I actually wired mine in series off of the red and black wires and they sounded better than when I used both red and black and yellow and blue wires…..thanks for the vid
@@ExoticCarDIY no not higher end, started with Rockford fosgate T152 but the housing was too big so ended with a pair of kickers because it’s all I could find in store that would fit
Great post. Your point about 4 ohm and looking for high sensitivity is spot on. Also, there are very few speakers that fit and allow the use of the oem grills. Your choice with the basket and surround design of the Polks is PERFECT. Most 5.25" woofers will not fit and work with oem grills. I have tried a couple other speakers without success, yours work great, thank you. BTW, if you use a drill bit, you can open up the mounting holes. On the front side, the plastic surround is interfering with clearance of the mounting holes on the speaker frame. By opening them up, I could then use the OEM four factory mounting holes. I did have to get some new metric screws in black from the hardware store.
Thanks for the kind words, yeah I'm overall very happy with him. My only complaint is I did notice I had to turn the factory crossover down quite a bit otherwise there is a bit of distortion at higher volumes. But they do sound good, as long as you're not expecting it to sound like a traditional subwoofer LOL
@@ExoticCarDIY I purchased a customized kit for the 360/430 from a source that sells 5" woofers in 8ohm with adapter plates to use the OEM grills. While they worked, they did not play as loud or as deeply as the oem speakers. (which I still have and work fine). I learned they were optimized for the factory HIFI audio option with the high power amp. I have a Scuderia with the Becker Cascade 6112 and no external amp, so you can see the problem. It only has the subwoofer box and tweeters in the dash, no door speakers. These Polks and some fiddling with the crossover settings in the Becker, sound much better than even the OEM set up, and play much louder.

All of our 4:30's are now around 15 years old, I bet you the foam is deteriorated in almost everybody's. You think you'll try the polks or go with a different brand? I'm curious to hear other people's choices
