Fabric Shopping in Japan and Fabric Haul

Hello Everyone,
So I have just come back from an amazing holiday in Japan, We had a great time and did some shopping as well visiting some beautiful and interesting places.
I managed to record some video whilst I was fabric shopping there so I have added this in the first part of the video and then gone into my fabric haul.
I bought some beautiful fabric and I am really looking forward to using it to make some awesome things.

Michael Jimenez it was amazing I would definitely recommend it. I loved that I could go to the fabric shops there. I am so excited to use the fabrics I got.

That is just wonderful that you got to go to Japan and shop for fabric there too. I wanted to slow down the video so I could see the fabrics and pricing - speed shopping! The second from the last drapey fabric is my favorite. One of the SOI dress patterns will be wonderful for that! Totally understand jet lag - usually takes me a week to function and two weeks to be fully adjusted when I come home. Well done you!

Keep the selvedges with the writing and colour dots, sew them as labels in the finished garment. A reminder to make you smile. If not that I’d certainly keep them and use them for crafting.

Hi Kealy, thanks so much for showing us your trip to the fabric shops in Japan and what an exciting trip🏯. Wow....they have a lot 😵. Loved your haul and I particularly liked the jersey with the peacocks and the embroidered bee fabric 💞. You could perhaps make skirt from the bee fabric or, if you have enough, some sort of jacket maybe. I'm looking forward to seeing your makes and what you make with the lovely scalloped edge fabric too 👌. Enjoy your sewing Kealy 😁😘

Sally Dingle I know they have so much fabric!! It was amazing, glad you liked the video, it was great to film out and about to show everyone what I was doing. Yes I definitely need to think carefully about the bee fabric, I might not make anything out of that one quite yet. Thanks so much for watching.😊

Fabric Magpie thanks, although sometimes when I buy really lovely fabric it just stays in my stash because I don’t want to waste it! I just need to find the right pattern for it.

Yeah. I've been to Nippori. But I had only been sewing a year. I didn't buy anything. Because I didn't know what I needed. Alas.

Kimberly Gray hello, sorry about that but I’m not sure what you mean about the sound. I have tested it on multiple devices and it seems fine. If you mean the parts when I was in japan then it’s because I was speaking quietly because this was the first time I’ve filmed in public. Also I was just filming on my phone as I don’t have a proper camera with mic and everything.
