Okay from a technical perspective, this is such a great, subtle way to express the horror of this planet in such a simple way with the Dutch Tilt, never mind the music being a teasing, never ending monotone melody that's just edging you on for something exciting and great but in truth, you're left empty, soulless, happy its over but sad it couldn't be better. Perfect fit for the vibe of the setting.
I assumed this entire video was a reference to something I hadn't seen, like a montage in a real movie, a la Full Metal Jacket, or Hacksaw Ridge, or Jarhead, or something@@HazyDaze-01 This is really cool.
"The worst part of the creek isn't the bots, or the lasers, or the explosions. It's the silence between all of that. When you're wading across a shallow pond to get to a comms relay, and you realize that the only thing you hear is the water splashing against your armor and the occasional strategem hitting its mark in the next sector. I sometimes listen to the trees rustle in the wind and swear I hear voices of fallen divers. Is it weird that I only feel "normal" whenever I'm laying in a crater, covered in mud and oil, waiting for my hellbomb to detonate? Is it bad that in those lulls, in those silent moments, I hope that a commisar spots me and pops his flare? I don't know anymore. All I know now, is how to kill, and I'm damn good at it." As I read the haunting words composed by Chief Ajax, a profound sense of sorrow and empathy envelops me, weaving a tapestry of emotions that resonate deeply within my soul. The vivid portrayal of the eerie silence that permeates the desolate landscape of Malevelon Creek strikes a chord, evoking a visceral response to the harrowing realities of war. Chief Ajax's sacrifice and the sacrifices of all those who have fallen in the name of liberty, it will be remembered for generations to come. Their courage, their resilience, and their humanity serve as a beacon of hope in the darkest of times. With a heavy heart Death Captain, Waglomaom
"All I remember is the silents during our landing... Once we left our drop pods, Steel monsters stormed out of the mist, and 1 of our brother-in-arms got ripped apart by a laser... 1 of our other members went to save him, he was torched, nothing but the smell of melted metal and flesh fused together. We called for an evac as we held our ground Before I could reload, my last battle brother pieced by chain blade from his back to front. The evac didn't leave with me on, just the husk of my body, for I truly died on that planet." -13th helldiver unit A4 Jordan Beltof
When I first dived into Malevelon creek I thought it was just another planet easily liberated like all the others, I was soon corrected after I watched 2 of my brothers torn to bits in front my own eyes me and and my last companion attempted to evacuate, he gave his life so I could escape. I vow to Rage and spill as much oil as I can from henceforth. -33rd Helldiver unit chief Zenith Ier
To my fellow Creek Crawlers no matter how hard the fight we will never yield, and those who think us foolish will always be screaming when they find themselves in Creek missions…
It didn't take long for Malevelon Creek to fall: our enemy was ruthless. Efficient. But they weren't nearly fast enough. For you had already passed the torch. And because of you, we found mechs, unlocked new stratagems, shattered our enemy's resolve. Our victory - your victory - was so close, I wish you could have lived to see it. But you belong to Malevelon Creek. Your body, your armor - all burned and turned to glass. Everything… except your courage. That, you gave to us. And with it, we can rebuild...
“I thought the bugs were the worst creatures that opposed democracy but the battle of melevelon creek broke me from the inside and out I lost an arm and a leg and worst of all… my best friend”
I joined the helldivers after the fall of Melevolon Creek, they played footage of the battles in the Super Earth Military Theaters back home, i was just stationed at Fenrir 3 for the liberation and met a vet of creek, had 90 tallys on his helmet, i thought they were his confirmed kills, instead he said each tally was for each helldiver that went KIA in the fields he was droped in. can't imagine the terror those heroes felt on creek. Remember to thank the vets of creeks helldivers

Today was my first day in combat... and on Malevelon Creek. I realized that, I may not have seen the horrors of the creek yet... but- I never thought I'd have something watching me from every side. Theres always something watching you on Malevelon Creek, my friend detonated a hellbomb, something was waiting behind me, trying to get to the extraction, a hide a whole platoon firing at me as my only other teammate shouted to me "Come on! Don't fight! I'll hold em off!" We desperately defended the extraction point with flamethrowers in the end. Whats even worse.... it was on easy mode.
Look upon this world, organics, and cower. For this is only a prelude to your ultimate fate. You may fight, you may flee, you may hide, but in the end all of your struggles are futile, for we are not hindered by the weaknesses of flesh, for we are steel, we are timeless, we are your end, and there shall be NO ESCAPE.
@@Shamman2077 Gears of War Veteran here we lost Jacinto we know how it feels to lose something you love dearly. If we can survive the Locust we can sure as hell survive Termanids and Tree Robots our Lancers never tire for the COG!!!
I know.... Their robots.... They can't feel emotions..... But when I look at a automation..... I...see hatered. For us. For humanity. For everything that isn't made of metal
And on top of this the bugs are slowly creeping closer to super earth, theyre bout to take another planet. I try to stay on malevelon creek more but the terminids are actually putting up a fight
It's not the devs that need to be persuaded, it's Sony. And I hope, very soon I might add, that they listen and allow the Xbox bros to join. Plenty of Halo and Gears vets ready to fight.
The enslaved mind of the automaton will only know the silence of a still heart. Divers never backed down and the fall of the automatons is inevitable. The mind of the tormented automaton will stop at nothing and surrender is not possible. They only know the saw and blade. Bathed in death soaked fields of fighting a tormented mind raised with terror, the diver faces the worst enemy. Freedom is what will drive them back and the democratic oath we uphold...The automatons have been programed to follow order yet so have we...If we continue they will fall. We are surrounded and have called in our destiny. The 380 orbital is marked on my last location our. Sergant Thompson is missing his right leg and Jacobs died 4 miles back at out post 556.11 north. We lost daniels at 441.23 west. Michaels was taken, and a hacked transmission came from him at 441.23 where we lost daniels. The automatons are most likely holding him so as to intercept the destroyer. His suit still shows readings but there is a 2 minute jam cycle. They most likely killed him and are falsifying readings for a re deploy. I would rather die than bow to any bot. - End Transmission. Chief Petty Officer Johnson Final transmission.
