Well, they opened up for Local H on this night. After the show, I was walking out and Greg was standing in my path at the back of the theater facing the stage lighting up a cigarette. I just looked him the eyes, probably with a goofy smile, telling him that he was awesome and their set was amazing. He shook my hand and said 'Thanks' with a small little smile on his face. That's all that was said, and that's all I needed to make my night. So, yeah, he was cool, even if for a moment.
Wow. This still is one of my favorite bass lines to play. It's so sick how its distorted. I had the privilege of seeing Failure back in late '96, or early '97, honestly can't recall at this moment. But they played this live while a smoke machine was running, and the lights were going, and the sound of hearing them live blew my mind. Oh, and I met Greg Edwards too!
there's no doubt, this IS my favorite Failure song. this song still makes me grin from ear to ear & makes me crank up as loud as possible (within reason)... words just can't express how good this song is. i would've fallen in love with them then if i had been here!!!!!!
Just so it's clear, Troy was added to the live line-up after Fantastic Planet was recorded. In the studio, as well as in earlier tours and music videos, Failure was a three-piece driven mostly by Andrews and Edwards (the other guitar and bass players). Troy was a hired gun, it wasn't really 'his' band.
@devinedragoon Ken is probably better known for his production of other people's projects than he is for his own projects. Troy has probably gotten more press as a performer. They're both amazing and underrated, and great guys too.
Oh how I love this song! Reminds me of seeing them play this song on the second stage at Lollapalooza '97 and being right up in front...what an amazing band!
Damn! That's fucking awesome dude! I would love to see this guys and shake all their hands afterwords. And of course thank them for the awesome tunes they've put together! One of my favorite bands of all time!

just did a search on Troy VanLeuen(a perfect circle guitarist) and this vid came up, is he in the band or something? AWESOME drum sound, very open...Bonham would be proud!
A great song idea but it needed more time to bake I reckon. Parts of it don't fit at all and the lyrical delivery doesn't always land but the base line, drumming and synth backing are incredible

what's greg like in person, he just seems so far removed. I can't see him being into meeting his fans, as much as that doesn't make sense. I think he's a cool dude, just don't think he is as approachable as Kelli, Ken or Troy. But what do I know...never met either of em.
