Pete was away so I baked mince pies and they turned out OK! Pete had made the mincemeat which is delicious (thank you Delia). Meanwhile, back at the quilt face Pete was up in the north of England doing installations and servicing. I was doing demos and servicing back in Pershore.
I was digging through my UFO pile trying to find some projects that I could finish for gifts. So check out the video for what I found and my plans.
It was a lovely start to the week when my quilt for Pete Cohen arrived. There was that moment when I thought it was lost in the post (nooooo!!!) but it arrived. Phew!
So, Pete did an unboxing which you can watch on our Instagram channel!

It was a custom quilt that his wife Hannah had started and her friend Sarah completed the top. Hannah sadly passed away on 19th May this year after a long battle with brain cancer. She was an incredible person who would start every conversation with Happy Beautiful Day. I felt honoured to be able to complete her project for Pete.
Pete had collected Michael Jordan basketball jerseys in the 80s. Now I LOVE Michael Jordan and was a big fan too but not to the extent that Pete is! I custom quilted it using an Amara with Pro-Stitcher. Some was designed in Pro-Stitcher Designer, some were standard Pro-Stitcher, I did ruler work and some free motion.
There is wonderful thing about finishing a quilt for someone. It comes alive when you quilt it. It was so important to finish the quilt for Pete and his reaction was priceless.
