I have often wondered how many paints you must have for modelling? A friend is getting back into model building and I see him buy (too many) kits without starting any - I think he is freaking out about lack of skills and technique... and watching some of these build videos and seeing the extensive painting work, it seems you would need a heck of a lot of paints for even just one, say, tank as an example?
I’ve been doing this for nearly twenty years and over that time you will accumulate a lot of paint. What he’s freaking out about makes absolutely no sense. Tell your friend to chill and watch my channel along with Frontline Model Hobbies RU-vid channel. We do things simply.
@@modelpro72 Thanks for that. I think what he is worried about is that his ambition is to be as good as people who have, like yourself, been gradually building skills over many years and he should be as good even though he hasn't touched a kit since he was 10. Especially if he bought something expensive! I can appreciate it's not a cheap hobby... The main aim should be fun and enjoyment and he probably has lost sight of that, thinking he needs all the equipment and skills before he even opens a box.
