This is a boat you buy when you have limited time to spare and want to maximise your enjoyment of that time. She's bloody gorgeous to look at from every angle so you'll feel fantastic before you even step aboard for the weekend. But when you are aboard and your kids ask if they can bring 8 friends along for the day you'll answer in a relaxed voice 'sure kids we have heaps of room to spare, invite their parents along too' Big boats are hard to beat when it comes to catering to different scenarios and this Fairline will do just that.

Due to the fading light i had to rush through the walkthrough a bit faster than normal so we didn't get in the crew cabin on tender garage however we have filmed a test drive including a look through the engine bay and that video is coming separately.
I can honestly see a style of boat like this as the perfect fit for the busy man. Well on your way to a life of total freedom but not their yet and therefore you still need the convenience of speed.
I really hope you enjoy this Fairline Targa 65 GTO as much as i did. There is something about Fairline Yachts that makes me excited to be aboard as i felt this same excitement on the F33 last year. I think it's the looks of their boats that makes you feel special.
Enjoy,
Dan Jones

As a proud Brit so happy to see we are still making great boats ,it’s just a shame my lottery numbers haven’t come up yet ,carry on with your great videos mate

It is so sad that a lot of great British brands have fallen by the wayside, Mamod is about to close its doors for good, Fairline and Princess are at the forefront of their game along with Sunseeker who is now in the hands of a Chinese consortium. Princess has recently issued a profit warning.

It was such a great sunset i wish i had time to get the drone back up in the air for you guys. I think i'll plan some more sunset shoots as the boats are so enjoyable at that time of the day.

Dave; your reviews are a breath of fresh air. Your accent reminds me of 1982. What sets you apart from the rest, is your ability to test drive. This provides your subscribers with much more relevant information.

Fairline boats are made on the River Orwell in the eastern English county of Suffolk. Author Eric Blair used the name of that river with the then current King to come up with the pen name "George Orwell"

Great knowledge Andy, thanks! I want to visit their factory one day i really like the Fairline's.

@@BoatLife_DansBoatLife Fairline are actually made in the town of Oundle, in the English Midlands (about 20 miles from where I live). The factory is probably as far from the coast as you can be in England. The operation in Ipswich is the for some finishing work, final quality check and defect correction, sea testing and customer hand over. Interesting fact, 65ft is as big as Fairline can produce due to limitations in transporting by road from Oundle to Ipswich. For transporting 65ft boats many road signs, traffic lights, etc have to be removed en route.

I think the fold down table is for folding the linen.

The boat is stunning on the outside and the bow set-up is amazing! I personally didn’t like the lower deck design (colors etc) but i guess you can configure it as you want. Princess offers 4 cabins in the V65 and MUCH better performance. I would probably go for the V65. Love your videos ever since the Baia 54 one! Keep going!
@BoatLife_DansBoatLife
@BoatLife_DansBoatLife 2 года назад
Oh thanks! Geeze that Baia was awesome 😎 and I have been invited to test a Princess V Series later this year so stay tuned. Yes interior can always be configured to the owners choices. Seeing the custom fridge and tables on the Fairline tells me those blokes must be open to clients requests and I’m sure they would have a few interior colour choices

just wanted to say that you can have a 4 cabin layout on this one as well if you need extra berths (4th cabin will be with bunk beds and will be situated on port side where the lower galley and utility/storage space is on this model in the video). As for my personal preference, I would gladly sacrifice a bit of performance just to have a main deck layout as this GTO has. I like the connection and openness between main saloon and aft cockpit and how seating area wraps around so one can sit in that entire area facing the views and not the boat itself (I'm really not a fan of traditional aft cockpit layouts so this one really suits well with my preferences, plus this layout really eliminates the need for a flybridge since the space here feels so open as well).

@@k.j.r.2396 don't get me wrong, it's a spectacular boat. I am just wondering how Princess is able to offer bigger engines while maintaining an equal living space. And why owners of Fairline, Sunseeker are not 'complaining' about the performance. I am not expecting Pershing numbers, but from a boat that is meant to be driven by the owner and is considered a "sports cruiser" i would want +-30 knot cruising speeds, not top speed. I guess it depends on how the boat is being used. @BoatLife It would be interesting if Dan made a video talking about speed on the water, i.e. why so many builders have decided to have a 25 knot cruising speed (apart from the financial reasons) and maybe give us his input regarding on how usable would a high performance boat be on real life sea conditions.
@k.j.r.2396
@k.j.r.2396 2 года назад
@@didinos I'm sure Fairline could achieve equal performance numbers as Princess if they wanted to so it's possibly just their decision to cater to different type of costumers and their decision to focus a bit more on comfort and luxury at the expense of reduced performance/maintenance and operating costs. It's like comparing Bentley and Rolls Royce. Both are high end luxury cars but while Bentley focuses more on performance, acceleration, top speed and modern more youthful interior and infotainment system approach, Rolls-Royce focuses more on ultimate comfort, suspension, sound proofing technology, timeless design and bespoke options. Same thing goes for Fairline and Princess, they both focus on slightly different things and costumers will choose what they prefer depending on their lifestyles and needs.
@didinos
@didinos 2 года назад
@@k.j.r.2396 Have you seen what kind of performance Rolls Royce is offering lately? I am not expecting it to break any records in performance, but i would expect something of this price, size and style of boat to be able to cruise at 30 knots. I don't see the difference in luxury offered between the similarly priced Princess and Fairline and can't speak of comfort differences. But the V65 is 2 tons heavier than the GTO, the GTO is half a meter longer and offered with 400 less hp. This all means 12,85kg/PS (V65) vs 15kg/PS (GTO). That results in huge differences in top&cruising speeds (claimed). My main question is that obviously Fairline could put bigger engines and match the performance. I don't think anyone who pays for these boats would mind an extra 10% price bump for the performance. Especially in the Med (or Aegean where i am at) where there are so many locations you can travel to. So why are all these manufacturers building boats that cruise at 23-25 and top at 32. Bottom line, if i could ever afford something of this size, I'd go for the V65 :)
