Fake Live edge bowl and how to save split up bowls from fire...

This is how I go about when I see that the bowls that are rough out and drying start to split, so on rare instanses I use CA glue but most of the time I would bring them back to the lathe and finish them although still green ..
That way usually you would remove splits and still have usable wood to make the bowl without any issue....
Hope this helps a bit.
disclaimer Methods that are shown works great for me and they are not only methods out there, if you find this or any other method not comfortble, please use some other way.
Thank you and enjoy

Making a change after my mind is set, is a skill I must start improving. With wood turning and Chainsaw carving. Thanks again for the lessons.

Lovely little bowl. Could have overlooked it, but you tried it and succeeded. I pulled out a core today that I wanted to turn, but the center/bottom was rotten. Instead of tossing it out I figured out a way to use it. Thanks to you and a few others for teaching me to look beyond the obvious.

And one of the lessons from today's video is to change the shape of the foot if you aren't thrilled with your first - or second - attempt. Great job. Thanks

Your techniques and your very clear explanation are really great. I have never seen videos where it is explained as well as you explain what you are doing. It is a pleasure to watch you. The band around the top looked really nice, a little contrast , and it gave something to hold on to when carrying the bowl.

I like the fake natural edge but the foot… not so sure. The foot seems too small for the height of the bowl and the beads don’t add much to the design… at least to my eye. Sorry for the negative remarks. I usually really like what you come up with 🤷🏼‍♂️ . However, I still enjoy watching your videos very much and have learned a lot from them. Thanks for sharing! Stuart 😊

Fun idea for the mock natural edge bowl. Great work buddy, I like how you keep in the parts where you are working and reworking the foot till satisfied. I think alot of guys would just cut that out and we would lose your thought process of how you're tackling the problem.
