The idea of each house having its own "courtyard" or "garden" comes from the fact that historically back in a medieval-ish time each household would have that space in which they would either have some things they grow (vegetables, animals, etc). It's something that also Manor Lords is doing and it's crucial to the prosperity of an hamlet in fact. Of course, in this case, it's also very nice to see and helps giving a feeling of "organical building" to the town.

This is a fun game. Its also one of those games which you quickly end up invested and "I just build this small thing" turns into several hour sessions.

Here I am, watching another Splattercat video, without any context of the new indie game he's showing off, and first thing i see is "ASS GROTTO". 😂

I enjoyed playing this game a few months back. It's a good one if you're new to the genre as well; it's fairly easy and relaxed. Pretty difficult to fail as well.

I'm really enjoying Fabledom, though I admit that it's feeling the sting of its Early Access right now more than most. The game promises a lot of folklore and storytelling game concepts and mechanics that will make it stand out as a different kind of colony builder, but which the Early Access as of yet wasn't implemented yet. That stuff is planned and there's a roadmap, but as of right now it's more or less a Banished clone with only a couple mechanical variations, and I've gravitated back to Settlement Survival (imo the best colony builder out right now) for the time being.

When you mentioned the puddles on the roads, I suddenly realized what was bothering me with the visuals. It's minor but a fairly common mistake. The rural dirt road with 2 wheel ruts and grass in between is so common for "farmland terrain" that people no longer think how it forms. People see it in rural roads and assume old roads look like that. They didn't. You put a horse drawn cart on a dirt road and you'll end up with two ruts and mud curned up by horse hooves in between. The grass island in between ruts is only possible with "the horseless cart". Roads like that require an automobile to form. It's still pretty but it does imply engines instead of animals as the common mode of transport.

This is still a really pretty game. This kind of city builder management games always stand and fall with how well the economy works and how the player can regulate it to tweak it closer to perfection. I'm curious how the diplomacy/combat game will work. Jeff's gotta punch, I can see how amped up he is to go throw hands with some fools.

I'm not opposed to a road based building game, but my preference is road _optional_ building games. Where roads exist as options, and provide a benefit for a cost, but if not utilized the NPC will just take the next most efficient route.

I've had this on my wishlist since the last time you covered it, but kind of forgot about it (I have a big wishlist lmao). Definitely going to bump this up to the top of the list. I've been wanting a game that scratches that Banished itch and nothing feels just right. This one might, just might, be the one.

I'm loving Fabledom - I think there's another major patch due soonish? It's definitely suffering from lack-of-content-itis, but I have faith this will improve as it progresses through Early Access.

The rain puddles look way too bright and blue to me. But tweak em a little and it'll look great!

When viewing the town from far away, the movement of the plants by the wind gives it a weird look. As if it was underwater. I feel it would make me a little sick if I look at it for long enough.

What i miss in these games is a bit more "sense" around expansion. Like you buy groud, but from whom? And why pay for it? Settlers did a nice way for it, but there should be other ways

The one thing that keeps bothering me is how the roads look... they're just wrong. At intersections they split, but they are cart tracks... carts just split in half supposedly. It keeps bothering me... ...otherwise its genuinely a great game!

This game is waaaay underbaked and I absolutely regret buying it. They've really optimized the first couple of hours of play so it looks great when RU-vidrs cover it, but there's just nothing after that. If it sounds interesting to you (it did to me!) check back in a couple of years.

Isiah 53 describes in graphic detail how our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, would be executed 610 years before that method of execution had even been invented. In the Qumran Cave Dead Sea Scroll discovery of 1946 - 1947. There was an entire Isiah Scroll recovered and our Bibles are pretty much a match to it. That scroll is from 200 BC, (give or take a decade or so), so even if people say there's no way Isiah predicted all he did about the Lord's coming and execution 700 years before it happened. The date of that Scroll sets it firmly 200 years or so before the Lord was even born and that method of execution still hadn't been invented yet. I've seen reports that crucifixion was found to be used by the Romans in 90 BC but that still doesn't explain how Isiah knew about it in 610 years before that time or even if you date it by the Isiah Scroll that was found in the Dead Sea Cash dated to 200 BC. If I had just Isiah 53 I could preach the Gospel as we find out from the story of Phillip and the Eunuch. Isiah 53 is among the strongest proofs that our Bibles do in fact contain God's Word showing His divine nature in His Prophetic Words given to Isiah via the Holy Spirit. That one chapter, Isiah 53 alone shines such a light on modern day Judaism and yet it is not taught by their rabis, they skip or ignore it as if it doesn't exist. I've brought it up to modern day Jewish friends by reading that chapter, (without letting them see where I'm reading from in my Bible), and they almost always say that's New Testament we don't believe in that. Then I show them it's actually the prophet Isiah and they normally react in one of two ways. Anger towards those who're supposed to be teaching them God's Word, the makers of their Bibles that omit the verse or they get angry with me and say it's made up in our English Bibles, (or any Bible), that has the verse and or claim it's mistakes in translation. Which is truly sad in that our Savior is the one and only way to salvation for any of us. We know from our Bibles that they will one day believe as that's one of the main reasons for the tribulation, to bring His people Israel back to Him. It's just sad knowing they don't have to arrive in Heaven well done if they'd just believe in Him now. With the entire book of Isiah I could preach the Gospel for a lifetime as it lays it all out, including how it ends. Take care and God Bless.
