Jenny & screech were 14 years old , when he went back on a Violet he said go back to 2005 to tell her tale of being beat ( Written 2019) 😉 Another note is these are all one takes 🎶🎸🎥👌 Ren likes to do gorilla filming , so yes this was done in the middle of the night in Brighton. which is on the ocean , you'll hear seagulls going over and it just happened to be serendipitous, at that time, he went out of the building , kind of sounded like sirens, after he beat Violet. You caught the person on the 2nd story, they probably heard Ren outside. " Oh it''s just Ren again they knew him 🎸🤣" He shows the behind the scene, so when they got to Violet's tale that happened to be a flat where his friend lived, and they just remove some bike racks and taped it out and it was perfect tone to walking down the hallways changing the sounds of the music 😂🎶bouncing off the walls, hallway & and up the stairs and it added to the storyline. Not only is bringing Bard back but to do these in one takes is what makes Ren 🎸and Sam's🎥 videos so good 👌 and done with very little budget. I can't wait till you get around the Money Game trilogy 🤣 You're so observant and pick up on things and you have an encyclopedia mind , I'm excited for your breakdown😉 I'm sure it's been mention Money game 1 was the first video, Money Game 2 ( Make sure you do the "LYRIC video" because the one on the beach is only half the song 😉) MONEY GAME 3 came out just a few months ago and is already won 5 awards for best international music video & for directing and they got a feature in #1 cinematography magazine.👏👏 How we wish you could go back, before "Hi Ren " took off dec 2022 and his talent finally realized, he would have probably won awards for those too & more😉🎶🎸🎥👏 😉Ren stories are deep but they make you think and get the conversation talking about things like breaking generational violence , the next one will be the money game 😉 A real fun one "current song "is Hunger🎶 and I know you'll enjoy that one 👌 and switch it up even more check out The Big Push ," I shot the sheriff Back to Zion /hip hop ( The one where he's wearing the red suspender done 2022 ) You will see he does so many different styles He's not from this earth lol 🤣🤣 Oh and I watched your Harry Mack one after this and Harry Mack made a video "about Ren "recently 👏 👏👏
Great reaction! More listens gives more insight ... like Jenny was 14, in high heels, painted with rosy cheeks, walking streets she's walked 1,000x before, dressed to look like a "lady." Also, it's possible that Violet was already pregnant (by her father) when she fell for Stevie, and that's what motivated her to move out at 16. Stevie could've been a roommate who took advantage of Violet's feelings for him. It fits with why Stevie knocked on her door. Either way, the twins' father was out of the picture, and they would've gone into the system. Jenny, frozen like her mother, and Screech, violent like his father, never had any more of a chance than Violet had. Ren's the Bard 2.0
Yup, Ren is a modern day bard telling Shakespearian tragedies. And he does it painting such vivid imagery with his storytelling that it pulls you in and forces you to keep watching - even when it gets physically uncomfortable during Violet’s Tale. He uses this ability to shed light on far too real issues in the world. Ren is special. Great reaction! Though I think you missed what happened to Violet as a child with her dad tucking her in every night but never leaving the room? And her mother drinking herself into oblivion to ease her guilt cause she knew. And then poor Violet goes and finds a man that’s just as bad because that’s all she knows 😢 Anyway now you get to wait in eager anticipation with the rest of us, cause Ren has said that he and his cinematographer Sam have plans to film a pilot to pitch to Netflix when Ren has finished treatments in Canada. All we know is that it will be in the same raw style as this trilogy, but that is enough for me to say that if Netflix doesn’t give Ren his own show, they are fools 😂
Nah i picked up on what was going on with Violet. (More of a trigger for me) and I would lost focus of the song. My mind wondered back to my past after I heard it. I had to let that go.
You got it. Inter generational cycles of violence. Ren read a newspaper article about the death of a young streetwalker and was inspired to write the story. Bardcore
Quality reaction again chief. One tip, you sometimes wind up going back further than you might want using the mouse, I always find it easier using the space bar to pause and then the left arrow goes back 5 secs for each push and then space bar again to go forward. Worth considering. Second, Seven Sins, Rens lyric video, would be something you'll absolutely eat up.
"Screech" actually had in Instagram account for a while after he "stole Ren's phone". He was posting snippets of his life leading up to the release of the song. We got to see his girlfriend and Patrick, who were probably getting it on together. We met his abusive foster father / mob boss (?). It all hinted at a situation he was desperate to escape. The last post shows a girl walking down a dark street. The compilation is on youtube, if you are interested.
You are the very best kind of reactor. You knew within the first minute of the guitar that this was Bardic (without having to read it in the comments section). Being Welsh REN is really performing is the art of the PENILLION: “ Cerdd Dant (Welsh for 'string music', or penillion) is the art of vocal improvisation over a given melody in Welsh musical tradition. The singer or (small) choir sings a counter melody over a harp melody. “ REN IS PERFORMING BOTH, CONCURRENTLY, WHILE ALSO BEING THE NARRATOR “ In Wales, during the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries, two arts flourished side by side: cerdd dafod (the craft of the tongue, poetical craft) and cerdd dant (the craft of string music). The poets and musicians were part of an all-embracing bardic system. … The art of poetry was learnt orally, i.e. examples were learnt by heart and exercises given as spoken instruction. Part of the poet or musician's craft was the ability to remember the important work of previous generations. “ You are the only person who noticed and pointed out the musical overture. Each part of the Tales begins with a distinct musical overture that not only sets the tone but also captures the character about which the Tale is being told. Ren exemplifies the overall tone of each Tale as well as mirroring each character. It’s in Screech’s tale that we see him as he actually is: a scared 14 year old boy who is literally and figuratively spiraling. JENNY: A steady and predictable tone with a steady cadence ~ UNTIL SCREECH ENTERS THE SCENE. Ren plays the underlying music as aggressively as he portrays Screech. SCREECH: It’s frenetic and aggressive. VIOLET: It’s haunting. And frenetic at the same time. Ren speaks volumes in Violet’s tale with his facial expressions he doesn’t have to actually say what is happening because say but his face tells you everything you need to know. Us A divine intervention telling her to beware? Or maybe intuition bugging her and making her so scared? Jenny walked these streets but tonight, THIS NIGHT, she felt scared, there was something was in the air…divine intervention intuition
You're exactly right. And also if fans aren't used to movies or even music the scene transitions he uses his guitar and sets the tone. But a person would also have to be perceptive of what's taking place within the story as he is the narrator the actor and the musician. It's awesome how he pulls all this off. And makes it compelling and captures your imagination.
Well caught! There's a problem with the last line (should be "a girl called Jenny and a boy called James") but Ren switched it so as to get the end of the tale to 'hit the wall'! (Nobody ever notices but you went straight back to the right section of Jenny's Tale where we meet Screech for the first time!) Lucky or hypersmart?! BTW, Ren has announced that he has a new set of tales cooking!
@@dakken74 Doh! Yes, but therefore he was only given the name Screech when he was older (school age). Jenny never had a baby called Screech. She had a baby called James!! (and was long dead before James got his nickname).
@@iamlpinthe312no. The boy was named James as it is a common name for orphans in the UK. Screech is an alias name he got while growing up. The fact that Ren says "Screech" and Jenny at the end instead of "James" is because at that moment he is talking about the past and as the narrator. As an example, the famous boxer was born Cassius Clay, but when we want to talk about him we always say Muhamnad Ali. There is also this famous actor who was born "CARLOS" but we know him as "CHUCK" NORRIS because Carlos was too "latino" to make it in Hollywood. The same happened to Kirk Douglas
Oh you're on top of it to say the word Bard 😉 a lot of people didn't even know what that is 🎸 Ren he has so many styles and he's bringing back people playing on the acoustic guitar and making music and bringing in story line 👌 and it brings all 3 together even though this is a hard story to watch 🥺 but I've watched worse on primetime on TV 😉 These were written years apart, Ren able to bring them all around together 👌 Oh by the way you'll find out he likes tracksuits 🤣 total '90s kid 😉 Fantastic reaction you give picking up on things 👏
Yes, Jenny and Screech were born together on the same day, and they died (almost) together (one street apart) on the same day, even though they spent nearly all of their short lives apart. I think the feeling of “intuition” that Jenny feels when Screech approaches might not necessarily be just the instinct of danger, but it might be something to do with the strong bond that twins have with each other. It’s three generations of abuse because Violet’s father sexually abused her and Violet’s mother knew, but said nothing - like Violet, but not like Violet.
Subbed because of your excellent articulation of your appreciation of Ren's talent. Really happy you commented on how his music is part of the story - seems similar in providing a scene transition in the same way it would for a silent movie. Look forward to you going through his varied catalog, he's amazing!
I was waiting for your WOW. I might have missed those in the previous reactions I have seen of yours but I can imagine that it is neccessary to get used to Ren.
Watched a lot a lot reactions to Ren's music over the last year, your's definitely in the top 5 smart ass ones. You get what he's saying, ist here or in Troubles or the Money game. Love it
Great reaction! Don’t listen to fools trying to claim that Violet’s dad was the real father…while possible it pretty much negates the role of Stevie even being in the story. BTW Jenny wasn’t “straight”(meaning nothing wrong with her), she was a child prostitute…high heels walking the same street thousands of times.
18:26 - LaKaine: "who's violet though" me, to the screen: "you'll find out..." 18:32 - LaKaine: "about to find out, let's go!" me, partly to the screen, partly to myself: "hah, there we go! Let's goooo!" 🥳
@@FaceFamous As a person that's currently only a little bit hard of hearing, and knows just a little bit of ASL, but has some other indirect ties to Deaf community: Thank _you_ so much!
11:40 Big Ben is not the clock but the bell. I would assume Ren knows this, but chose to go with the popular misnomer because the bar came to him and he liked it (?). Superb reaction and on point. ❤
Plot twists... Patrick wasnt in and screech girl busy, they getting it on behind his back. Jenny and screech dad was violets dad, you don't get housing on welfare at 16 in UK unless pregnant usually, hence stevie kicking off he found out
Love your reactions, you always make sure you understand what's going on and have good insight. Got a curiosity question. Did you get what he was saying about the father? Most reactors let that statement just fly by w/o any comment and I've always wondered if they don't get it or they just don't want to deal with that topic. Anyway, here for your reactions. Much love 💜
About Violets father molesting her? Yea I caught on to that. I was going to say something about it. But then I'm like well hell I'm sure everyone pretty much figured that out when he was introducing Violet. If that's the part you're referring to
@@FaceFamous check out a British guy called Rap man … he made a modern day masterpiece called Shiros story .. it’s a trilogy ! Guarantee you will loose your mind
