Best feature on Cancellara and one of the best on cycling I've seen yet. Captures many key moments in this race, dramatically spotlight's Cancellara's overwhelming power on his rivals - and the music; it's suspense, it's seemingly weeping melodies for Cancellara's carnage of victims, and it's dark overtones as if Cancellara - the grim reaper has come for you, encapsulated with the beautiful chorus in the end where Cancellara returns to glorious victory, like a Swiss Knight...all magnificent!
Fabian Cancellara is an anomaly among professional cyclists. For one thing he has the wholesome build of a rugby wing forward (he is 6ft 1in and 80kg) while the rest mostly resemble Welsh wingers from the 1970s. When he stands next to his milk-fed team-mates at presentation ceremonies it looks like he has brought his kids along in cute replica jerseys.
Must be a great feeling to have this kind of power. Most mpressive sportsman ever, I think. Belgians call him the 'platwalser', meaning bulldozer or something... :) very nice compilation!
Spartacus, "de platwalser", de tank, de stoomtrein, there's loads of nicknames for Fabian around here because people are cycling crazy and love Boonen and Cancellara's rivalry
Some might be sad for Tony, but Tony was much younger too. Time trial sometimes can be tricky when it comes to ages. Slightly older riders has more experience on levels of power control too.
So amazing, the second person he overtakes must be like: 'what the heck, didnt he start 4 minutes behind me?' Then 10 second later: 'Holy cow, Cancellara is riding 5 km/h faster than me.'
the ending was the best - ... the closing of the music... the coasting through the finish .... then the podium.... I bet you had this all played out in your head before you made the video. very nice work my good man! To the music questioners - i think it suited the video well - maybe would have slowed the video to his cadence at times to drive the point home - but great work.
Musical taste is subjective, so for those comments on the music having "sucked", there are many people out there who would equally agree that this music was a refreshing and welcome change to all the mob favouring hip-hop, trance and the like. This is one person's perspective expressed beautifully and it can be appreciated for what it has contributed over all the other content on cycling and Cancellara. Again - excellent production! I'd love to see similar videos to the music of 300 or Conan!
I don't even think sour jerks talking that thought it would catch. Guy was most explosive combo of power and acceleration/cadence we had /have ever seen whatever his focus turned to he smashed it. London prologue and 2011 e3 for me were mind blowing. Such power
Monster indeed. I'm not sure if it was this TT, but canche could do 500W for an hour and wiggins were said to have been 600W for 4 minutes at the height of the day.
@dainosor90 Only for very very short sections. This was not intentional. Merely a technical error. Something to do with different sample rates of audio while splitting off sections of the original video. Can't remember exactly how it happened but I never noticed it at the time. 99% of the video is at the right speed.
He should go to a team where he could settle and concentrate on his cycling, instead of the madhouse where he is now. When he was at Saxo Bank he was untouchable, he never crashed. The last two years he has crashed, been seriously injured, he has been beaten on the line and he even hit the barrier in the world championship TT... something is not right
I do not watch cycling races anymore since they killed the time trials. Where is prologue time trial, where are long tt stages? I personally enjoyed tt's more than stage races and nowadays they are boring especially after Fabian.
