About 10 years ago when FaceTime was introduced, Apple said on stage that it is going to be an open standard... I don’t understand what took so long.

It's sad that most big tech youtubers are America-centric, while most of the world population, including Europe and Asia, do not use and don't care about "deal-breakers" such as iMessage or FaceTime.

At least here in Brazil this doesn't make a difference. People are just used to use Whatsapp group call or even Discord and now Google Meet exploded because of online classes, I've never seen someone using FaceTime...

My theory is that FaceTime Links for Android is actually a clever way of having Android users 'dip their feet' in the waters of Apple and get a taste so they can hopefully convert them into blue bubble users. Will it work? I have no idea but I think Apple is certainly trying. While it's helpful for keeping people included, I think it's about money at the end of the day.

When I saw you use the Google Lens to do the math problem I typed an equation into my search bar on the computer then used my phone to test if it would compute. It did. That wasn't the surprising part; what surprised me was the fact that the camera on the phone (note 9) did not focus properly, in fact, it was blurred beyond recognition, I couldn't see the numbers properly, yet Lens was still able to decode them and come up with the correct computation on the calculator. That to me was impressive.

I notice lately while I am using facetime my eyes are changing or its like a glitch on it when your on a video call facing the phone. Looks weird to me.

Since facetime is now webbased, I think there is a very real possibility for someone to develop an unoffical Android client.

There is an app for parking. BestParking. Works in most major cities. It makes money off of paying for garages BUT.... it has a "street parking" button which tells you whether you can park in a spot between whatever hour to whatever hour.. and whether it's a metered spot or not.

When iMessage will be on Android and when the ‘replay to a message’ will be more easy like on WhatsApp or Facebook messenger, that will be more awesome.

I always just bring up Google Assistant and press the lens button from there

what they did with sending a link is smart, normally if ur on android and want to video call an iPhone user u gotta be like "oh there's this app I use can you download it" and the iPhone user doesn't want to cuz they just use facetime so it ends up being complicated, but with a link that works just fine with no app to download

I use SpotAngels for parking in NYC, does everything they are describing.

The parking thing is an app well in Minneapolis Minnesota

Google Duo: sweats nervously

Slightly different but an app called 'appy parking' does a similar thing. It locates you on the GPS and tells you the parking restrictions in plain English - Green means yes and red means no! You can even search for the nearest suitable place to park from where you'd like to be. The interface could be a lot better though but it's saved my ass multiple times. It's only available in the UK though.

i have an iphone and other apple stuff but my laptop is windows and one thing i hated was not being able to just set my laptop and use facetime there while having my iphone in my hand and now i'll be able too yasss

At 5:04 imagine if live text can be used on the parking meters and it goes direct to a website or app clip that you can pay for parking or hell. Imagine you see the large TV billboards at highways and NYC and they are promoting a tv or live show. You point live text at the billboard and you can click to go and Buy tickets to one of the shows or save the show (like Shazam does) into the live-streaming app

Google Duo isn't a bad solution for all the problems

lol the park thing isn't a thing in the US? unbelievable we in Germay already have that here (before the US 🎉😳) … here you park somwhere, put out your phone and select how long you want to park (it knows where you are based on GPS) and pay via paypal … and it tells you how long you can stay and you can even extend your parking time from your phone wherever you are.. and its telling you if the ticket is going to expire soon … and yeah, it shows if you have to pay and how much parking time you have left 😄

When will they make I-Message available to android users so Apple users aren't forced to use WhatsApp? I gave up using I-Message when half my family and friends etc were on Android phones.

When will Apple fix the iMessage experience when some people in a group text are on Android? All the apple users should still have the robust iMessage features (stickers, thumbs up, etc.), but it converts to simple text for Android users.

Tesla should implement that with their cameras and software!!
