Being a so called gangster or made guy today is not the same as it once was, technology etc police feds are way different. If he goes into that life full blown he'll end up back in prison/jail its just an unfortunate matter of time.
Jimmy - we're both fathers of amazing kids, kick ass daughters who are becoming kick ass young ladies (probably way faster than we want!) I would never put myself in a situation again where I'd get locked up and not be available to be the father my daughter needs and deserves. Give your life to God who is the one true living boss. Who's "yous" with? You are going to want to answer, "Jesus." It should be the easiest thing for a gangster or former mobster to understand, that you don't get anywhere unless you are connected. You can be connected to God through Jesus Christ who is the boss of bosses. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and the wages of sin is death. However, one has an advocate in the Lord Jesus who can make all of that go away, so that you can be accepted into God's family. Choose life, choose God's way.
