F-One ML board review (90L)

I'd def consider the 78L for myself, but was so pleasantly surprised on the feel of the 90L. you are right on, def a great design and choice for racing. stoked to hear you dig it, and stoked the 78L seems to line up with the 90L I wanna try one now! thanks bud, I wish you an awesome weekend!

The Army ML is a completely different design concept not very comparable to me. The F-one ML is a knock off of the Amos Sultan Wing specially narrow with straight line vertical rails for ease getting up in the lightest wind.

thanks so much as always bro! I was riding the sk8 1150 this past week and I can't believe how fast I can get it to go. Maybe I've just been so used to smaller foils, but the thing is so nice. I'd agree, the 8-ish AR is def a sweet spot. but smaller high aspects that have near the same lift are pretty rad too. and good to know about that deck pad. I'm gonna say I've become more used to it in the last few sessions. but one of my early sessions I had to take my booties off cause it was way too slick, I think it's actually gotten better. Sup bud! Sorry to leave you hanging. Big hello to you and your wingbuds in France! I don’t know much about the construction. You can see carbon both on the underside and deck through the paint, although it doesn’t go all the way to the nose. I don’t know about what kind of carbon it is, or how thick or how they applied it. I can say that I have an Armstrong ML and it’s already cracked on the rail. So it’s a reminder to me how fragile it all can be. My last FG board I’ve repaired over a dozen cracks over 2 years of use, so I’m not the lightest user. I figure with my luck I’ll break anything I ride, the question is how bad. I’ve seen my friends Blackbird and im sure I’d break that thing too 😂👊👊 I’m prolly not helping. But I guess I can’t really say anything that would help you out. I’m considering getting a 78L if that helps! I like the dimensions of it. Good luck and I wish you an awesome day!!

thanks bud! appreciated!! yeah I'm trying to get by with my ML as my main board this year, I think it's gonna work fine. I still have a sinker that I just don't ride much anymore... I don't have the urge to be on super small stuff at this point in my progression. but if I could do it all again, this ML seems to suit my style a little more than the Armie board. And I'd prolly stay with the 90L. It's a good size for me at 77kg and the Jeremy from a year ago totally can't believe future Jeremy just said that! lol, thanks again bud, I wish you an awesome weekend!

I was using Duotone Style 4'11 - 75 l a lot lately , very nice board, and I just bought F One midlenght 5'8 - 78 l for lighter winds. I have 3 sessions on midlenght and it feels great. If I had to choose one it would be midlenght. It accelerate faster, has better low end, and feels like shorter and wider board. My local spot has lots of light winds so I will have more winging days on midlenght.

sup bud! I weigh 77kg. I own a 75L Armstrong ML and it's enough to float me, but this 90L felt small (in a good way) and totally normal. it' didn't feel too big for winging, the extra float was nice. you could probably go either way but if I owned one, I think it'd be the 90L FOne.

ahhhhh man that's a tough one. I'm considering the 78L F-one. the rail on my ML cracked so I have a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth on it, but they are fixing under warranty. the Armstrong is light, but a little longer than the FOne. the FOne is 100% designed for winging, the armstrong more of a crossover with surfing, but I dont really prone so that's kinda moot point. the Armstrong feels a little faster to get up to speed, but the FOne design is really good and it rides like a high performance wing board. can't decide yet! I just got my ML back so I'll be riding that and thinking hard in teh next few weeks! thanks bud, I wish you an awesome weekend!

dude I did ride it once it waves, it's sooo nice. and speed testing with that and the 200 tail blew my mind. I've gotten it to 27.2mph. granted, I got the 850 to go to 29mph ripping down a big wave, but to get the 1150 going that fast on the flat! woot woot! really impressive that it can do that and turn so nicely too. I'm stoked on the sk8s. more on those soon... I'm still trying to figure out how to cover the foils in a video. thanks bud, I wish you an awesome day!

yeah def a wing board. I've since read some of the FOne marketing about the ML and it's def not designed for anything but winging. the Armstrong stuff, they are def going for multiple genres. but I'm not sure if I'll ever prone it, but the possibility is there for a wind-less day I'm super bored. as for being nimble... they both feel nimble to me. there are a lot of parts of the 90 that feel like the 75. so it's been weird. unfortunately my Armie ML is getting repaired so I haven't had it compare. they are both longer than what I'm used to, but you can crank harder turns than my older board that was pretty wide, that's where I'm feeling the difference. the swing weight doesn't really feel like an issue to me.

sup bud! yeah I rode in all different conditions. I think it's really stable, as long as you are moving forward a little bit. it's made for winging. the 90L has a good amount of float for my 77kg which just makes it easy in general. and I have decent foil SUP experience, I wouldn't consider myself THAT good but I've been doing it for a few years when the conditions align. that said, I've paddled this thing on two separate sessions, and those were def more challenging to balance on cause I was standing on something that didn't have a lot of volume or length compared to my DW board. but it's not made for SUP. I think for winging it's stable.

sup bud! I think that 90L would work. I'm considering getting an 78L at this point for myself, I'm 77kg. I don't mind if it mostly floats, cause as soon as you get going it will ride higher in the water and be more efficient. it depends on how easy you want it to be. if you really want the BEST lightwind, the bigger will probably be better. but the 90L would be a good mix for everything. def personal preference, but LMK what you end up getting! thanks for the comment bud I wish you an awesome day!

Sup bud! Yeah, from what I can tell they are compatible. The only thing, the FOne T nuts I’ve been using lately are kind of jagged where they press into the track, the Armstrong T nuts are flat. That may not be a big deal, but just pointing it out.

sup bud! glad you share some of the same observations! yeah, the 90L is prolly too big for prone. I feel like I could prone my 75L Armie board, but it's def a thinner design and I suck at prone so I could be wildy off. I tried paddling all the FOne stuff and my skills just aren't' there, although I did feel close on the 1000 and 1150. I kinda wanna try the FOne stuff on my dw board. my Armie ML is in the shop, the rail kinda failed and it's being fixed under warranty :( but it's been a good month to be without it! I jumped with the 90L the last session or two and it was really nice landing and then taking off again. didn't feel too big, but was a little more awkward in raleys but my footstraps were a little loose. thanks bud, I wish you an awesome week!

Yeah dude!! Great job ur doing!! I’ve used SS 1000&1400 but looking for something in between @90-95kg😅😅😂 To SUP foil and wing.

the 75L is partially sinking on me, which is a little more difficult in no wind IMO. so the 90L is better there, but it is taller, so slightly tippy but really not enough to be a noticeable pain. I'd rather be standing on the 90L without moving. it's easy.

PS the deck pad on my 2024 70 litre also can feel a little slippery...lovely for feet swaps but occasionally you can slip when getting up (i guess could add some surf wax)

sorry bud I lost track of this comment! for your weight, you could def do either the 90 or the 105... if you were thinking about paddling, then the 105 is probably the way to go. I personally don't consider myself a good SUP'r. but I've had a few dozen session on foil SUPs and I'm not terrible. if you have waves that are big enough, like 3.5ft, then paddling this onto them shouldn't be hard. the dw board in the past year has helped my paddle skills, so I can pretty much paddle straight without having to think of it. but you can def practice that on flatwater and be ready for waves. the guys at FOne were surprised I SUP'd it, it's def wing-oriented design--wise. I have not tried one of their dw boards. just Armie boards and some KTs. not a ton of thoughts on the rocket. I have a 48L Rocket and it's so different size-wise (like half) so it's not comparable. I haven't been on bigger Rockets. I have 4 foils they sent me, and I think what I'm gonna do is talk mostly about the ones I really like, which is the Eagle X and the SK8 1150. I have only just started thinking about next weeks video, but that's the current plan. so you are in luck! and good to know about the deck pad! I don't hate it at all, but one set of booties was super slick to the point I took them off. anyway, thanks so much for the comment, I wish you an awesome weekend!

sup bud! stoked you dug it. I only have the 1300 seven seas right now, and I've only ridden it twice under wing power and tried to paddle it with the ML but I just don't have those skills. I hope I can get out and paddle with it on my dw board before I cover the foils. it's a great foil for sure. but my style is gravitating to the sk8 and eagle x. so I'll see how much more time I can get on it. thanks, I wish you an awesome week!!

sup bud! always great seeing your comments :) I'm 77kg, so the 75L Armie is on the top of the water, but most of it is slightly under the surface until you get some forward motion. so I assume the 78L would be close to the same for me, but the fact it's more condensed, it probably floats a little better. that said, the Armie has potential to get up to speed quicker. I think the 78L was like 2 inches shorter than the 90L, and 19 inches wide vs 20. the 78L is 5 inches shorter than the Armie 75L, so for an all arounder, it may be nice to have a little less length. but less width will make it a little more tippy. I would have loved to compare the two back-to-back. I love my Armie board, but it's currently getting repaired (under warranty) cause the CF on the rail randomly cracked. I love their designs but I'm a little bummed that it cracked on it's 4th session. that's my usual luck though. I personally think the 78L would be enough for your weight. I haven't seen the F-One's volume recommendations before, but I guess this 90L is right on the money for that +15. for you it could really go either way. I think if I had to buy one, I'd go with this 90L cause it's easy. I see my friends struggle half the time with their 50-60L boards and I'm not really into that extra effort. There will be another review beginning of next week about the f-one ML. I guess as you said the armie is more the surfy style. The F-one the jump-once-in-a-while-do-it-all. I might really go just 8l above my weight. 90l would be the safe option but I m concerned about getting the board in the car as well. I’ll see. All the best!

I can see that, but I was on the 90L which in ways was way bigger than I’d usually ride and it was pretty decent in light winds and at my flatwater spot. If I bought one for myself (heavily thinking about it) I think I’d go for the 78L which I expect would not be as good to get up in lighter winds.
