The way he looks up when he says "my sould is celestial bound". True nerd kids are the most gentle souls. Some of the few imagineers left in this world where wonder is lost
the difference in dynamics on this live version is terrific, one of the only examples of a song that works equally well both ways. the consistent and insistent drum beat of the album version speaks more to a trance, but the live version has more variance that can be better for an audience, where it can be hard to get into that trance space, the louder and more powerful parts really elevate everything.
I'm sure it's been stated several times, but damn I wish they'd made it big. "Heliotropic" and "Another Space Song" are two of the best songs of all time.
I have always felt a void in my heart, a loneliness and a longing for connection, this song hit so hard for me. It will be forever one of my favorites.
how the bands that deserve the throne of the most influential music of all time got the money-respect-joy-fame-etc that they own? Failure, you're my life and still R.
After revisiting this video several times over the past 2 years, I think I've decided I like the way they play this live better than the album version. I do kind of like how the album version starts out better, but I do like the drum-less parts of the live version as a more varied approach to dynamics, as well as the heavier chorus. On top of that, the ending and the extra verse kick total ass. Anyone agree?
It's true, they're amazing. Their work has a way of continuously reminding you of reminding you of it. The first time I heard "mascara" by Deftones I though it reminded me of "smoking umbrellas" off Fantastic Planet.
This band is an anachronism. They are from the future but they somehow traveled into the past. 😉👍🏻 So different from their contemporaries, should have been huge. The Heart is a Monster is an amazing record
this is definitely one of my favorite songs off the album (that would be the awesomeness of "Heliotropic")... but this was THE song that got me into Fantastic Planet in the 1st place (not "Stuck on You")... this song just has a weird haunting, yet inviting tone to it. & damn, Autolux is really amazing too!!!
this was always my favorite song to listen too while high. failure really captured the feelin of bein high on opiates so well...i wonder why... check out dirty blue balloons
i love it. i pointed out that ken doesn't play guitar on this song and i get a minus. lol this is a great video though. i can't believe this whole show is up here. with such great quality too.
it's not fair I would've love to have been there,I finally got a remastered vinyl version of fantastic planet at amazon,it sound waaaay better than the cd version, vinyl has much more bandwidth to work with.
"Complaining over cover songs is just a vengeful way to declare one's individuality through others inspiration." Actually, I'm pretty sure the covers themselves do that.
