I am struggling with what to recommend/how to treat an acne client without causing over drying or trauma to the skin. Also should you extract pustules or let them heal on their own? Hi Nerida! I am a new Esthi working in the medical field with lasers and medical based peels. However, I love skin and the science behind it. I have always been fascinated in the layers and functions of skin. However, I feel as though in school I did not get the knowledge on skin analysis and diagnosis that I desired. being in the field now for just over a year and seeing skin on a daily basis I see how much that aspect of my education fell short. I was wondering if you ever offer internships or in person workshops on skin diagnosis. I would love to feel the skin and examine up close with you and learn how to truly diagnose skin correctly. I feel it is so important in this field to inform clients properly on their skin type and proper home care.. rather than my office dynamic where we focus on medical in office treatments for correction only. I know the importance of home care and have learned a lot from your videos. I know that touching and being up close to skin is invaluable and would love to be able to soak up your knowledge.. Is there anyway I could even shadow you for a day or bring models to learn how to properly diagnose skin? Thank you - Ali New Esthetician searching for further education

I love watching you and this has been something I’ve wanted to do for 20years but chose to be a at home mom, but now they are older I enrolled in esthetician school. I am in my first week and have extreme anxiety and panic attacks at night in the morning is horrible... I’m nauseous, body is week feeling and buzzing, wake in the middle of the night drenched in sweat. With your experience and knowledge, do you know how to pull through? I'll tell you I use to use Murad and dermalogica and they irritated my skin too idk I can't get glycolic acid peels omg my face frosted I got red and hot and almost blistered I've tried retin a micro gel it irritated my face too peeling redness tender but the cream form is too occlusive lol yes I'm a hot mess I wish I lived there but I'm clear in PA

Also physical sunblocks they say are better for acne suffers because your skin doesn't get clogged because it doesn't absorb it but does it just lay on your skin and suffocate it because it's so occlusive

Great video as always 🤗👍🏼🙌🏼thank you 🙏🏽now I use to use a certain brand of mineral makeup but it had corn starch and or bismuth oxychloride both of which I've read can cause acne corn starch because it's a food derivative it can spoil I guess cause bacteria and I'm not sure why the other one caused acne or could cause it so do you agree and what brand would you recommend i know you don't like to mention brands but im at my wits end I'm so sick of acne I'm 43 now and since I've gotten off bc pills and spironolactone it's a million times worse I need your help 🙏🏽

It's not sunscreen, it's sun 🚫 block if it's based on minerals that's the reason why it's a higher SPF because it breaks down a lot slower than a sunscreen in a 30 or 45. It's because it has a physical and a chemical Block in it that's what makes it a sunblock as opposed to his sunscreen which will only have a chemical The difference in actual protection between a 30 and a 50 30 is 97% + 50 is 98% anything that has minerals is 100% protection and last longer however you still supposed to reapply it every couple of hours if you're active anyway. People need a real education about sunscreen and blocking that's part of our job

First, let me preface this by saying that I love your videos and how open you are in sharing your knowledge but, about the parrafin. How are you not contaminating it if you don't have gloves on? You're ripping the gauze and squeezing excess into tub with bare hands. Doesn't that transfer bacteria and microorganisms(especially from the patient's face) to the wax?

Okay here I go again what do you mean by a buffering face wash do you mean a wash that doesn't lather that contains retinols my skin is so bad right now I don't even want to tough my face to wash it and a clean wash cloth is too harsh I think because my skin is so sensitive too what can I do I've literally been staying in the house because I'm so embarrassed and it's really depressing me
