Hello everyone! TLDR: to get a full picture of the experience and explore the hidden easter eggs, watch the first minutes of each chapter before the final definitive run starts at 40:04 (as there we already "know" those quirks). Videos mentioned in the opening: DocJade's 12x9 video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Lj17aGFp3lM.html DaveMcW's 13x9 fully automated factory with recursive blueprints: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9dzQge6pe2o.html
Just when i thought you couldnt think of a more ridiculous challenge for Factorio, i realized that was a stupid thought becuase you are clever and will surely think of something. Then, by pure happenstance, this video also came out. Hooray!
Putting Ben back in the water ... not a useful game mechanic??! ... it's the most important game mechanic in the entire playthrough!! How else would we keep up our spirits without Ben there to cheer us on the entire time, there inside his little pool of tranquility. 😂
I almost thought you have gone insane and actually gonna do this with no speed-up. Thank god, everything is fine! Also, these tiny map runs make me want a mod (acc got to check, maybe it already exists) of a treadmill that the character can run on to generate tiny amounts of electricity, lmao.
Really enjoying all your content, Mike! One of my favourite channels of all time. One gripe I have is that your voice audio suffers from a lot of popping when you speak. It seems you often get a soft pop from your mic when speaking. Don't know that much about sound to troubleshoot, but I hope you can get it fixed. Unless it is just me who hears it. Keep up the very good work!
I think my language/accent is very poppy. Already have a popfilter and I'm speaking alongside the microphone instead of directly aimed at it. Applying more filtering starts to cut off sentences starting with soft letters like f and h to much, so not really sure what else I can still do
@@MichaelHendriksLIVE Did some more "testing" since it didn't sound like pop-filter pop, but more of a clipping pop, and it was indeed that. But it is on my end, my laptop speakers pop when there's a lot happening in the background and you start speaking or say a loud word. Tried it with some higher end headphones now, and no problem. Maybe I can just add a low cut filter to fix it :) So, don't worry about it, is what I'm trying to say!
@@MichaelHendriksLIVE And after even more testing the pops are there, they are not microphone pops, but some sort of digital artifact. You can hear two pops in the left audio channel at 21:43 during the sentence: "We'll never know *pop* what's *pop* holding up all of this though..." just as an example. I'm no audio-guy so maybe someone with more know how woul be able to determine how these pops or clicks are created. Anyway, it's not a biggie, but it's been bothering me and I just wanted to let you know. Have a great one!
Micheal is there a way I can t contact you off here? I need you advice / guidance. I feel overwhelmed trying to get to a vanilla non cheat mega base going.
Try my blueprint book from discord for a good starter base, and I'm currently streaming a megabase playthrough on Twitch. Start small, use calculator, test builds in map editor, also dozens of youtubers have done tutorial style megabases. I'm not available for personal coaching though, sorry!
I think you could have fit another furnace in the mining setup by moving the water pump and pipes one tile to the left (if the pump can be placed there)
Hey Michael, how did you get EvoGUI to display the planetary days without any of the other info? Did you manually edit a config file? Loving this playthrough so far btw. Seems like an interesting challenge.
