As for the welding, I don’t mind it. Most of the infidel’s blade play comes from that screw (where the welding is on this model) being loose. After applying some JB weld into the gaps of that piece my infidel has an amazing lock up.
Pull the blade to the 'half launchd' position, reassemble the knife, and then pull the blade fully forward until the open sears close and lock the blade. It'll then work just dandy.
Titanium is 30% heavyer than aluminium .why would you assume that the steel is any cheaper than the micro tech . Pull the switch to the closed position then put it together . Sure could do without the snotty uppity attitude . Now do the micro tech .bet you see the same thing . Watched a vid. it is damn near the same! Close enough for me to get the fake .as it is a much better deal ( i wouldn't carry this knife as edc or tactical ). Much more of a toy . All these fake bashing when the rip off for the real one is what should be bashed . I call it the price of hype !
The fakes have inferior steel and lie about it. Their internals are made from inferior materials and they lie about it. The edge geometry of their blades sucks. A real Benchmade Infidel comes with, among other things, a lifetime warranty, including replacement of the blade if broken. It might be nice if you'd figure out what the fuck you're talking about before you open your piehole again and sound even more stupid than you already do.
Why would you assume the steel is any cheaper than the Microtech? The whole thing is, why not the steel? It simply stands to reason that if they're going to make a shit copy, it's all going to be shit.
It's his video, so he could do without your shitty tone. I totally get the part of your argument that 400 bucks for a knife is for most, ridiculous. However to me, it sounds like you don't have much respect for intellectual property and the price of innovation. China is CONSTANTLY taking the designs of their international customers and then either changing very little or blatantly copying every detail and selling them the world over. Pretty scummy. And it's well known that grey market copycat products use shitty pot metal in place of quality components. Just a thought.
Usually I will pop out the two pins in the button and pull it off which detaches the button from the tension springs. much easier to work on and put back together.
My best guess is that the handles are made of pot metal. The spec sheet for the clones says that is a "zinc aluminium" alloy. Also they use pot metal for quick, cheap, and easy castings. Overall it's not a bad looking clone. I would like to mill some aluminum handles and replace the heavy ones and maybe I could make a decent knife ;)
I bought one from Wish. It came with a Benchmade warranty card . Id say Benchmade hired the company out of china to make these knives which they would have to make them with the great quality Benchmade is famous for . Just like Kbar did with the TDI knives
That's not at all what happened. What happened is a china factory bought a real knife, 3d scanned it, scanned all the literature, and made a fake. Stop lying to yourself
I bought one from Wish, and I am really pleased with it. The blade did come loose once but the instructions told me to wiggle the blade and push it back in. No trouble after that.
Unless you put the screws back in it will not fire correctly . It needs to have tension with the screws back in. I wouldn’t want you working on a real one you’re absolutely right
Ya dude, that's not true at all. Is that shitbox in your profile picture assembled with the same idiotic lack of intelligence? In other words: does it run as trashy as it looks?
This must be dirt cheap to produce. Benchmade must be making a killing on the real thing. I'm presuming this design is stronger than Microtech because the blade is supported from both sides, even if the supporting metal looks terribly thin.
Christian Newby no i havent tested the blade lock metal on my microtechs. im guessing that they are titanium or a high carbon metal. but that is just a guess. for benchmade knife like the infidel, im guessing the blade locks are titanium or high carbon aswell.
Hey is there any way you could do a video add on how the leaf springs are in the knife? I have a infidel 3350 and a dime got stuck in the ejection port and long story short I took the screws out and as soon as I pulled the cover off the leaf springs came out....I can't find anyone who knows how to reassemble them...n I don't have a lisenced dealer close so they can't ship it back if I send it in...thanks
Just so you know the warranty voiding if you open a benchmade is totally not possible to enforce. Essentially they would have to lease knife to you to do so but you bought it it’s yours to do with any which way you want. They just don’t want to show stolen tech
These knifes are very easy to work on. Most people dont want to work on them due to expensive materials and not knowing how to fix them when they take them apart. If anyone has a knife that they cant get back together, shoot me a pm. I can work on them and will buy them if selling.
Well you get what you pay for, people always say fake isn't as good as real but they compare every aspect between the real and fake, you pay 10% of the real one for a fake what makes you think the fake has to be as good as real? Believe or not I've seen fake one outperform the real. I'm owner of microtech knife I paid over $500 for a otf and I love it but I ain't gonna say too much of bad things about the fake consider the price you pay for it.
xxxknives com makes tons of copies. So don't buy anything from there unless you understand they are fakes. Just letting you know, I found this out today. Really interesting video, I have always wondered what an OTF knife looks like inside!
I have to fakes and both broke . But I Took both broken clones and made one solid one . It’s perfect . But even the real bench made sucked. Microtech is way better
Here is a link to a real infidel taken apart. Your right about the milling in the blade. That is ugly and horrible welding. The real blade and internal components are just as sexy on the inside as they are on the outside. Thanks for your videos! www.jerzeedevil.com/forums/showthread.php/23727-Inside-the-Infidel-(Benchmade)
Stop bashing the fake one. It didn't cost $400 and it does exactly what the "real" one does. Most smart people would buy the clone because it costs A LOT less and does the same thing and who cares what the quality looks like on the inside because you are always looking at it from the outside. But nice video.
Lumlums LOL , Am not going to get into a pissing contest. The Infidel isn't the most expensive on the market. Look at Microtechs high end catalog. Producing a top shelf auto in the USA requires expensive man hours , expensive steel and expensive tools. People like you amaze me. Entitled to somethin 4 nuthin. Go buy from Chinese slave children , made of cheap pot metal with crappy welds. If $400 for a nice knife is too much for you then I suggest a different line of work. knifeinformer.com/benchmade-infidel-review/
I've never understood why this knife, which doesn't do anything proprietary, or revolutionary from a mechanical standpoint is designed so complexly inside.
does anyone know where a "canuck" could buy one of these in pieces of a kit sort of diy style, for the obvious reasons. I can't find them on Ali and dhgate won't ship to us frozen souls. I wish I could find a Mr Rogers that would send me the pieces in a could of birthday cards. Repinion at G mail dat com
