You are so beautiful without makeup! I’m almost 34 and already so tired of the younger beauty gurus, you give me so much hope and joy and inspiration for the aging process!!
Thank you, thank you , thank you ! Your tips and demonstration are simple, not fussy , and so easy to follow. You have such a warm and calm presence! I also appreciate you not hurrying too much as you instruct! Your small adjustments to application make a huge difference! I am also 63 years old!💓
Wow what a difference, especially with the eyes. Its actually fun to adjust the makeup from when we were young and discover an aha technique to make everything look better! Thanks for the great tips!
OMG. Your before and after pic brought me to your channel. I am 71 years young. Just recouped from laughing at myself after watching your video! I have heard a few times the various tips of "mistakes" that you so articulated on your " mistake" side, yet always, for some reason, ended up with the mistake side going out the door! I have vowed to watch your beautiful post daily while doing my less is more lifting makeup...until it sinks in! Your pic definately shows the good side vs mistake side!!! Thank you so very much!
Although the lifted side did ultimately look better on you I actually liked little bit of eyeliner on ur bottom, I think a silvery-taupey liner would bring out ur very pretty eyecolor! Thanks for great vid ❤️
This 81 year old really appreciates your tips. Must get the pixie peach because my undereyes have gotten very dark. I'm out of City lips under eye treatment.
Favorite make-up video ever! At 58, I’m searching for the techniques that can best enhance my face. This was so helpful! Thanks for doing all the work for me, and explaining *why* each tip works. I found it really helpful to have the side-by-side comparison. 😊
Thanks, Tamara! I have adjusted certain applications over time. Especially blush and shadow placement and how I shape my brows. But never ever liked any amount of eyeliner. I was blessed with naturally long lashes and always felt liner, even subtly applied, made my lashes look fake. Just a little mascara was my comfort level liking the Cheryl Tiegs era look. When I turned 40-something I started to apply a thin soft gray or brown pencil liner close to my lashes on my upper lid but was death against tight lining. Didn’t feel it was necessary. But guess what? I finally tried tight lining only a couple months ago (turning 64 soon and not even mad about it 🤣) and found I like it! It reminds me of when I didn’t wear eyeliner. Gives me needed real estate on my lids (hooded eyes), provides soft definition and helps my long lashes (still have them thanks to Vaseline at night - I swear by it) be a focal point. It’s a far more youthful look. So I just made that adjustment. This old dog….finally caved and learned a new trick. These tutorials are helpful to nudge me along. 😊
I love these types of videos! Makes me smile remembering how we used to apply our makeup when we were younger. It's been a process relearning a better way to apply our makeup in our "wiser" years! I wanted to mention an undereye corrector/concealer that I have found by Glo Skin Beauty that I am loving. Have a beautiful day!
Right?! And everything used to fit in one tiny littel case LOL. Thanks for sharing your fav conealer...always on the hunt to test good ones! Have a wonderuf week! ❤️
Beautiful make-up shades used. The left side eye make-up did make you look tired so good comparing the two sides so we could observe the difference. As usual, a very well thought out and presented video.
Oh my goodness amazing difference in the two sides. I really appreciate the blush tip. I have been using the "smile/Apple of the cheek" technique. Definitely will start blushing higher. Thanks for your tips.
I was really excited to see how you were able to make your right eye seem larger but it seems larger to begin with,,, I understand our features can appear different from side to side, thank God the 70's middle part is a thing of the past . Your beautiful lady ❤
I do occasionally enjoy a very light coat of lower mascara...especially since I discovered MAC Extended Play Gigablack Tubing Mascara...no racoon eyes!
Hi Tamara it looks great. As someone with a very round face shape I have never suited the "apply blush to the apples of the cheeks" and always have applied blush higher on the cheekbone. I never wear actual bronzer - they always look muddy, orange or a dirty yellow colour on me. I have the palest of the pale fitzpatrick one cool toned Scottish skin and so many years ago (probably around 30 years ago lol) discovered using a blush instead, at the Bobbi Brown counter. Their Antigua "bronzer" was very pink toned and I've always used a more neutral blush for this step, but truthfully only use it in the warmer months. In the colder months rather than looking sunkissed, I prefer to look like I just stepped in from the cold. I love blush and I do use it to help shape my face, but I have used it this way for a long time. The addition of highligher is what I changed in the last few years, but I've also used glowy blushes for a similar effect for a long time too. A lot of my makeup techniques came from the Bobbi Brown counter in my twenties onwards tbh and tightlining the upper lashline is something I have also done for many years. I have naturally mid blonde hair and very light brows/lashes. Many mascaras just didn't quite darken the roots of the blonde lashes enough and the makeup artist at Bobbi Brown showed me how to tightline, so it's also a technique I used for many many years. At 50 my eyes are probably where I've had to change things the most. I always had a somewhat hooded eye shape, but aging has increased the hooding. Instead of the usual daily one and done often shimmer shade, I now use about three shades - a matte light taupe in the crease and up a bit further, a mid tone in the outer half and a lighter shade from the inner to the iris. Brows are also something I now do that I didn't when I was younger, but really did any of us do much with brows then? The other thing I now use that I didn't before is a lipliner. I'm fortunate that I don't really need a colour corrector and a small amount of concealer works fine for me, so I don't have too many issues with that thankfully. One thing I have had to stop using is eyeshadow primer. Eyeshadow primers are designed to stop oil breaking through and disrupting the eyeshadow, but I have extremely dry skin and they further dry out my lids horribly making the shadows peel off through the day. I use a small amount of concealer or a cream shadow instead and set lightly with powder prior to applying my eyeshadow. Best wishes.
Thank you for adding the link to the Daily Blast. Watched, and enjoyed it. As I watched this I was thinking about how easy it was to apply makeup back in the day! You are right in every tip you provided. Enjoyed you video very much, Tamara. Many blessings...MaryEllen P.S. I did hear the thunder - yikes
Love that PF Butter Believe It Powder..it’s my new favorite & looks great on any skin tone. Smells like movie popcorn butter…not the best scent but it’s not overwhelming.
What a great video!! Thank you so much for the amazing tips. I am guilty of bringing the eyeshadow down too far as I do that circular motion like you demonstrated. I agree with the mascara on the bottom, I stopped doing that a while back and it makes such a difference! I got so many useful tips to try out and am very grateful! Have a wonderful week xoxo Debbie
Wow, this is a great tutorial! I’m going to save it and do my own side by side demo to understand how these tips work on my own 42 year old face. Thank you for making this video.
Tamara, I really get a lot of good info from your videoS and I really like your calming delivery. I took am a huge fan of the City Lips. So good for my lips and I too sleep in it as it is very moisturizing. You mentioned you often give a heads-up on sales in your newsletter. Can you tell me how to receive your newsletter please? Thank you and have a wonderful week.😊
Thank you Bobbie! I am on City Beauty's email list. Actually I am ob several companies email list...which makes for quite a few emails...but I do get notified of sales and try to share on my community page. Have a great week!!
Guilty as charged with the tightliner. I can see the difference now. No more on my bottom lid. Plus I use black where I shld switch to a dark brown. Old habits are hard to break🤪. I tried Grande Brow, worked pretty good on everything except tail! It bears repeating, you looked/sounded amazing on the show. Thanks Tamara✌
Tamara you always give me such wonderful techniques! I bought the Camo sponge a long time ago because of your recommendation (And I love it!) That’s what I love about you!! You’re still using it!, thank you! I can’t wait for two videos a week! 💕❤️
Hi Kel! I bought the much pricier original Beauty Blender at the last Ulta sale...and I still prefer the Elf sponge! I just placed an order on Elf for the new Halo Highlighter and needed a few more bucks for free shipping so I bought another sponge...can't have too many sponges! Have a great week!
Thumbs up, of course! Have you tried the Revitalash on your eyebrows? I see a difference. Sometime I think I would get a lot out of a brush “tutorial”-yes, brands, but what is it about the different brushes-shapes, texture, size that you think works best for the specific application. Thanks.😊
Hi Barbara! I was using Revitalsh on my brows but didn't think i saw much difference...I guess I need to start that again! And thanks for the suggestion on a brush video...I have one but its pretty old and out of date. I love brushes!
Wow! Very comprehensive video! I think starting tomorrow, no more lower eyeliner. I always thought it kind of closed my eye up and I can see it now. Thank you. I'm going to try the PF powder and the Bobbi Brown lipgloss. I'm the same age as you with dry skin and same coloring. Very helpful!
You're a pretty lady!! I personally will never let my hair be it's natural gray. I think you would look younger if you colored your hair. Thanks for your tips!!
Great tips in this video I’ll be sure to use. Your eyelashes are very long. I think mascara and lipstick do the most for me. Thanks and enjoy the week! ❤️ 🌸 🐶
As a natural rule-follower, I struggle with the idea of rules are meant to be broken...😄 Anyway, such good tips you gave here. The extra eyeliner and highlighter were definitely aging. Thanks, Tamara, for a great video!
Thank you Vickie! Daily Blast Live is a day time national talk show and they also post on youtube. And they invited me on their show! I was pretty nervous but they were so nice and I got so much positivie feedback. You can watch my 5 minute segment here. Enjoy! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-f8yjTyaL8dI.html
Very good video, Tamara. Thank you. I wonder how is your experience with the Lumify eye drops. Do they create dependency - need to apply every single day or you wake up with seriously red eyes? Does the effect last the whole day - or need reapplying?
Thank you! I have not experienced any dependency or rebound redness. I don't use it every single day. Just when I am going out or filming. I did ask my opthamologist about it and she said it is the ONLY whitening eye drops she approves of.
Thanks so much for all the tips! The big difference for sure is the eyeliner. The older I get the less makeup I want to use, but I do want to wear a more natural look. I am also 62. I love makeup and I don't usually don't go anywhere without it. Have you ever used the Boom products? Just wondering if you know anything about them. If you have any advice on achieving a natural look, please share your thoughts. Thanks🥰
Fabulous look, Tamara, and very instructive! Coincidentally, this very day I used my newly purchased Charlotte T blusher in exactly the same way as you used our old friend Hourglass - it's one of those Cheek to Chic duo thingys and it looks really nice. Have a great week and I hope the weather improves for you xx
@ Tamara's Timeless Beauty I loved this look😍You did so great on your appearance, you were 💯 you! Also, that's a gorgeous pallette!💫Happy Sunday, Beautiful Tamara!🌬️🌱🎈☀️Xo
Lipstick and blush make me happy. I went to lunch and it all wore off and my lips looked invisible. No color, which makes it seem like lipsticks would look darker on me than in the tube but it’s the opposite. To explain my point, look up Bobbi Brown pot rouge in pale pink - it’s bright on my cheeks but 60’s mod pale on my lips!
