Dated a girl and we listened to Fantastic Planet in its entirety on a road trip. Changed my life. We split, but this song brings those memories back, 26 years later. Sara, I hope life is great for you!!!
Same here. The song melts from wistful and sad to just freaky and radiation-based. Like a painting melting in the summer sun, leaving a disturbing image.
The problem is that not all bands are so lucky to find the original 16mm camera negatives like Ken Andrews from "Failure" did. He restored this video himself.
It slowly happens. "Jeremy" by Pearl Jam, "Zombie" by The Cranberries, "Ironic" by Alanis Morissette, "D'you know what I mean" by Oasis. There will be more.
First time I heard this song was during its daybreak in the 90's on my radio waking me up in the morning. Still gives me chills just like the day I heard it.
90s was such a great time for music. Seemed every month I was waiting for a my local record store to release a new album. Driving home, smoking cigarettes, listening to the new album in my rusty old car was the best.
Always will be one of my favorite songs by one of my favorite all time bands! I just wish the 1st verse wasn't dropped for the video but Love failure and this song!
Looks great! I remember first seeing this on MTV’s Alternative Nation and loving it then watching in horror as DJ Kennedy called it a “Nirvana rip-off.” Totally clueless!
Thanks to Maynard to introduce me to this amazing band when i heard the APC cover of "The Nurse who loved me" in 2003. I bought the Fantastic Planet CD without even listen to it, and then became one of my favorite records of all time.
This music video looks so different in a good way after watching its making on Ken's channel. I'm totally enjoying these remixing and restoring things :) Thank you for your fantastic work!
Just the best, it reminds me of every great moment of being in a band in the 90's as well as the friends I had in Austin TX at the time. Great soundtrack of the time as well as a great James Bond call back to the Spy Who Loved Me.
I had magnified . Pre Internet. I wasn’t sure if they were called magnified or failure for years. I LOVED that album to death. Finally discovered more of them about 10 years later and found , comfort. Lucky break. I was in my own little world. Had no idea other people were digging them too.
@@miameramusic mine too. Perfectly haunting. Unlike any other band. Must’ve gone on repeat on that album more than many others. You can always tell when moth ends and you feel the bass of the next song kick in.
LOVE this new revised version of the vid and master! Been in a Failure mood for a while now (a big influence on "You're Not Alone" off our new record - thanks guys!)
Just saw them on their current tour last week. Pre show they were playing clips from the filming of this video. Tons of shots of the gymnasts doing stunts in the studio.
Beautiful remastered job, as an old gem being treated with craft and dedication to bring back all its splendour. Now, this beauty shines again. Love & Regards from Argentina.
That's actually exactly what they modeled it after. If you watch the making of the video mini documentary, they talk about that concept and show the overlay of those. I just saw it and it was pretty cool
You must not listen to much rock music. They are not alike at all other than they are played at a similar pace, but note wise, melody wise not the same.
They are amazing. Steve Albini, who produced their 1st album, said "If there is any justice in the world, they would be as big as Nirvana". I think I agree.
@@miameramusic Definitely agreed. But Ken Andrews doesn't seem like the type of person to enjoy fame. Plus they had some substance abuse issues that caused the band to break which is a shame.
@@lessthanpinochet Wow, pretty insightful. And also prophetic. The name "Failure" makes so much more sense now, possibly an aversion to his own inevitable success. Sometimes that's where the most powerful art comes form.
A little detail that is cool. After seeing the Beato WMTSG video you will notice that the strings on the graphic guitar of this music video are vibrating to which ones should be being plucked. Cool little detail.
You hit the nail on the head. Everything about this song and video is epic in scope, just pure emotion and wall of sound. This is timeless, it will be cool forever.
I thought I'd drop you easily But that was not to be You burrowed like a summer tick So you invade my sleep And confuse my dreams Turn my nights to sleepless itch Stuck on you, til' the end of time I'm too tired to fight your rhyme Stuck on you, til' the end of time You've got me paralyzed Holding on the telephone I hear your midrange moan You're everywhere inside my room Even when I'm all alone I hear your mellow drone You're everywhere inside of me Stuck on you, til' the end of time I'm too tired to fight your rhyme Stuck on you, til' the end of time You've got me trapped I can't escape Your incessant whine When you beam it out All across the sky No I can't escape Your insipid rhyme When you shoot it deep Straight into my mind
