive that day, but they will go back to their own like the Turkish people. They're not going to be killed, because Allah told me that they would not. They've been trying to practice Islam, though they are white people, they try to practice Islam and are Muslims." I remember James Smalls coming to Trinidad to lecture 25years ago.And I was a kid back then . I don't remember much else besides him saying he's a Muslim. The Ella thing, I thought it was common knowledge that she helped Malcolm X positively as a youngster.There was no doubt that the N.O.I and Malcolm had tensions ,even if the FBI and CIA wanted him dead.

Malcolm x in life influenced and improved 1000's of human lives. In his death he continues to improve tens of 1000's of human lives. Just reading his autobiography written by Alex Haley is enough to get transformed into a better human being.
