Love the videos. They show how well things go together as well as the general quality. Looks great except for some minor issues (shock mounts) but I guess your engineers have determined they are sufficient.

Hi, the rear shocks for a solid axle car will be mounted body down for clearance purposes. Thank You Dan@FFR

Hi, Moser uses the center sections from the 05-current Mustang, so that mount was the factory upper control arm mount in the Mustang. Thank You Dan@FFR

Ahh yes. I understand. In compression that will work. It makes the entire structure rigid. I am still with you though,it could be stronger with minimal redesign. The current design does leave clearance for a wider range of shocks though. I come from a world where everything must be as strong as possible so "strong enough" makes me nervous but it is a proven design & principle that has worked fine in many vehicles. After all,if you hit whoops at 80 mph in this car you deserve a hefty repair bill.

It might also be a good idea to replace the coarse grade 5 hardware with fine 8 at the very least, if not AN or NAS.

They did answer and I think it had to do with the bolt being tensioned so the force is better moved out through the spacers instead of merely bending forces on the bolt. I guess it works and things are perhaps stronger than I might think. But I would probably not do such a design myself. I think the bolt strength and bolt tension has to be fairly specific to be in good standing in that config. But if none of their thousands of cars have ever failed there it has to be at least decent.

Hi Dan, Love the video's. Keep them coming! Makes me anxious to get one built for myself and my family. I'll be in the area around the end of August. I'd love to come by and see one done and maybe go for a ride. Take care

What rear end is used in this video? They dont sell it as an option anymore so I was curious because I wanted to put it in my MkIV.

I noticed you offer a 3-link and 4-link rear differential package. Which one is considered better? Seems like the 4 -link uses the factory mounting, whereas the 3-link has to have a bracket welded to the differential tube.

Did they ever answer you on that mount? Having years of desert racing experience I would think that would work for a street car but I would have a strong urge to reinforce or completely redesign it. Honestly,I would probably burn another tab in there to get rid of the spacer & I would box in the bottom but I am used to building for forces you will never see in a street car.

@5:46 is it me or does the angle of the control arm and rear end bracket not look in alignment? seems a wee bit off but can't imagine an oversight like that. i too wonder about that upper shock mount @8:14 although i see the lower mount having to be wide enough to clear the shock. thanks for these videos... i look forward to them!

I realize that using different rear ends are not supported officially by FFR, but what is the minimum width a rear end must be to fit the car? I have an 8.8 rear end from a dead car that is 56.5 inches flange to flange, and the 79-93 fox body mustangs supposedly have a 57 inch rear end. It doesn't look like there will be any interference, but I figured I should ask.

The shock mounts seem concerningly weak. The force is applied to a bolt as bending force because the bracket is so wide, instead of sheer force with a narrower bracket. And the bracket itself seem poorly designed for handling the forces along the shock axis. I suppose it works or more cars would have problems but still. I'd like to see high speed video of that bracket under dynamic load.

That looks like a std differential, not a limited slip. Am I wrong? I would think a limited slip differential would be high priority on a Cobra.

These videos are great! Any chance you can do an IRS demo as well?

Is the rate at which these videos are uploaded indicative of how long it takes to assemble the kits?

do these kits come with a manual, or do we have to rely on these kinds of videos to guide us through the process?
@factoryfive

Yes, the kits come with a printed assembly manual. You can purchase one early on our parts catalog as well to see what the build is like.

Im baffled at how much SAE hardware is used. That seems like it would be very annoying.

A heads up on better communication. You don't need to say "go ahead and...." every time you give an instruction. This seems to be used by many Americans who like to use more words than logically required.

Great video, but try not to say " go ahead" so much next time.

Why do all you wanna be car guys always put that horrible music in the background? But do not insist on actually syncing up the audio? SMH
