2 things are essential - a proper license system that punishes rammers, brake testers, etc in ranked and secondly proper anti cheat mechanisms with perma bans

F1 23 was the first title in the series since playing 2010 that I decided to skip, just didn't feel they were adding enough to the game to justify a purchase. With the earlier release date I would be surprised if they are moving engine, I would guess another reskin of 2015 and there are no new tracks this year so will sit out another year and wait for a proper refresh.

here it is, what esports needs, I think it is super cringe they are not playing cockpit cam, and I think it's very lame they dont have full damage, yes I know sim damage is kinda bs but still, these are pros that are playing this arcade game in even more arcade way. Watching the players just drive and don't care whether or not they might crash is not fun at all.

They should’ve aligned the release of the game with the start of the season. Nobody wants to hop on the latest game and play with last seasons drivers, liveries for the cars

Ue as a game engine isn't a great choice tbh, it doesn't like loading assets+ has very aggressive lod management. All things that a racing game doesn't need and it also stutters a lot. PC performance might be dreadful

I actually preferred it when the games released at the end of the real season (b4 they got so long). It gave the devs time to get all the car liveries and tracks right, and the league racing was filler over the winter break.

Unreal engine is a bad choice for a racing game imo, just look at WRC game optimization... Looks worse than Dirt Rally 2.0 unless you are on ultra settings, which a lot of people can't run

Wont have anything to do with the esport. EA release fifa just after the season starts every year to maximise sales... so make sense to do it with f1...25 will be an april release. esport will just follow along, which will increase sales but not as much as just moving the release date to the start of a season

1 Thing i think too little people talk about is the F1 game matching the real season. Realistic car performance and career mode experience might be insanely off compared to real life... Car Performance in modern day F1 is impossible to predict. And the game would need a lot of updates and patching matching the real life car and driver performance. Realistic car performance just can't be... Realistic.

a new engine is the most important thing, make it finally look like next gen. the games are good but always the same. i dont think early release is a good sign, maybe catching some guys before the championship is won by max in june to keep it exciting.

As much as I love the F1 game. Ive pretty much had enough of them. The devs, the actual F1 organization for being greedy and shutting down the Pro Series. Bc they dont get a return. They made a Billion just of the Las Vegas race. Companies spend millions and some billions on advertising. They couldn't just put that very small payout(relative to other esports like LoL, DOTA2 payouts. Much, much larger. Like the last payout for LoL was $27 million for the tournament.

You do not want Unreal Engine in a racing game. WRC's performance is an absolute pile of crap - stutters and frames drops everywhere. It's a credit to Kunos that they managed to wring the neck of UE to get ACC to actually perform, but this took years of "neck wringing".

They will never try to have the F1 games as a sim racing game, it will always be arcade to appeal to controller players. You can't have a good time playing Iracing, Assetto Corsa, Rfactor or any game like that without a wheel and pedal setup.

I just want them to remake Spa. It's so inaccurate to the real life version it's almost undrivable for me, and I swear has been the same 'wrong' model since 2013. I know Codemasters are lazy and incompetent, but for the love of god update Spa. Also a proper livery creator for My Team, none of this premium store bought bullshit. Plus pre-season testing as part of the career would be great. All too much effort for Jokemasters, unfortunately. F1 23+1 it is then.

if they continue not to want to use a new engine it will be another flop yet another copy paste with related bugs of an obsolete game that is not worth 80 euros just for the updated liveries is not the right path as far as I'm concerned it could remain in the shop windows if that were the case. ....Esport we can also do without it they run with ghost Reduced collisions surface not real low fpa compared to console that is not f1 and game between friends obviously personal opinion

You will be surprised but the engine in F1 has always been EGO!!! This is a personal development of Codmasters since 2005... All they do is create mods for the EGO engine. For this reason, EGO disease is present in every F1 game and beyond. Almost every game on the EGO engine. I can only say that this is the best engine for arcade games. And as for F1 2023, this is the worst series I've ever seen. I barely forced myself to play 23 hours in literally a year. In f1 2022 (600 hours) and I really liked it but F1 2023 is 💩💩💩💩. In F1 2021 (550 hours) F1 2020 (700 hours) there was Covid and there was a lot of free time. But in F1 2023, even if I had unlimited free time, I still wouldn’t play more than 20-30 chats and delete this horror forever.
