Well it's a fail since it was entirely on the runner. He didn't keep in his mind how easy it is to do the cheat in the first place. But to be fair if he didnt know that could happen, then I would say that that's just how speedrunning is I guess through trial and error you learn how easy it is to choke and fail certain sections and segments.

someBROyoudontKNOW didn't have to GO into the pit and THROW the tournament even THOUGH it wasn't technically his fault because the scuttlebug kept a LOW PROfile and sneaked up on him and hit him into the HOLE. either way, there was NO chance of him winning the tournament
