I heard from other sources that mtj had treated sherry pretty bad towards the end of their relationship. I think kyle petty was one and I believe another was a current driver but can't remember who.
Danica could have been good, but the hype and the want for a female driver fast tracked her right in to oblivion. I'm hoping the same thing dosn't happen to Hailie Deegan. I really like Deegan's attitude she could be a most popular driver contender in cup fore sure.
Worst driver to have a good ride for five years, yes. Worst driver to ever get a good ride for a year or two, no. And certainly not as bad as some of the career backmarkers either.
Wow, I knew she was never able to make it in the Cup series, I did not realize how much she got rushed in. Also, I'd suggest you react to EmpLemon's Talladega video at some point. Your reactions to his other NASCAR videos were great, and Talladega has a lot of interesting history to explore.
I lost all respect for her after the 2010 New Hampshire Xfinity race when turned down and spun herself off of Morgan Shepherds 89 car, then had the nerve to say that "he totally took her out"; the then 68 year old man who had JESUS on the hood of his car, wrecked Crashica Patwreck intentionally. Yeah right.
I never really followed NASCAR that closely, so I never understood why Patrick seemed to be pretty bad in NASCAR after actually doing quite well and even winning a race in IndyCar
Alot of F1 drivers got the spot because of politics, not talent. Yes, they are still good but some of them are not the best 20 open-wheel drivers. That goes for any sport.
They dad power steering in her time, I've driven many stick cars at Talladega and Charlotte and a it's as easy as a normal car, probably easier with banking, steering I mean, not racing
@@Mjones8383 That's true, but have you ever raced? It's an entirely different animal when you're in traffic at 100 mph+. Just saying, her small frame and relative lack of muscle mass may have been a contributing factor.
No, that's not the issue. If you watched her during her run, what she had was a series of issues with losing focus and sometimes just making flat out bad decisions. She never learned the reaction tree properly, came up through to the top too fast. What that means is she didn't have a good grasp of what could potentially happen when you put yourself in a given position, taking into account what's going on with the cars around you. It leads to things like pulling up to the inside of a car in the corner when there's a slow car trying to cut to the bottom 3 cars ahead, technically visible, but it didn't sink in that "this car's going to be in my lap in 5 seconds, maybe I should let off so I'm clear outside should their effort go wrong and I get boxed". And then the slow car causes one of the cars ahead to bobble in surprise and slow, and she's still by the outside car and now has the choice to ram the car ahead or trade paint with the outside car. TLDR she never spent enough time in the feeder and secondary series to pick up "NASCAR thinking" and as such was often behind the decision curve.
Just found your channel and enjoying it very much. Since you do ask for suggestions, and this was a battle between two of my favorite Nascar drivers (Jeff Burton was my #1) who raced and battled absolutely cleanly (as Burton and Kenseth were known to do) for the last 20 laps of the 2006 Dover race. Dozens of times other drivers would have moved the other out of the way with their bumper....but this battle was clean and epic! There is a video of the last 20 laps, but the quality is TERRIBLE. So this is actually the video of the whole race and should automatically queue up to the right spot, but if not go to 2:45:00 for the last 20 or so amazing laps. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tTfM1phB5yU.htmlsi=kxyepK3oDZsU_dVy&t=9908
This is also a great example of how oval racing is not just "turning left" but working different lines entering/in the middle/exiting turns is a skill the really great ones have to know how to do.
My opinion she recieved a lot of unnecessary hate. She definitely was overrated by sponsors, "woke" crowds, and the TV media. She definitely had talent and I had no problem having her in the series. I want personality and toughness in the sport despite the bonehead actions that will occur. She had great talent, especially in Indy car, so she earned a chance in Nascar. She did things her way and took advantage of what others were willing to give her, and didn't care if others thought she didn't deserve the attention. I wasn't pretending like she was some sort of hero or legend because she definitely wasn't as talented as most of the other drivers, but I didn't care enough to act like her presence in Nascar was some sort of personal trauma or major historical injustice like some fans acted like. Like many other drivers in most motorsports who appear overrated, go ahead and boo them and dislike them, but just chill sometimes, we are here to be entertained.
