Something about a peach, I just remember the creepily evil way he said peach. Or who can forget the last line between the two “DIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEE!!!!”
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Stallone were offered the lead roles but turned them down before Cage and Travolta accepted them. Just a fun fact. That would've been so awesome.
Yeah this movie was awesome no question about it especially if it's John Woo directing. Fun fact is that before Travolta and Cage accepted the lead roles they were offered to Arnold Schwarzenegger and Stallone but they turned them down. Just imagine how brutally awesome that would've been to have two heavy 80s and 90s action stars going head to head.
@Blia Yang bruh what did you say? Nicolas Cage can act, IMO he's one of the best actors out there and it shows when the script is good. He had to act in bad movies because he had financial problems but when he's in good movies no mather the lead or side cast he's a stand out from everyone. Also Travolta, he doesn't seem to care anymore but back in his prime he was amazing
@Blia Yang For me he was always excellent and he has massive amount of talent. The problem is that he doesn't know how to handle money and he was in a lot of debt which made him ruin his legacy with a lot of bad movies
@@alexandrahopkinson1748 John Travolta plays the main villain of the Thomas Jayne Punisher. It's not exactly The Usual Suspects to reveal that the big guy get killed at the end of an action movie like that. Or you could just say "...WHERE HE WENT UP AGAINST JOHN TRAVOLTA."
The line I remember was "I hate to see you go, but I love to watch you leave." I don't know why, but that stood out to me. (actually I do know, I'd heard people say it online just prior to watching it on tv. Still though."
@@DB-iw7jq It's rare someone lands a great joke in a comment section. It's even rarer that someone else takes it to another level. I don't know which person to admire more. well done, the both of you!👏
I loved the film until I realised I'd seen the directors cut ending the first few times, and not the terrible walking up the street to sub-par Oasis music ending. God that sucked. Great film concept though, amazing in this era of reboots that it was never picked up again!
I remember seeing Face/Off in the theater with my friend and we both stood up at the end and clapped. Maybe the rest of the crowd thought we were nuts, but we thought it kicked ass big time. We were in our 20s, not little kids, and just enjoyed the heck out of this movie. It was a great summer action movie, but it had emotion and heart
This movie started my love for both John Travolta and Nick Cage. i thought its was a masterpiece but i was like 7 or 8 when i first saw it. I still love it idk if its nostalgia or if its just a great movie
The original trailer for this was AWESOME. Just the slow spin around them sitting in a chair, the lights dim, and that tagline "In order to trap him...I must become him" as the actors switch...so friggin good
The two main characters' blood types reflect their antagonistic nature. Sean Archer's blood type is O negative, the universal donor, reflecting Archer's role as a police officer dedicated to serving the community. Castor Troy's is AB positive, the universal recipient, someone who takes from society without giving anything back.
Finally watched the whole film a few months back after only having caught bits and pieces on tv in the past. Had a blast with it. Really fun, silly (in a good way) action film.
Coincidentally watched this movie again tonight and then I saw this video popping up. I must say this movie aged really well and it was such a fun and emotional ride from the start. It’s not a guilty pleasure, it’s a great film.
I would watch this all the time with my dad when I was growing up. It was one of our favorites. And I am so glad that someone else out there appreciates how awesome of a job each actor had to do to act and seem like the other person. :)
One of the 10 to 15 most underrated action films of all time. John Woo's best WESTERN film he did here anyway..... VERY FEW Actors could of pulled off acting not just in their role but acting as the other actor. Legit fun very good title. @Jeremy bless you and your HUGE head of hair for reviewing this finally :). Much love good Sir :) Kudos an thank you.
Just want to say that I love just hearing you talk about movies. It’s fun and enjoyable to watch, and doesn’t have to be NEW movies, at all. Just hearing you talk about stuff YOU want to talk about makes for great content.
I completely agree with everything Jeremy said in this review. Face/Off was one of my favorite movies of the 90's. It revolved around an interesting concept, contained great action sequences, emotional moments, memorable lines, and intriguing performances by both Nic Cage and John Travolta. Also, 8:15 - 8:52 was effing hilarious, LOL
Face/Off will always have a special place in my heart. My mum raised me on her own, and this movie was regular viewing for us. She’s a die hard Travolta fan, and I’m a die hard Cage fan. We watch the film at least once a year, and since watching your this video. My mum has become a fan of your channel now.
I LOVE this movie, it's the reason I started watching films with Cage and Travolta. I've seen it dozens of times and I still completely enjoy it. I'll never forget Castor teaching Sean's daughter (and us) how to properly stab someone, the image of the blade turning is forever engraved in my mind.
All the love for Face-Off! I'm so glad your rewatch made you notice the emotional and psychological beats! I've always loved them and thought they balanced the crazy, amazing action beautifully 😊
Yep, this is one of my all time favorite movies from the 90's which I can't decide which one was best, because they are all so good and original in every aspect to keep your interested through the whole damn thing. I love it like I had to buy it along with Tombstone, ConAir, Pulp Fiction, Independence Day, Bad Boys, Braveheart, Clueless(for the lady friends), Casino, Heat(so good), Shawshank...I could go on and on and oh Terminator 2 Judgement Day started it all off that decade, I think, I dunno, either way it's on my list as all time favorites and fav 90's movies.
"I can eat a peach for hours!" was my pickup line on Hannah lol. Love this film. Please review Virtuosity with Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe. Crazy 90s flick!
it’s such a great movie! remember watching it for the first time when I was about 6-7 years old and being soooo amazed by it. Rewatched it during the quarantine again and once again was freaking SHOOK at how good it was and how it played with my emotions and feelings. And the action scenes! Sooo well done!
A mind so carefree loaded with so much passion in movie reviews. True poetry at its highest peak as we all glaze into a magical journey as him as our supreme leader in where to search for that perfect movie high. Such confidence along with charm added with a smile that can go on for days. Thank you for you are the movie messiah of this Kingdom where no one will never replace you because you are the chosen one. See you soon as another movie will be talked about, and I will gleefully await your wisdom adding to a mountain of pride, and joy as you speak high above the mountains where many followers along with fans will never leave your side. You will get nothing but thumbs up from me.
Jeremy i love the passion in your voice when describing this movie, its the same passion ive had when ever recommending this movie to anyone who hasnt seen it.
I AM SO HAPPY!! I left a dozen comments on Jeremy's "broken arrow" review asking for this one. And here it is!! I'm not saying I sparked the revolution, im just happy to be a part of it.
I don't mention enough that I love your Quarantine content. I'd rather hear you talk about an old movie you love than some random movie coming out this week that I'll never care to watch =D
Gina Gershon is awesome. She was the best part of Showgirls, since she was the only actor in the movie who realized how silly it was. Everyone else acted like they were in Citizen Kane or The Godfather.
This was the 90s action movie I saw most recently...and I was mad that I waited so long because it instantly became one of my favorites. It is overdrive all the time with this movie and I can't get enough of it; the final action scene was like a Family Guy giant chicken fight and I just loved every moment of it (I wished it went on even longer holding that manic energy).
