The funniest part is, if you go drive the F2 cars, the handling feels really close to 23. Which makes sense in the sense that those cars haven’t been updated yet.
I can definitely feel a difference especially in 3rd-4th gear corners. I was the world record holder around Imola last year and this year I’m about 6 tenths off the world record purely because the car is too snappy and the braking is weird on controller
I think they should just go back to the 2023 handling model with just some few tweaks. Other than that I think it'd be perfect, I quite enjoyed F1 2023 handling.
They will never fix the whole handling issues. You have to remember they sell this game every year and every year they need to have something “new” to advertise
We need to stop listening to influencers. All they do is ruin games. Like f1 24. Devs need to stop giving streamers games. They shouldn't even communicate with influencers. They are a micro section of gaming. Their opinions shouldn't matter.
You wanted the old handling model? You have seen the insane wheel lock and the car practically snapping whenever you turn right? This is an f1 game no ridge racer, if the content creators didnt step in, this would be renowned as the 2nd worst f1 game ever (from coddies)
Do you think they will patch the handling again or is it final now? I'm asking because I want to know when I can start making/figuring out my setups :)
Ranked multiplayer has also been changed to 5 laps instead of 25%. So no pit stops or tyre strategy. Basically just a competitive time trial. If i had known this i probably wouldn't have pre-ordered the game. Its all done to just fill lobbies quicker.
I agree...Just gave it a try. The difference is definitely noticeable, but I expected more tbh. Maggots, Becketts at Silverstone still feel weird and "too easy". Copse as well, the car just flongs into the corner in an arcade way imo. It's better, but I still feel like it could and should be tweaked a bit more.
It's driving in the wet we need help with , thing is Force feedback, to much or to little on your wheel can have a huge effect on handling. But no one seems to cover it.
I agree that laptimes in game should be a lot slower, some corners are too easy flat and ruins some of the realism when comparing to the real life times.
As a casual gamer I definitely appreciate the input of such amazing drivers as you Brendon, I would like the best F1 game possible. I do however say it worries me a bit if they reduce the grip much more, that we casual players will have huge problems with spinning especially in slow corners, F1 22 was absolutely impossible for casual players for example with how easily you could spin.
I think sim times should be no more than 0.5 to a second faster than a real life pace, they should be faster due to how much risk and time youre allowed to put on a sim, while having authentic physics, that should allow faster times, but not by too much, then it becomes an arcade game
Yea I agree but it's actually very difficult to do because lap times are very dependent not only on air and track temperature but other external factors. They could try and bring them in-line but they'd have to adjust the physics of the game in order to achieve this. So I agree, but can also understand why it would be a huge technical challenge.
@@LukesHardware some sims can do it, but what it means is EA would need to stop being greedy with releasing a new game every year, while making the game arcade, it just looks like they want to cater to casual who would be discouraged by a difficulty that real sims provide, seems like a pure cash grab to me
@@dubby_owDude, ACC alien times are more than 2 seconds faster than real life... In GT3 cars btw... So no... All sims are faster than real life cause in a sim the racer can exploit things consistently while in a real life race getting to the finish line safely is way more important... Lap times will never match real life...
Hey Brendon! You might need to turn down your game volume like a half decibel or less in editing. Not sure if anyone else agrees but when i watch away from my phone on max volume your engine drowns you out a little. Awesome work yet again though. You’re the man. This channel will continue to skyrocket
In case you read this. Don’t turn down your volume in game. Rather, in editing, turn down the game volume down 0.2 to 0.3. Or separate the audios and change the mix a little more heavy on the voice. Just ever so slightly. Engines are really loud revved out this year and i like to listen to youtube while working or doing other stuff and it gets kinda hard to hear you sometimes.
The initial release handling reminded me of F1 2018 handling. You had so much initial turn grip, but mid corner you started to loose it. Of course it was not at the scale of F1 24, and 2018 cars felt over-steery as hell. But i remember F1 2018 very good and i enjoyed the handling model there so much.
I think having a lot of front grip is fun, and probably realistic to a degree. But f1 24 just has too much grip is total, this game with 3 seconds slower times will feel so much better
I bought the game yesterday, mostly because I want to play with the current liveries and schedule. I didn't pay for F1 23 since it's been free on EA Game Pass for months already so I don't feel like I've spent money on a "livery patch". I tried driving a bit this morning (still the old handling model) and yeah, it's hard to keep the car from over-rotating in the slow corners (turn 2 and 10 in Canada). The patch was released after I went to work so I'll be happy to try it out tonight. Hopefully it's at least a little bit better. I play with cockpit cam, 360 wheel rotation and with the preset setups since I value realism over being quick.
@@ivandragicevic9410 Bahrain was a shit fest with last year's game... You had no traction and would spin 50 times per race... Hated it... In this year's game I had traction and could take the corners smoothly and finished the full length 57 laps with minimal spins... This year's game is a way better representation of an aerodynamics masterpiece that is an F1 car
Hi brendon 😊 you are always very exhaustive in your videos 🔝 practically they have only modified the front axle a little with a certain degree of steering. I don't see any differences even in braking or am I wrong?
@@BrendonLeigh Do the Esports guys actually try the new setup features every year, or do y’all slap on last year’s setups, do some tweaks and call it a day?
I think it's better and I play on controller (also a league racer with it and not a bad one). But other controller players say it's worse so idk. I've got some adjustments though which are probably helping, but it feels more natural to me generally. Either way though, it still has flaws, like the cars being too fast as you said.
Real world driver do not have to use the steering like you do coming out of the corners. Its probly a roll back to f1 23 handlining. Why do you think it came so quick after release !?!?
Brendon’s comment around the lines of “you can hear the rpm drop at the exit and that’s due to high friction in the game” just shows the difference between an esport level driver/champ and us SIM mortals 😂 I wouldn’t have detected that nuance in a million years, too busy just keeping the car on the road 😂
If 10 is perfect for enjoyment even considering the game isn’t designed to be a sim Pre patch 4 Now it’s a 5 To make it easily an 7, just make the cars 3-5 seconds slower per lap so turns are not silly fast. This will make the lap times in line with the real f1 also and be pretty fun to drive
It's not "enjoyable" when people get used to a handling model only for esports drivers and content creators bitch because they can't do it and it gets changed. Who cares if it's too fast it's a game.
as a competitive player myself it's just stupid having to fix these fundamental problems... f1 23 was absolutely brilliant, just get rid of brake dragging and work on fixing bugs, its really that simple imo.
It’s an interesting point I tend to agree that we don’t need a whole need physics model every year but a slight development from the last years version, I guess there is an element of marketing that helps game sales with a new physics model though
@@BrendonLeighdefinitely from a marketing view. Every year people complain about the handling, so when they release a new one a lot of people get their hopes up.. to get disappointed 🤣
The only person to speak the truth u deserve more my brother ❤ i will suffer in silence and play alone f1 2020 stand for something or die for nothing ea will never get nothing its the honourable thing to do alone i stand if must be ❤ a revolutionary act is to have the courage not just to speek it but to live it together we can. Change it
Do they no longer call RU-vid to try out the game before it launches. We can be having the same story every sing time. I last bought F1 2015 which I said I will never buy F1 games again.
I'm just gonna stick with 23 until a big sale is on. I'm really not fussed with f1 games now. they're expensive. Pre ea, cdkeys sold codes for under £30 guaranteed, usual was 22-25. Ea version is £60-70. I'd rather dump that into iracing.
still play 23 with updated liveries, no point in upgrading to 24 when it's this bad lol the driver career mode does seem fun, but the handling not so much
gonna get hate for this, but to me 22 had the best handling outside of the traction. I cannot stand the nonexistent front grip in 23, it makes low speed corners feel so horrible to me. Trail braking in 23 just felt so horrible because of this, I hope 24 is more like 22.
It’s almost like F1 cars are terrible in low speed… Do you want realism or do you want a driving experience that feels good, but nothing like an F1 car?
@@justinburley8659 i dont want to speak on something I havent driven irl, but go play some well respected f1 mod on ac and youll see that the front tyres actually have some grip. I do agree that 22 was not realistic for example with rear locking, almost never happened. At least to me.
This game is horrible by just looking at it, the sounds, handling and grip, The game has become so arcade compared to older F1’s, i haven’t played F1 since F1 21 and i have absolutely 0 interest of buying it
Just because you’re an incompetent who doesn’t even know how to pull the trigger. The physics of F1 24 is that of a game from the 90s. The physics of the 23 was perfect. You are a few who like this shitty physics, 90% of the players shit, there will be a reason don’t you think? Or maybe it’s better for EA to play a game for millions of players but made in a way that pleases mak8836? Wake up.
Luca chill!!! People are allowed their own opinions dude 🤣 take a walk outside rather than throwing trash hate on mak who literally didn’t say anything aggressive, literally just said his opinion!!
I HATE this handling model. Ive played most f1 games since the late 80,s and this is the worst of all. Ive given it a few days but wont be playing this game again. You should not be able to drift f1 cars and there should not be artificial traction control when playing with no assists. You should not be running max front wing with zerp rear and be fast and stable. Shkuld not be 4 seconds a lap faster than real life. I could go on and on. EA have ruined the F1 franchise for many of us
Get over it guys!! The handling is different! Not poorer than 23. All you peeps are just too used to a year of driving F1 23, which is why it feels weird. And to all those saying its not realistic, please tell me how many hours have you driven the original Formula 1 Car!!!!
