Here's an F1 onboard lap around the Circuito de Pedralbes in Barcelona, Spain. This circuit hosted the first Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix in 1951, and once again in 1954 before being permanently retired as a racing venue for safety reasons following the 1955 Le Mans disaster.
This Formula 1 hotlap is driven in Assetto Corsa with Fernando Alonso in the F1 2022 Alpine A522 challenger.

For those who wants more information: - The main straight is actually the Avinguda Diagonal (Diagonal Avenue), one of the most important "streets" in Barcelona. - After the first corner, we go to the Avinguda d'Esplugues - After the second, is the turn of Avinguda de Pedralbes, the neighborhood that the circuit took his name. - And the last two ones are Passeig de Manuel Girona, and Carrer de Numància, and we go again to the Avinguda Diagonal. All the streets names are wrote in Catalan, don't be unrespectful with me for that please. Some of the streets are called different throught the years, like Avinguda Diagonal was Avenida del Generalísimo Franco, because of the times... Thx a lot for doing a video about a circuit of the city I was born, raised and still living, appreciate it a lot!!

Also after the first turn the first part of that straight is now part of the Ronda de Dalt, one of the main beltways of the city that were opened in 1992 (alongside the Ronda Litoral)...

EVEN BETTER FACTS · The part of Diagonal used in the street circuit is so incredibly wide IRL because of the street circuit, it was 100% intentional as old circuits used to have the pitlane NOT separated from the main track and organizers wanted some safety · The Avenida de Esplugues is NO LONGER REAL, it's just the Ronda de Dalt (the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games ruined any possibility for a revival)

In 2018 I walked around this circuit. At last sector, surrounded by parked vehicles, playgrounds and small shops, you could hardly imagine the grand prix racetrack, located there more than 60 years ago

It’s an amazing concept. Pedralbes was very popular with the 1950s drivers. There was a lot of room to make mistakes and have some fun, it was a real test of the machine, and lots of overtaking opportunities. It’s like a cross between Reims, Monza and Tripoli.

70 years ago, this zone in Les Corts district was a periferic zone. Now is actually one of the richests districts in Barcelona.

The shape of the track reminds me of Fuji Speedway but really REALLY weird. Both have the comically huge straight into hairpin (though this one is EVEN BIGGER and turn 1 is uphill)

1) in reality, the REAL original Spanish Grand Prix was held at Lasarte-Oria circuit, near San Sebastian. Sadly there isn't any version for any simulator but it was a great road circuit, over 17 km long, where huge crowds attended the first few editions of the GP. 2) this is the kind of circuit that totally misses in F1: very long, only long straights and slow corners. Practically, a circuit with zero downforce and just power and slipstream. Even at Monza you need some downforce, for the second sector.

When I first saw the track layout in the top right corner I thought booooring 🥱😴 But the humps and bumps and waves and elevation changes seem to be pretty evil and just at the "right" places to make racing really "interesting" 😁😈
