I used a 1” wide cargo strap to compress the shock to the right length so it slid right in.

What is the u bolt looking thing thats on the axle that bolts through the bottm of the shock. Im having a hard time finding that part

I don't remember on this particular truck. Typically they are welded though

If you can muscle the shock in then nope! Could be easier to jack the body up to get the lower shock mount to fit without a struggle...but I have never "needed" to

Depends on my mood honestly. Haven't seen a real life benefit to it as of yet. Sometimes I do just to verify they move all the way
