I usually take 45-50 min for a fade used this method today and averaged cut was about 35 min and they came out crispy too! Appreciate the tutorial

VERY EASY AFTER YOU DOING IT FOR A WHILE BROTHER, don't forget though you can still fade from the bottom from time to time. Everyones hair is different requiring different tachniques

As a fellow believer I appreciate this video. I am a taper king but I don’t really do ball fades bc nobody I know ask for them. But recently I’m Sunday at my church a kid wanted a bald fade and it was easier for me to fade down instead of up but your technique with the half attack seems pretty legit. I just got to remember once I make my initial bald line to to go up a whole inch with the guard opened and then continue to go into the 2 with my 1.5 guard and the way I fade clean up is easy when I fade down. Thank you !

Let me know how it goes. Be sure to still detail the fade after the initial steps, probably with a 1 gaurd and work the lever opens and closed to help with any dark spots

Thanks so much for this awesome video, this has helped me a lot! Beginner here. Anyone use the wahl cordless magic clip with premium guards and know how to get a good half attack? Been trying it and it’s definitely easier but still having trouble get a good blend.

Should work the same with a Magic Clip or and Ergo, or a Babyliss FX, or a Cordless Senior. Especially if you are using the premium guards. Be sure and use the 1 guard for added detail work and blending.

By chance I actually figured out that I needed to use the 1 guard the last time I did a cut in July (made a HUGE difference compared to the old cuts I had done) and forgot to write it down and thankfully you just confirmed that the #1 guard is 100% necessary with the magic clip. You’re great at what you do, thanks for the help!

Wahl is a weak clipper. Always use a rotary motor it will have more power. And the clippers with the handle on the side to adjust the blade is amateur.

Anybody using half attack with babyliss guard system? Babyliss 1,5guard is 4,8mm when wahl 1,5 is 4,5mm.. seems like id have to close one notch lower to even than difference.

I personally haven’t tried it with the Babyliss guards, but either way, I would always recommend coming back through with a 1 guard and do some detail work.

I use the cordless detailer as my second trimmer. I set my bald line in with them, I use on small kids, and sometimes under the neck. The FX is my go to though just about everything

A lot of it has to do with the technique you use to run the clipper along someone’s head. You really have to almost over exaggerate flicking or scooping out at the end of each stroke, until it become more natural and fluid. Also, do you use a taper blade or a fade blade?

You will need to have the weight around the parietal ridge setup for a 3 gaurd to blend into it

For you most part, I would say yes. 3, 2, set bald line, open section, 1.5, .5. Besides the open section, it’s all fading down.

It’s a mix of both. I cut the top down, then worked down until I set the bald line in and then faded it back up into where the fading down stopped!

I guess I’m confused on what fading down is then. I removed bulk on top, then worked down the side of the head. I did put the bald line in once I debulked the sides in a “downward” style way, and then I blended the bald line out blending up.

I cant even watch the entire video! After 45 yrs of Barbering, WTH . WHY are you making more work for yourself. Fade that hair up and get it done!. The end results may be wonderful. However who is teaching to cut down into the hair for a fade? This is wrong in so many ways. If you are just learning be careful!

Well I appreciate your honest feedback. For me personally, and that’s all anyone can speak for, fading down is faster and more organized. I’m open to all fading techniques, I wish the rest of the industry would follow that same mindset. To many one trick ponies out there with clippers in their hands.

It's actually alot less work because hes guard skipping, theres so many ways to fade and I would of thought with 45 years experience you would know that.
