Something I forgot to mention in my other post, is that Raytheon is working on the Peregrine missile. It’s half the size of an AMRAAM with just as powerful of a warhead, it uses additive manufacturing and if I’m not mistaken it’ll be faster as well.

@jacksonteller1337

Russia is crying anyway because they lost a third of their air combat capabilities against an opponent without a major air force. Losses are the destroyed ones and the ones that in Russia crashed or came back with so much battle damage they can't be restored. Add that the Russian Federation is doing deep maintenance, something they usually skip making their aircraft crash, taking out a lot more capabilities.

@@jacksonteller1337 The F35 is a trash plane its only stealth against x band radar so Russia and China use S band and Lband radars on their planes. Russias Irbis-E radar system can see and engage 4 stealth planes at 350 kms in its stealth hunting mode. And See and engage 30 targets in normal mode. There is one profile that NO plane can hide,,,, air dissipation. Planes create a vortex of swirling air around them, I have seen in the past of devices that can detect this air movement, but it never eventuated into a practical working model. Weather radars use a similar technology to detect wind direction (or vortices), which could be remade to detect air disturbances created by planes. If that was ever invented, no plane no matter how stealthy, would be visible.

I wonder when they actually going to slant them and let them shoot out of ports from the top or bottom of the plane like the ports on a ship . They can fire and lock on after leaving the plane and they could add alot more missiles if their small like the small diameter bomb. The space behind the cockpit would be a great place to put them . They may not can do it now but on future planes where they can actually plan it out would be a great option. Because with stealth you have limited options they need to be more creative on how they use space and this could work.

I wonder how F-35 would fare against Russian Airforce if F-35 were to be sent to Ukraine to be used against RuAF. I think so that F-35 would have many advantages. 1. F-35 is a fifth generation stealth aircraft, meaning its Radar cross section is far lower than that of conventional legacy aircrafts like F-16, F-15, F-18, MiG-29, MiG-35 etc. 2. Due it's advantage of Stealth, it will detect jets like Su-27, Su-30, Su-35, MiG-29s etc before they can do the same. In this way, F-35 will have see first shoot first advantage meaning it will mostly detect Russian fighters first, acquire a lock on them and fire something like an AMRAAM to shoot them down. 3. F-35 might be able to conduct SEAD based operations very effectively with SPEAR EW. Etc.. Yes.. the F-35. Chances of US allowing F-35 or even F-22 to fight in Ukraine against Russia is pretty much next to none (I literally do mean it). As I've said before, the F-35 is a gold-plated piece of 💩. As Ivan has found out, having a shiny new toy doesn't mean diddly squat. Dispite the REMF PR BS, actions do matter more than words. The aircraft that POS is supposed to replace are all being upgraded and new ones being built. F-15EX, new F-16Vs for our allies and bringing USAF Block 60s up to Block 70/72 status, F/A-18 E/F/G still being built, re-winging the A-10 Hog. Cn you really think It can move mud, carrying Close Air Support and Wild Weasel missions? As the Wild Wesel motto says YGBSM. If you don't know what it means, GOOGLE IT. Without stealth an agile Viper dodged 6 SAMs fired at it in ONE sortie during Desert Storm. During Vietnam the DoD thought that Sparrow missiles were the begin all and end all of fighter combat. It took the lives of a lot of American pilots/aviators for those dunderheads at the Puzzle Palace to figure out that you don't put all your eggs in one basket. Now they are betting on stealth and AMRAAMs to keep bandits far away. and gain air superiority. If it ends up in a furball, do you really think a 1.6 Mach POS is going to come out on top in a gunfight? When it comes down to it the Mark-One eyeball, a shit hot pilot and shit hot fighter will make all the difference. Relying on one factor is going to cost a lot of too expensive aircraft and a lot of good pilots to learn the same lesson we learned 60 years ago. As George Santayana said, "Those that refuse to learn from history are doomed to repeat it."

" Cn you really think It can move mud, carrying Close Air Support and Wild Weasel missions?" It can do something called flat spins/pedal turns which are where it basically spins 360 almost in place. With it's DAS it can scan the battlefield in real time and fire off missiles/guided bombs from out of range of MANPADs. "Without stealth an agile Viper dodged 6 SAMs fired at it in ONE sortie during Desert Storm." And how many have been shot down? Stealth technology doesn't mean things will be perfect, but only 1 stealth aircraft has ever been shot down. " do you really think a 1.6 Mach POS is going to come out on top in a gunfight?" You aren't going passed mach 1 in dog fights, it's all about maneuverability. We are also passed the days of dog fights which is why most nations aircraft carry so little ammo in their cannons. Most only have a few hundred rounds which is good for less then 2 bursts at their rate of fire. BVR is the way of the future. " Relying on one factor is going to cost a lot of too expensive aircraft" The F-35a is cheaper then many 4th gen fighters. The F-35a costs around 78-79 million depending on source. The Su-35 costs 85 million, the Rafale cost over 100 million each, the Typhoon costs over 100 million each, EA-18s cost over 100 million each, JAS 39E/F Gripen cost 85 million each, and so on. The F-35 is a great aircraft for what is it supposed to be. It can track ballistic missiles, guide other missiles, scan the battlefield with it's DAS, has a low RCS, and is cheaper then many 4th gen aircraft. Is it an F-22? No, but we wont likely see a better aircraft until 6th gen aircraft come out.

Clearly you haven't got a clue about modern equipment and their use. Go play your game Ivan and leave the discussion to people who have a working knowledge of aircraft.

f16 was dodgeing sams while f35 would just bomb target and retun home not being fired at, a10 was absorbing fire and had to be fixed for weeks while f35 would fly mission after mission

@@hphp31416 Some of you sound like you think they should paint it red and blue and put an "S" on it. Stealth only works reliably at certain angles. Stealth reduces RADAR cross section; it doesn't eleminate it! It's a fighter, not a frigging Klingon Bird of Prey with a cloaking device. Your arguments are completly naive! No weapon system is as perfect as you seem to believe. The US and others are working on ways to beat stealth, If you don't beleive that I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.
