As a little child, I would have been very happy even with the fake LEGO sets, I would not have mind those slight quality differences for sure. I think the knock off LEGO sets are very good alternatives for people who clearly can't afford the real LEGO. Let's be honest the real LEGO sets are way too overpriced just because of the brand and licences.
I had a bunch of fake legos! I just sorted them as an adult, I literally didn't even know lol I had some cool stuff like a castle and a big boat - in terms of lego I had some really small stuff - but I was always happy :D
Ok so I'm gonna be honest I bought a knock off brand lego republic gunship and venator,I believe there both lepin (and I hear that's the best knock off ones you could get) because I cant afford the over priced official ones.
The official price is ludicrous anyway, I'd rather get the bootleg one because by the end of the day its just gonna sit on the table for display all day
I get you man, thanks for coming forward with this. Unfortunately most around here seem to not understand the price aspect of lego vs fake. This fake one offers quite a lot am I’m absolutely impressed by its offering. I am lucky to be able to afford the real ones and don’t buy any of the knockoffs, but I understand the need for them and I highly appreciate them for what they’re offering. Growing up I had none, so the fakes would have been absolutely amazing for me!
@@Forzamon42069 most are, and the quality is not what it used to be, just look at new sets, they can't make the pieces all have the same color, like 3 shades of the same. Then minifig legs crack even without any strain, Quality is not what Lego is about anymore, it's just a marketing ploy nowadays
Lego is just money hungry that's it! If you don't compare them side by side, you won't find anything wrong on these! I recon the Chinese models are even cheaper with a bit more cut in quality.

I think if you want a very expensive lego set like Ewok village the fake is worth it as I do t have the pockets to drop hundreds of dollars on lego sets
@liam Anderson do take note that lego makes and designs its own sets, meaning it needs them to spend more on a single lego set. lepin or any other knockoffs just copy the things they make
@@Swiftk1ng in all honesty, if the user is not a pretentious prick, the Bela will probably suffice, at leas in terms of building experience and display. The Bela’s for those who either can’t afford the 2x premium of real lego, or those who want most of the experience at half the price. For the first, imho, the Bela is doing a wonderful thing.
Honestly I think the fake one is a better value. It’s half the price but is way more than half the quality, since the only major issues is prints and lacking clutch power

With Lego you’re helping pay the designers who spent hours and hours into designing and making the set as good as they could, but with Lepin they just copied the other person’s ideas and they don’t get money. So morally, I think Lego is probably better, but objectively Lepin is the better deal
I don’t see the downside of buying some fake Lego sets if you’re not planning on ever selling them, especially if you’re just getting them for your collection
I’m a plastics injection molder by trade, the difference in molding quality is immediately apparent when you showed the hinged pieces close up. Lots of poor processing errors in that one part.
Or they just don’t care about the quality. Lower quality implies less expensive equipment and materials and translates to half the price. Not a bad deal for those who can’t afford the real deal, sadly.
Ive really enjoyed all the Lepin sets I have purchased! All the flaws you point out are true, except for the mini-fig hand coming out. For display the Lepin sets are serperior, Because of cost. I still buy lego sometimes, but for retired sets, I order from ali express straight from China. I don't feel bad for Lego being ripped off, not my problem, and Lego is raping us$$$. Lepin quality has gone up dramaticly! Just bought the Lepin Jabba's sail barge for 30$! I'm a working guy and can't afford lego, this is why Lepin is thriving!
Couldn't have said it better myself. Good job i also buy lepin and lego but lepin "fake" lego is what i buy most. The quality of the Minifigures is getting better and better each year I just hope lappin and other knuckle companies are able to do mode helmets.
Indeed nothing wrong with lepin, Lego should get some competition to see prices getting dropped bc these years sets are getting overpriced and its ridiculous. I got the 2015 Lepin Millennium Falcon and the mini figures were not great but Idc, I can still go and buy the real ones if I really want them. Some pieces didn't fit together well like it is with Lego but overall it was fine. I have now the imperial star destroyed ucs first edition and the pieces are a bit loose but I glue them and its fixed (from brand King), the quality is a bit better to compare it to the MF I got from lepin. Its a retired lego set and is so expensive to get nowadays which is so ridiculous and unfair how they ask so much money for it. So I got the Lepin or King Version and it has the same problems with the magnets like lego had when you want to attach the bottom panels of the star destroyer. They aren't that strong from lepin but it was the same back then in 2002 I think when it came out bc I did my research about it so its not only Lepin that is bad in some of the actual quality. Lego was once bad in building technics or quality and they kept growing and getting better and so will lepin bc it hasn't been that long since they are here so it takes kinda time.
I also still buy Lego sets so people who say oh you buy lepin so you're not a real fan. Is like kinda bs to me. I only buy the retired lego sets from lepin that people ask crazy amounts of money for online. Also Lego ask so much money for their sets these days and something should be done about it. I like Lego and it will always be like that and if I can I will buy the Lego version but retired sets that I really want so bad I will buy from Lepin if I can't get them for a reasonable price from lego.
Lepin steals Legos work. You don't even realize what flows into a Lego Set. Sure there are overpriced ones, but many are reasonable priced when you take everything into account. Lepin just takes the design and straight up copies it. It isn't even a competetor like someone here said, they are thieves. If you can't afford real Lego, save for it or don't buy it if you are that poor. As you need to work for your money, so does the worker at Lego.
I'd say stuff like this is decent to buy Lepin of (TIE Fighters, X Wings, especially good if you need more than one) but definitely a jump down in quality with figures.
@Sonymnms 52 Lepin is counterfeit therefore is illegal. Stop supporting illegal activity. Plus, Lepin sets are literally worth nothing and if you went to sell them you would be commiting a crime.

I like buying fake legos because the price is so good and when i buy them, i always buy the SY mark because they are very similar, you can do a SY fake legos VS Real Legos

You probably already know this but if you go on Aliexpress you can get fake lego sets for so so much cheaper than ebay, a tie would be like $15-$20 and millennium falcon is $35
I have the millennium falcon and it’s really great. The minifigures look better compared to the ones in this video. It’s actually pretty close but it’s stable
honestly the printing on the knock-off looks like the printing on older lego sets, like the original Indiana jones sets or older Star Wars sets. also at 9:29 the swoosh-ability of the knock of tie fighter really shines through, truly a 10/10 play feature
There are people who unironically pay over $600 for fucking plastic bricks made for children. Don't get me wrong I love lego and always have, but the epidemic of scalpers and ludicrous prices plague original lego sets. I realise the quality is far superior and I'm not detesting that, but for a display piece that I'm not going to play with it seems reasonable. Lego elitists honestly need to shut up and understand there are those who don't want to pay their bs prices from some loser in their basement who thinks a fucking republic gunship costs $700 (real experience).

You can tell the overall plastic quality sucks on the fake one because when you smashed it, even the smallest and most tightly stuck pieces flew out. That must mean there was no friction between the pieces and they were probably slightly off-sized. But the details on these fake ones are getting very impressive.
The fake mini figures are actually slightly larger than the normal ones Also at 9:30 I was looking for the fake pilot or a piece of it to fly out of the mess, that would’ve been funny
Nothing is wrong with buying lepin, what is wrong is that they copy and make profit. What I wanna see is them getting some sort of legal rights to bring out star wars sets under their name that lego either didn't have or made or maybe sets that they don't bring out anymore like old retired sets so people can still buy it even after so many time bc many people ask a crazy amount of money for old sets which is ridiculous. I would like to see competition between lego and lepin bc it can only be good for us to see prices drop down. I'd honestly buy the fake especially moc ones because you save A LOT of money compared to getting all the parts yourself off something like brick link. I only use them for display anyway so I don't mind.

I own a few lepin sets. First off LEGO can be frickin expensive. Lepin has fair deals I own tons of LEGO and mega bloks. But with lepin I can’t really feel much of a difference in quality. So quite trying to force Disney $$$ down my throat and respect the fact that other people can’t afford certain things. (Also eBay sellers buff the prices higher than they are supposed to be)
