NE on LT with adjacent spawns versus HU is insanely tough for NE because NE cant stop the HU expo which is faster and then has to deal with the tower push to defend their own so HU mining two base the entire time. even if NE gives up own expo, and tries to take HU expo, HU now has 3-4 towers up at NE natural and he expands there. it's a bad map for 1s imo
100% i just dropped league for last season cuz, the team necesity factor in the game and the overall toxicity that you have to have and you have to endure to play the game becomes overwhelming, I'm playing age of empires 2 Definitive Edition and I just feel so much more fun, specially cuz the games are 1 vs 1 there is no one to blame there is just you and your opponent, that sometimes might be cheezy, sometimes meta, sometimes he's worst or better but what really is consistent is the Fun and the diversity on all my games! Thank you grubby for your content I really appreciate your work, and especially when you do videos like the one explaining what is being tilted and how to deal with it!!
@@louiemichaelsound i do, and you should consider visiting a psychiatrist. i say this genuinely. emotionally healthy people don't feel the need to invalidate other people's experience or feelings. or maybe you just lack manners.
The first few minutes of the game explain why i quit dota 10 years ago and never looked back. The player base just makes it such an unenjoyable experience. Dota was much more fun before it became an e-sport. This is not to blame esports but everyone started treating every match like it was life and death completely sucked the fun out. Dota was my main game starting from the earliest versions of it in warcraft 3.
Grubby got so traumatized by mobas hes thinking about not playing them again lol You know, just mute everyone, if the games were ALWAYS bad no one would be imortal 1 But meanwhile keep up the good w3 content :)
You need a team to enjoy MOBAs after you've got some basic skill. Start with finding one person to group together with, and go up from there. Every person you add decreses the chance of getting a bad player on your team. There really is no way around that. Going with randos just aint it.
Mobas are a team game. Trying to play solo is not how the game is intended to be played. It's too frustrating playing with random people that have radically different views on how to play the game.
For a long time, I’ve said that MOBAs (team games) are so popular relative to traditional RTS, and other 1v1 games, because you can blame your team. I believe, if an RTS could ever become extremely popular, relatively speaking to market share, it would be through a very well done team game mode. I’m not sure if there even is an extremely popular, competitive, non team game (none come to my mind). Perhaps a BR, but that has RNG built into the core of the game, and most people play squads in them too. Besides the obvious social aspect of team games, my theory is that this capability to diffuse responsibility allows players to continue to grind as if they were playing a slot machine. In the 1v1 world, you can generally blame balance of some kind or yourself. Most people cannot entertain this for very long and player bases diminish quickly, and drastically, from release numbers.
we briefly had a true solo moba in Eternal Return but it wasn't popular enough (partially because of the things mentioned here, mostly other reasons) and now it's only teams. still really fun though.
What you say is kinda true. There is this game on steam called War Selection. It's very abandoned now, but if you check the hours people spent on this game on steam page, you see most people have +500 hours which is a LOT for such a lesser known game. I myself and the people I play with all have +2000 hours or so. It's the 8v8 mode that made this possible. it's very dynamic to be honest and it used to be a sick game, now it's a shameless cash grab
this is absolutely accurate i also think the base building is a major factor in the lack of success people either love that or hate it....and i think the hate is warranted as a thought, even in warcraft 3, it is considered poor form to actually make someone fight down to the last building, and you are SUPPOSED to quit if you fall too far behind, because the alternative is making someone slog through 40+ minutes of hunting down farms.
About the end, I have heard the same story from Happy, that he prefers to play (at least before) against elves, but not against orcs. Thanks for the video!
They should make a gamemode, where a certain can only move a certain units. Like player 1 for the builders, player 2 for war units. Thus 2v2 or more, in the same team.
Idea for a Melon round: "HIred Military Only" Meaning, you are just allowed to get military units from buildings like tavern, mercanary camps, huts, etc. :D
Hello Grubby I'm your fun from the beginning. I was playing 6-7 years in DotA and the best time was with my team. You should find correct people to play this game. I love wc3, DotA and you 😊 Never give up bro 👍👌
You can play hundreds of other games Grubby, but your legacy will forever be linked to Warcraft 3. You and Warcraft 3 go together like cheese and crackers. If you haven't already guessed, you're the cheese 🤣👍🏻
I'm sure you have a lot of viewers who do not play WCIII anymore yet really enjoy watching your gameplay. Viewers that play dota, yet watched your vids before you touched Dota 2. Mobas are a psychic drain You should never apologize for taking a long break. We want to watch you play, doesn't matter what
