Ep 18 where we take a look at the Formula One V10 Engine assembly and Tolerances.
2nd time around making this video as explained - forgive me if I sound a bit jaded as it was a long day and the 2nd time round is never as exciting on an already pretty bland topic in terms of bling on show!
Few corrections as always - mainly re turbocharging and removing centre part of MLS gasket - obviously you would remove this to increase compression in an NA engine, and stack two centres to reduce for a turbo engine.

I'd believe your approach to respecting the industry by only releasing safe info is the right way to go. Most people I'd reckon aren't here for insider/secret info, but just whatever we can get. With honor among a small base, I hope you get clearance from the engine Gods to release more, and spread the words of F1 nerds.😃

Hi Brian, Thanks for all your time and effort to put this information to us passionates of F1 technology. I do remember to have seen some videos of a disassembly of a toyota V10 and a change of an Asiatech engine on old F1 engines of a team who manages a bunch of toyotas F1 cars for current owners, some of them participating to BOSS GP, they talk in german, but with caption, it was clearly understandable, they said the engine usually is warm (water and oil) to 70°C and then started, and they showed the oil used too, a normal high performance oil you can buy. With the info you explainded here, it is understandable why they need to warm externally those engines, and this is not only an exclusive of F1 engines, this same procedure is used vastly by the majority of full racing purpose built engine who rev high.

Remember reading Alexander Graham Bells book, he calls it blue printing too. I think David Wizard too. I believe A. Bell mentions it to be bigger in clearances on race engines in certain places because it gets hotters, etc. Awesome video again.

As one of the 5% ers it makes me happy to know my hand drawings are to the same standard and as yours . However your use of brown paper is far more professional than my bit of old cardboard, fag packet or dusty windscreen. I find cad way better as I don’t have to find the endless amount of tape measures and pens that I put down or the verniers . Kept nice and simple and showing respect to sensitive information / people ,sadly disappearing old school values like yours are getting thinner in the ground. 😇
