Its amazing that so many professionals from both South Africa and international experts are involved in this survey. Yet, we read constantly in the news the past few years of people caught with plants from the Cape Floral Kingdom. With all the biodiversity "experts" both local and international, what efforts are being put in place to stop poachers and protect this natural heritage? The survey data being captured will truly become "historical" data soon since once everything is mapped out the different areas and myriad species of plants will be raped and poached resulting in a barren wasteland - signaling the end of the pristine Cape Floral Kingdom. The data will be in the public domain that will enable widescale poaching even much easier to find and steal our natural biodiversity treasures. As South Africans, the Cape Floral Kingdom is our national biodiversity treasure that should be policed, documented and surveyed by South Africans without the involvement of any international agencies.

To be honest I don't buy their explanations while our people on the ground have to deal with inclement weather and related disasters. @bmerchanreina, this is why we are being touted as leaders in the field according to mainstream media reports I've heard.
