Do you have the millionaire mindset? Are you attracting wealth into your life or are you subconsciously repelling it? And more importantly: does any of that matter? Like, at all?

Shane I couldn't agree more. The mindset thing is great but the action is critical. And most people run into issues and believe that 'this doesn't work' and quit. They don't understand that obstacles are just part of the growth of any entrepreneur!

Well said, yes. It's all about problem solving and the goal isn't to not encounter obstacles anymore (that will never happen), the goal is to become a better problem solver.

Shane, it's the perfect video for this time of year. I think we are rushing so much to get somewhere, be somebody or be rich and I am guilty of this. I was constantly catching myself feeling stuck, not moving fast enough, and being anxious because I was always comparing myself with other people who posted their fast success on social media. Now, I am being more conscious of my day to day activities along with enjoying little things in life. I believe that if I keep moving towards the direction of my goal I will get there in the perfect timing. I believe in the law of attraction and Karma along with a strong work ethic. I think you have hit the nail right on the head.
@ActiveGrowth

Thank you for your comment, Jenny! Comparison to others can cause so much suffering. But I know what it's like. When you feel stuck, feel like you're never doing enough. I felt like that most of the time, until very recently. It took me a really long time to learn how to put just a little less pressure on myself. I hope you find your way here too, on your journey.

I agree with you and that folk’s definitely need to feel worthy and the inner work on our emotions and what we attract can sabotage There is so mich unconscious programming that sabotage us. I pray that everyone creates from joy and price their offerings based on what their heart tells them i feel will magnetize abundance. Our heart creates its own magnetic field. Sending peace and grace your way

PS: Wasn't sure why I subscribed to your newsletter (on way too many) but unsubbed tonight during a mass purge of my email lists. I think I'll go back and resubscribe. Thanks for the commentary. Now I have to prepare to calm the dogs tonight for all the illegal fireworks and gun fire that will be going off across my 'hood here in Durham. Take care and Happy New Year.

Yup, they are snake oil salesman - GREAT video - and something I have always thought and taught when I coach my clients. Real change, having a successful life/business/relationship is not something you "manifest" into, it's something you grow and evolve into. Unfortunately, it is so hard to find the help you need - because Tony Robins sold this bullshit formula - fake it until you make it. Well, I do not need someone to help me with my business or my growth who is "faking it". I need real guidance and real expertise.

Hey Shane, I was going to recommend Coffeezilla to you. Good thing I listened to your video first. .. That would have been embarrassing. 😂 My personal pet peeve are coaches coaching coaches about coaching stuff that they know very little about. I see this all the time. Especially in sales and marketing. They promise six figure income, raving tribe, blablabla. And then I see them ask in another group how they should market their stuff. Huh??? Anyhow, I switched to the thrive & active growth world almost exactly a year ago. My business has taken off since then. So thank you immensely for your wonderful products, courses, knowledge and insights that you share so generously. Wishing you an amazing 2020 and next decade. :-) Ps. are there any plans to reactivate your podcast with Hanne? (I loved that)
@ActiveGrowth
@ActiveGrowth 4 года назад
oh god, yes... I know exactly what you mean. And all the variations of it. Like: bloggers who only blog about blogging, youtubers who only youtube about being a youtuber... This whole "I promise you success doing the things I'm only succeeding at because I promise you success at it" is so dumb and so, so common. "My business has taken off since then." - love to hear that! :) No plans for the podcast. Both Hanne and myself tend to do too many things and we have to say "no" to something every once in a while. Although Hanne has said that she wants to resume the podcast sometime...

ABSOLUTELY! Just made a similar video (found your video trying to come up with thumbnail idea for this great topic) and wholeheartedly agree. Most of it is hokey, designed to sell people using fear and greed, and, in 99% of cases, is complete BS.

I'm not a big fan of Coffeezilla. I know some of the call-outs he does are deserved-but overall, he strikes me as the type of nay-sayer who would discourage me on my own entrepreneurial journey. Like he'd tell me that making money online is a scam, so give up. I remember another video I saw from a similar channel to Coffeezilla, which was critiquing investment advice on RU-vid. Basically, the guy said everyone is a scam except the people telling you to invest in index funds. Timing the market is a scam, short-term trading is a scam, stock picking is a scam, etc. It's such a negative, boring, limited view of the possibilities in life. Just because something is difficult, involves risk, and won't work for everyone, that doesn't mean it's a scam. I think a lot of the people who watch Coffeezilla do it to feel better about how they haven't succeeded yet. "It's not my fault! I was scammed." It lets people off the hook-which, if they were truly misled about an opportunity, that's great. But overall, I think a nay-saying attitude and an eagerness to dismiss things as "scams" won't serve anyone who wants to do something interesting with their life. To me, the core of the truth in Shane's video here is not that all the gurus are scams-but that massive action is what matters. You need to back-up your "belief" with execution. But personally, I do think you need both.

I can relate to your statement. I think Coffeezilla is quite toxic & immature. Seems to me that he's getting a lot of satisfaction with playing the white knight. Although there is an endless stream of bad business practices that needs to be called out but not in that a degrading manner like that. Just because he's pointing at toxic internet culture that doesn't exclude himself from being a part toxic internet culture.

Totally agree with the main sentiment. As a species, we are not yet evolved enough to manifest physical reality with thought processes. Something that seems to escape most rational thinkers. Great insight and summary - thanks.

@NaturalWays, I have to disagree with this first statement. MOST of the species, yes. I've met three who were able to manifest into the physical from thought. And no, NONE sell anything remotely online, or anywhere else. (Ok, one did paint houses, but that was to maintain and sustain in the physical realm.) After two obvious manifestations prior to much discussion, he explained he could manifest a million dollars if he wanted to. He didn't (want to) He was trying to teach me a lesson. And of course, being the young dumb*ss I was at the time, my first thought (which he also 'read', or just assumed...correctly) instantaneously was, "what's the hold up". To this day, I'm still trying to grasp what he so easily did and showed me so long ago. I think/hope 2020 is the year it all comes together. Money will have little to do with it.

Hey Shane, this is why my core coaching programme is one year long and covers their best business model and strategies according to their natural strengths, 90-day planning cycles, ensuring they have the right elements in place for their best customers to buy, accountability sessions AND we also do weekly mindset sessions so they don't self-sabotage.

Actually, I can attest to the Truth of what you're saying in this video. In the scenarios, you described the mindset would be akin to hacking at the branches while the doing part would be getting at the roots. In my personal experience, I have achieved the best results when I shot first and then aimed. Once I start doing something I'm either going to get the result or the lesson. Either way, I win. Actually, there is a universal law called the Law of Action which states we must be employed in order for us to manifest things on earth. We must engage in actions that supports our thoughts dreams, emotions and words. The Law of action states that you must do the things and perform the actions necessary to achieve what you are setting out to do.
@ActiveGrowth

Thanks for your comment! I have had the same experience with shoot first, aim second. I think of this as "forward momentum". I get the best results when I propel myself towards a goal and basically have to figure out the details on the way.

@@ActiveGrowth The One Thing says what is the one thing that we can do that will make everything else easier or unnecessary? That one thing for me has been to take imperfect actions and then adjust until I hit my target. Taking action makes the mindset thing much easier. I've found very few things that will be the "forward momentum" that you speak of. There's something to be said when you are in the trenches every day.

Meh! Cofeezilla is doing a good service unveiling some talkers... BUT saying that any course above $2K is a scam is just naive, Sam Ovens a scam? just because he found a testimonial of a guy who has made more testimonials for other courses? meh. I think Sam should charge a lot more for his stuff. Cofeezilla seems to me like those paranoid people who thinks everyone is here to rob them so they never make a dime so no one can take the "no money" away from them LOL. BTW love your stuff Shane, you are an awesome teacher, I hope I can get some of your skills!!
@ActiveGrowth
@ActiveGrowth 4 года назад
Thank you for your comment! Perhaps Cofeezilla paints with too broad of a brush sometimes. I can see where he's coming from, though. There's a huge segment of the market, I'd say 90% or more of the target market of "make money" products, who need to hear his message. These make money courses are aimed at the kind of person who shouldn't be spending a ton of money on a course like that. So the way I see it, he's addressing those 90% of people and not the 10% or fewer who may be able to discern bullshit from something useful and actually make something of it if they get a good course.
@JacksonDeanChase

Hi Shane! I agree and disagree. First of all, I think what you said is important and needs to be said as a warning against fake gurus and lazy people seeking a magic bullet instead of practical action. But I do believe mindset is just as important as action. Without a positive mindset, the actions you're likely to take and the opportunities you're likely to pursue, may be incredibly detrimental to your success. For example, I was incredibly successful in multiple businesses I hated (not even sure that's a strong enough word, LOL). I 100% regret wasting two decades of my life on them despite the six-figure incomes they provided. The personal damage they did to me had lasting repercussions in all aspects of my life. The upshot (beyond the money), was all that negativity sent me down the path of seeking personal growth and transformation. I've invested 11 years in the challenge of self-improvement and keep on investing in myself because it keeps paying off, often in ways I could never have anticipated. Part of that was adopting a "millionaire" or "abundance" mindset, changing my toxic relationship with money and disentangling my self-worth from the size of my income. I'm doing what I love now, and although it's harder than all my past businesses combined, it's infinitely more rewarding. I'd meant to do this new business (being an author) my whole life, but had the wrong mindset. I didn't put in the work, didn't believe in myself or my vision enough, so I settled for "get rich quick" schemes. I thought the money would make me happy. It didn't. And yet I kept going from one bad idea to the next because I was too afraid to really put myself out there in a way that mattered. I had foolishly tied my self-worth to my income. So to me, mindset is forever tied to action, and one without the other just doesn't work-at least not anywhere near as well as it should. Sure, action can make you money, even rich, but without mindset, it can't make you happy. Mindset puts you in the place to take the right action, to seize the right opportunity, and to surround yourself with the right people. If action is the vehicle that drives you to your goals, then mindset is the fuel AND the GPS to not only make sure you arrive, but in the right place. As always, I enjoyed your video and perspective. Keep up the great work! You're one of my favorite "gurus." 😉

Very good. I often see this and similar scammy tactics in the internet marketing world as well. They almost always use the technique of "capturing" the desperate, the ones with most needs and fewer resources, with their own fabricated "rags to riches" sob story. I'm pretty sure this technique must have a name by now, being that it's so common. I assume these people must be predatory sociopaths, how else could they sleep at night. Good thing there are videos like this and others empowering people to being able to detect them.
@ActiveGrowth
@ActiveGrowth 4 года назад
Exactly! It's the preying on the desperate and needy that is really the most awful thing about it. I don't think there's anything wrong with teaching people how to make money or even teaching mindset stuff. But making products that specifically target people who are desperate for a break and exploiting them is just horrible.

I could say “Look who’s talking, a guru himself!” You just have to flip to the “dark side” and teach bullshit. :-) Guru apparently just means “teacher” in Indian, but today we normally associate the word with a charismatic person with some spiritual inclination. You may not see yourself as charismatic, but you actually are. You’re very good at seeming honest and sincere. Probably because you are both, which could be defined as somewhat spiritual too, but who am I to say? Maybe I’m being manipulated by your charisma? :-D Anyway, as you probably understood already, I totally agree. (I’ll buy the coursecraft course too. This time I have the money.)
