Gotta say, I'm a RC flyer guy that has been absent from the hobby for a couple of decades. Tried the fpv drones but to old for that stuff! Used to like going fast and low. After seeing some of these clips I'm stoked about DLG's and this F5J stuff! Getting some kits and a radio that can handle everything! Love the vids guys!
I'm running the exact motor/gearbox setup on a 130c 4s battery. My ESC standard base program had 15* timing. That timing and my GM 12x10 was 61amps. Lowered the timing to 5* and now the motor runs more smooth, and only 48amps! Just noting that the ESC timing is a big player.
Loud noise from the Vita prop is because the prop is stalled.. it may work much better once it is actually moving forward. It maybe much more efficient once it is moving forward.
Totally agree. Makes exact same sound as my RFM16x17 from my hotliner. When on the ground or flying slow its very loud but when its gets to speed... its like a rocket.
Efficiency comes from larger prop and slower rpm. 4s would be more efficient at lower kv. The motor you tested on 4s is spinning too fast for the pitch to make static thrust. That motor is happy on 3s. I have a 2800kv that’s good on 4s.
