is this the first game trailer you've seen? game's not done yet. every game does this lol. you'll see it when they have more to show off. and there was plenty of gameplay in that trailer
What I wanna know is if we can still 1.buy a home 2.have a romance character 3.have kids/adopt kids 4.Be able to choose our gender 5.Be able to customize like tattoos and hairstyles and wardrobe colors 6.Have companions 7.Have silly emotes and have a morality bar
well probably not, that's just the stock character you start with then your decisions, skills and battle scars will change your appearance like the other fable games.
Looks more like Scarlet, tbh. That's certainly her Robe.(that Her Dear Daughter took to wearing later) Meaning Humphrey might just be our beloved Guildmaster(that IS the guild seal round his neck), That African-Styled Woman might be Thunder and Whispers Mother, And the Villain may be Good Ol Jack Again... Prequel? Quite likely. Certainly looks plausible.
@@randeli7785 Jacks always been evil, he and the rest of the court of Blades came from the void and took over albion before the old kingdom was made and had to be stopped by William Black, the first hero who went on to become Scythe
@@sz-nurek I'm going to have a guess at technically no as she did sort of merge with the protagonist at the end of that game. We won't even know if Fable The Journey is cannon to the whole story of Fable until people get the game.

@@DJVideso it's not that bro. Fable had certain design, call it an art style of graphics. It was on purpose to give the world look of a fairy tale, fable (thus the series name). It also helped in escapism and player's immersion into that world. Why would anybody need or want for Fable to look like a real world? That's also another side of same coin with lots of modern fantasy or sci-fi games -> bringing in real world problems into game's world. Why would anybody want to deal with this stuff if games are escapism medium?
The definition of evil these days is pretty unclear. It appears to have more to do with circumstance rather than actions. If we continue this trend, games and media are going to have to keep using Germans (or conservatives provided they continue to demonize them)
Is it bad when I'm female but have more interest in playing the retired hero's character when they were younger. It's not even about his looks! Its the personality that sells me more.
But that's like removing the charm and quirkiness from Fable's combat. I, for one, absolutely loved those combat flourishes and slow-motion camera effects, whether it was in close quarters or from miles away with your rifle.
It sort of looks more like the time period of fable 1, which had bows and crossbows. Im only saying this based off the lack of industrialized or clockwork aesthetic of fable 2 and 3. So yes it is possible this one may have bows and crossbows again instead of pistols and rifles.

If there isn't a character creator, then Im not interested. No offense, but these games were all about self inserting yourself into the story. I can tell you with 100% certainty, I am not that chick.
@@thelionman09even the first fable limited you on playing as a man. Fable 2 and 3 give you the option of chose gender, but it's not like a big thing for the character creator. Fable was never about the character creator

Not to be rude.... But I feel like none of you actually played fable games? You don't customize your character, outside of clothes and MAYBE dye your hair and hair cut later on. at most you customize (pick) the gender. Which they may have. Your character changes based on what you eat, do, and say. Which with the retired hero we can see they have black then blonde hair... Change of morality. That's why the main character is only a fair build with brown hair n eyes, in a middle state before any changes made through what you do.

Honestly, people crying aside, I think that would actually be pretty novel. We usually see the male version of the PC as default in like....most media, so leading the marketing with the female PC would be a nice change of pace.
Technically, The "GREATEST HERO" of Albion, Lore wise, would be Scythe the Necromancer BEFORE he was Scythe the Necromancer. Y'see, it's never stated outright, but in Fable (the lost chapters, anniversary, Flavor Text in 2 and 3) its implied that Scythe is the Heroic Remains of the Hero of Oakvale and Theresa's Ancestor, who slew the King and Queen of blades, but was corrupted by the sword of Aeons, turning him into Scythe, a mere Echo of what he once was. (It's also implied that Scythe is STILL out there, in the later games.) But yeah, Fairly certain his name wasn't Humphrey. However... Humphrey DOES look a bit familiar. We have no idea WHERE in the timeline it's set, but that's CLEARLY Castle Fairfax, so Bowerstone Exists... Meaning this COULD be a Prequel, and Humphrey COULD be, seeing as he seems to fill that role, Destined to grow old, and telepathically Tell us "Hero, Your Health is low. Do you have any food, or potions?"... I can't recall, but did the Guildmaster ever have a listed Name? And that "girl who made the wrong choices" that "wants to make it all right" with that staff that's growing vines, was wearing a VERY familiar SCARLET ROBE. Could it be A certain Heroes Mother?(by the same name?) Oh, the THEORIES!
Got that same feeling after just 1 minute. Sad, Fable 1 was one of the best games I ever played and I always dreamed about a true, authentic sequel. But it’s clear now the whole industry just gave up on gamers and are clearly targeting new costumers with all this inclusive, cringy, Netflix/disney like BS. Basically all media products feel the same thing nowadays.
I think you guys are assuming what you want it to be. I get setting the bar low so you're pleasantly surprised but it's like you need it to push an invisible narrative so you have something to do. Something like getting upset. I'm sure it won't be as bad as you think. I'm sure that will be some pc stuff that is shoehorned in, but it won't be too crazy. This game series has always been pretty liberal anyway.
it kinda seemed like they went a realistic approach from the beginning, they were just limited for the hardware of their time. I think you feel the artstyle changed too much because it actually has been THAT long since their last game, that the next would surely be that massive jump in graphics. The vibe of this trailer felt very much still like fable to me.
@@airanator1212IDK, there were other games at the time of Fable that tried to take the more realistic approach even if the graphics were limited. Compare Fable to Morrowind, Fable clearly has a more cartoony artstyle than Morrowind.

For the people complaining. There has been gender options and slight character creation since Fable 2, there is no way they are going to regress for this next installment. We may even get full customization for the first time.
It's possible, I mean I'm sure there will be an amount of customization, but the MC here feels pretty characterized, so I wouldn't be surprised if she was canon. If it is optional, then I do gotta give them props for using her in the marketing instead of the male PC, since for most games with gender-selection the male version is used for most promo-material or is basically implied to be the "canon" version of the two.

Unfortunately, it might be a sign of a younger generation of inexperienced writers. With this new generation, we will see real life politics injected into the game.
What is Fable then, if not a Fable of heroes and how they came to be, well, heroes. What are you guys expecting? If they got rid of the interaction system, magic gameplay, and karma system, I would understand this hate, but so far, everything here has screamed fable.

I think it’s one of Jacks “siblings” he wears the mask of the queen of blades if IIRC and I think the king of blades? I could be wrong but the MC says “she’s back” so if the queen of blades returns and we see her in game this story might be insane

I’m a little worried after seeing this. The fable games were special cause it allowed you to make a character and have them act however you wanted (the name “fable” literally represents that idea). This trailer gives the impression that you’ll be playing someone else’s fable instead of your own
None of the fable games ever let you make your own character. You pick either male in fable, or male and female in 2 and 3, and then you change them with your choices. I swear none of you have actually played fable.

All this trailer talked about was choices. I don't see why everyone seems to think that the things she said in this trailer are not possibly dialogue/choice options that are pre-voiced like in Mass Effect. Also it seems clear to me in this trailer the big bad is the hero he is actually talking about, as she clearly has some of the character morph traits (dark aura) from playing "Evil" in past Fable games, hinting at what the player character could become by also making Evil choices. I think this game is setting up perhaps a *Choose a hero to support* kind of story, where you choose between Humphrey and HER, whoever SHE is.

So yes, you did make it sound like you were talking about a character creator and I swear so many others though there was a character creator in previous games.
Notice how the older Fable games say "YOU'RE the hero, YOU'RE the villain", but now we have to listen about how incredible the awful writer's self-insert is.
If you're talking about what Humphrey says, it doesn't seem like he's actually talking about the player. Since he's talking about this person already having done many things, and we'll probably start from scratch, same as the other games. The part at the end is most likely the person he's actually talking about.

What's with people wanting to customize character in every game now? The LOU series had unique characters and everyone grew to like them (well most of them).
We asked for it more than year ago during last trailer and they still didn't. I'm sure they don't even care. And now I"m sure game will flop because of "their vision"

Gonna be honest - one look at the thumbnail and I knew that I DID NOT want to watch this video. But I just knew the comments would at least be entertaining And is it just me, or is does that giant toad actually look more impressive than that character approaching it?
That’s not how Fable games work but, I guess you can hope. Why do you care if you’ve never played the game? Edit: So Mario Odyssey had clothes and customizations too, but I wouldn’t call it “changing the character”. It’s post character customization, yes fable has this, and this game hopefully will too. Male or female there is a base protagonist that can be altered through gameplay. The comment was just not very specific so I may have misinterpreted. I agree by the way that it should have a gender option, it may… but that seems less likely.
@@macrous2120 My guy have YOU ever played a fable game? Stuff like hairstyles, tattoos, ect have been here since day one in the original fable. Just because it wasent on the very first screen does not mean they were not a form of character customization. And, given its been, oh I dunno...almost 15 years since the last game, it really would not be that surprising to get a full character creator screen. You see, games do this WILD thing called "changing systems to modern standards". I know, crazy to think things have actually evolved past standards of 2004.
