As soon as I heard "Brother Rasheed", I had to search YT for that debate to see if it's the one I had in mind. If you are from the Middle East and grew up in the satellite era around the late 90's onwards, you must have come across this guy's show in Arabic, heard the kind of fallacies he and his guests were spreading, and know how much of a joke he is. No one took his nonsense seriously. His programs always aired out of Cyprus as much as I can remember, hosted dubious guests, fake audience calls. God knows who his funders were/are. Not a source of knowledge for sure.

It is surprising and disappointing that no one (in the many reaction videos I watched and comments I read) challenged or even scrutinised the statements of the two Muslims as to the punishment for apostacy in Islam. Instead, the efforts seem to have gone into proving that Christianity was "as violent and intolerant as Islam". Where did the two Muslims get the idea that the punishment for apostacy in Islam was death? No verse in the Quran supports such claim. And the very few Hadiths pertaining to this matter do not support the claim either as they are specific about the condition of apostacy being accompanied by treason. Therefore, it is to be understood that the death penalty is the punishment for treason and not apostacy. I wish that PBD had invited knowledgeable Muslim scholars to this debate.

Notice how Williams keeps conflating "jews" with "gentiles". He quotes "acts 21", yet acts 21 SPECIFICALLY is speaking of JEWISH CHRISTIANS. They were "zealous for the law". Williams ignores that the debate over whether GENTILES should keep the law was addressed in acts 15. "The ealiest church" conclyded that GENTILES DID NOT HAVE TO KEEP THE LAW. Then a few years later in 70 AD tbe israelite state laws were all completely abolished for Jews. Now everything goes through the messiah.

If you want to know about James then you need to speak to an orthodox Christian. James is a Saint in our church. He is not Jesus biological brother because the Virgin Mary remained a perpetual virgin after giving birth to Jesus. So, your friend Paul is not the right person to analysis St James.

Once Mary’s pregnancy was exposed to Joseph he wanted to secretly divorce her but an angel of the Lord appeared to him to take Mary as his wife. Mary was very holy, and favored by God hence why she was chosen to carry the ‘uncreated God’ the Son of God in her womb. Mary and Joseph never consummated the marriage, she remained a perpetual virgin, hence why even today we still call her the Virgin Mary.
Matthew 15 suggests to me that Christ pointed out the hypocrisy of the Pharisees and in fact did not tell them to go and kill anyone Which he would have had to if he meant to uphold that commandment Instead he pointed out the break from tradition and then through example of his teachings showed his new attitude of love and compassion which radically differed from the old traditions

An important point few make is that death for blasphemy, adultery, or apostasy are not in the Quran but only in certain hadith. These hadith are not accepted by all Muslims since they contradict Allah in the Quran saying you are free to believe or not to believe. @@T-Dog-Mendez I have probably read the Quran more than Robert Spencer and definitely know more Arabic than him and have not found these verses of death. If you find any, show me. The Quran only mentions 100 lashes for the adulterer and only after four, just, sane witnesses testify to seeing the act. The conditions are intended to be impossible to meet since few meet the criteria for being just and no practicing Muslim would actually look long enough to confirm if there was actual penetration. Merely seeing them naked together is not proof for conviction. Its safe to say that most killings of alleged adulterers in Muslim nations were not according to the Quran since the conditions are impossible to meet. The Quran does however say from beginning to end that we are free to believe or not to believe and that Muhammad's task was only to deliver the Message, not to enforce it. Just read the Quran and see for yourself.
You're referring to "There is no compulsion in religion" quote from the Qur'an, right? Yeah, the Qur'an points to tempting or forcing people to abandon Islam, or even attacking them, as justification to deal with perpetrators. You however lost me over Hadith being translations of the Old Testament.
@@OmarAlikaj I didn't mean all hadith sound like the Old Testament, just these hadith about killing adulterers and apostates. From beginning to end, the Quran promotes thinking and offers us the freedom to believe or not to believe but these hadith are the opposite when they warn of death if you change your religion or leave Islam. Its impossible to accept contradictory statements at the same time.
It is only John 8:7 which is said to be not found in the oldest manuscript available. The rest of the chapter including the rest of the story about the woman caught in adultery and Jesus forgiving her and letting her go is in the oldest manuscript available.
Paul was a self admitted Herodian which = Roman double agent. Even Josephus mentioned Paul,his brother and their abuses. Paul taught doctrines that “jesus” himself goes on to berate and bash supposedly from the grave in Revelation. I’ll start from the top. Paul claims to be a relative to Herod of Chalcis aka “Herodian or the Littlest Herod” in Rom 16:10-11. Its also stated that Paul was raised with Herod the Tetrarch Acts 13:1 Now the family tree we have of the Herods show that an Antipater II who happened to be the governor over The area of Tarsus and his wife Cypros had children named Saulus/Saul (He’s referred to by both names not unusual) Costobarus and Antipater III. We all know Paul changed his name from Saul to Paul and was raised in Tarsus. Josephus adds “Costobarus also, and Saulus, did themselves get together a multitude of wicked wretches, and this because they were of the royal family; and so they obtained favour among them, because of their kindred to Agrippa; but still they used violence with the people, and were very ready to plunder those that were weaker than themselves.” Antiquities (20.9.4) Paul seemingly is given Royal treatment by the Romans in every twist and turn. Take for example his HUGE escort. Remember the Romans are nailing Jews to crosses daily dual-citizen or not, if you went against them or if they even perceived that you were, you were done. Jews were not of high value to Romans. But Paul…As soon as they hear he might be at risk they respond with an escort that can only be described as Presidential: “Get ready a detachment of two hundred soldiers, seventy horsemen and two hundred spearmen to go to Caesarea at nine tonight. 24 Provide horses for Paul so that he may be taken safely to Governor Felix.” (Acts 23:23) 200 soliders 70 horsemen 200 spearmen” To be held prisoner where?….. In Herods Palace in the governor’s quarters….Cuz ya know thats a typical place to keep prisoners awaiting trial for causing an uproar and public disturbance….Well that is if that person is a member of the Herod family helping the Romans quash a pro-Torah Judaism movement and looking to Hellenize it. Which is exactly what Paul did. Paul gives us a long dissertation in Romans 13 his famous “Pax Romana”. In which he instructed his followers to blindly follow “authority”. That this “Authority”, was ordained and sent by G-d. This is obviously referring to the Roman authority, and is probably the true reason we find the words “render unto Caesar what is Caesars” placed on the lips of Jesus. However in most denominations today it will be taught that this “Authority” is also the church and the “taxes” is your tithes a dual meaning. However Paul himself seems to struggle with authority (in regards to the “assembly” or “Jerusalem church’s” authority figures) especially James’ leadership, and his pro-Torah teaching, this really seemed to bother Paul. Pauls best account, or at least the most seemingly accurate account which proves James existed, is in Galatians. I say this because it would seem this account isn’t doctored to make Paul seem more likeable. In fact many scholars believe Paul most likely never intended for letters like Galatians or Corinthians to be canonized as scripture. Which would lend validity to this assertion. Pauls antagonism towards those in the early church in Jerusalem, that he claims are persecuting him, and whose misguided message (according to him) he abhors, becomes amply clear in Galatians. As someone who self admittedly was of lesser status in the overall hierarchy in the movement, Paul exhibits a cold and sarcastic attitude toward these leaders: “those reckoned to be something” Gal 2:6. He refers to this leadership in the most insulting terms, and he even insists he will : “Not give in or be subjected to those false teachers who spy on the freedom we enjoy in Christ Jesus, so that they might enslave us” (Gal 2:4-5) The “Freedom” being reffered to is “freedom from the law” the “slavery” is slavery to the law and the authority of the Jerusalem church. The “spying” is most likely referring to the practice of checking new converts for circumcision. This is reflected in the Dead Sea Scrolls namely Qumran documents in which this practice is mentioned: “spying upon their privy parts” These passages are concluded with one of Pauls frequent “I’m not lying!!” rants, this is important because the Qumran documents tell us about a character frequently called “the liar”. We also hear positively in them of “the Teacher of Righteousness” which is a moniker of James Jesus’ Brother who as fore-mentioned was leading the church. Paul describes how he first “made acquaintance” with Peter and says he “saw no other apostles except James the brother of the Lord” Gal 1:18-20. In doing so Pauls states clearly that he did not “go up again to Jerusalem for fourteen years” Gal 2:1 which blatantly contradicts both chronological and factual claims in Acts. But based on the Qumran documents’ hazy familiarity with this “Liar” character, it’s likely Paul (if this is him) did take his leave to grow his own movement subversively abroad. Possibly in Rome as reported. Which would add up if he was an agent of the Herodian family/Romans anyway. Paul seems to go to war with the very instructions, given by James and the Jerusalem assembly. Mentioned 3 times in Acts: Acts 15:20 but that we write to them that they abstain from things contaminated by idols and from fornication and from what is strangled and from blood. Acts 15:29 that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled and from fornication; if you keep yourselves free from such things, you will do well. Farewell.” Acts 21:25 But concerning the Gentiles who have believed, we wrote, having decided that they should abstain from meat sacrificed to idols and from blood and from what is strangled and from In 1 Corinthians 8 Paul once again sarcastically attacks this decree. A decree also sourced from the Torah itself btw in Exodus 34:15. Paul claims these brethren who hold the opinion that you shouldn’t eat it are “weak” and that you shouldn’t let your “freedom” or “rights” to eat the food sacrificed to idols be a stumbling block for the “weak”. Paul claims to hold “deeper knowledge” or superior knowledge of the true message of Jesus- which is why he has this level of discernment. Interestingly we find another VERY strange occurrence tied into this conundrum in Acts 16. When Paul meets Lydia. A dyer of Purple cloth(which means she was wealthy and influential as the Romans had taken over the techeles and argaman dying trade) . From Thyatira. This detail will be very important. Pay attention. She “opened her heart to respond to PAULS message” Pauls message. Not Jesus’ message. But Pauls. Why am i so critical of this detail you may ask. Fast forward to Revelation 2 where you supposedly have Jesus himself speaking from the grave. And he’s quite angry to say the least. Especially angry at a “Jezebel woman” who calls herself a “prophetess” from none other than Thyatira where Lydia was supposedly leading a church according to Catholic tradition. And whats got him so ticked?....Well, she teaches that its permitted “to eat food sacrificed to idols”..... I argue this is Lydia. Jesus here possibly harkens back to Pauls comment of his “Deeper Knowledge” in attacking her teaching her “deeper truths” that some translations also include the note “which are the depths of satan actually”...teachings Lydia would likely have gotten from Paul. Interestingly the Clementine Homilys 9:9 and 9:10 they claim that demons can enter your body through food sacrificed to idols. The Clement recognitions also have Lydia calling herself a “prophetess” THAT IS HUGE. Dont forget that. Now whether we are witnessing a back and forth in the New Testament of Theological differences being hashed out in a very cryptic and pseudo-scriptural gnostic way. Or the more dogmatic might posit, that Jesus is being portrayed as foretelling Pauls arrival on the scene in his sermon at the mount mentioning of someone “teaching you to forsake even the least of these laws will be called the least im the kingdom”. Something Paul was no stranger to as his stance on law keeping was very clear. He at best considers it optional. Also the prophecy of an anti-christ character may also be a subtle back handed accusation towards Paul....but this latter piece of suggestion is my own opinion based on the facts in front of me....
*I think many Muslims forget that the NT itself praised the Roman authority & its Rulers, which at that time was a form of pagan dictatorship! It containes laws for capital punishment.* *Not to mention that Jesus himself rebuked Rabbis for not applying the law against reblious children, which was death penalty!*
Williams makes the fundamental mistake of omitting the distinction between Messiah Jesus, who fulfilled the Law perfectly and glorified Jesus who has broken the Law. The moral law remains because it is universal but the religious laws go with the loss of the Temple and national laws go with the loss of Israel. The Lord worked in history to complete and confirm Messiah's mission to break the Law of Israel.
