Thanks for the initial review ... installed same wheels and A3Ws on my 17 F350 CC LB diesel last July, through discount tire. Great service all around and the tires have been great thus far as a daily driver. Will remain with this Falken model in the out years.
Just got mine from America's Tires (same place) and man such an amazing tire!!! I got 315 70 17 and way quieter and smoother than my Toyos at3 and KO2.
Just bought a set for my wife's F150. Their 3 peak mountain snow rating is a big plus for those of us living in the snow belt. She had General Grabber ATX;s which I only have great things to say about. We'll see how these compare.
Nice video, just found your channel! I just ordered a set of these for my new 24 Tundra from my local Discount Tire, they should be in middle of next week. I never knew anything road force numbers or the 3 balancing dots being aligned with the valve stem, learn something everyday. Hopefully I get 4 good tires and these last.
Baja Boss will be a step up in performance and robustness/durability (especially if you can't get 3 ply Falken), but if a bit heavier/louder/worse mpg@@RC-iv4dx
Discount is def the best out for sure. I use them as well. I love their warranty and service. I have a set of goodyear ultraterrains on my f250 and i experience the same issue picking up what seems to be half of the gravel on any given road and it seems to hold them just long enough to eject them once your going 65-70mph and then you get to hear them shoot out like rockets. Very annoying. I maybe have around 6k on them. They ride really well in dry and wet conditions and they do well in snow. I havent been in enough mud to really say how they do in mud. They also tow very well. Very quiet tire and ill say for the cost im sayisfied. I am a falken wildpeak fan as well so that my be my next choice if i decide to change. I think the gravel issue is an issue with alot of all terrain tires in general unfortunately
I just purchased my wheels from discount tires. Purchased from them and installed with warranty. They even offered a warranty for my tires on my Ram even though the tires came with my truck. As you know when it comes to the Ram 5th Gen you have to be careful with the wheel weights when installing 18 inch wheels. They took care of EVERYTHING. And they were so nice. I’m a big fan of discount tire now.
At what tire pressure did you have them set as you drove away from the tire shop. Curious how they set them initially compared to what you have been running size wise on the truck as at least in theory they should be able to be run at a slightly lower pressure due to their air volume ( based off of your axle weights and using tire inflation charts as a guideline )
Were those the 35 x 11.5 or 35 x 12.5 tires you put on your Ford. Trying to figure out what will fit on my 2018 F-350 SRW truck. Thanks for the video. Very informative!!
I know you have the RT on your dodge. How did these compare? I’m really worried about Road noise. I’m bout to buy the RT. I know you had some balance issues and that I’m not worried about that. That’s probably just a fluke. But I’m interested in the road noise with the RT. I know the AT4 are quiet.
You have to make sure that they balance your tires correctly. Everyone hates on the BFG tires but that’s because they didn’t get their tires balanced correctly.
I’m in the market and I love everything about the A/T4 but the weight. Wondering what going from a stock 275/65/18 at 41# to a LT275/70/18 at 60# will do to my power and mpg? Was originally thinking 285/70 but that’s 69#. Yikes.
@@4-LOW - 4%!!! For me (285/70/18) it was a 15% - 18% jump in the weight of a load “C” rated tire over competing load “E” rated tires! While i agree that the Falken’s are the better all-around tire, it’s still a noticeable difference in unsprung weight! Falken AT4 (load C - 69 pounds) vs Nitto Ridge Grapplers (Load E - 58 pounds) vs. Toyo AT3 (load E - 56 pounds) I’m leaning towards the Toyos based primarily on that factor!
4% heavier than competing tires in general, but they are also lighter than a lot of tires on the market. General Grabbers and several others are heavier.
