Hey guys! Sorry for the different sounding audio. I'm finally doing a big dream of I've had for almost a decade now. I'm fixing up an old boat and getting ready to sail it home. So my uploading schedule might be a little random as we find internet on route! Would you like to see a video or two on the project? Let me know. Have a fantastic day!
501st Journal Week 55 - Geonosis CT-2401 "Blue Star" It's done, Geonosis is ours. Now I truly understand why this planet strikes fear into the hearts of some of the most hardened clones and should be condemned. Everything from the land, to the weather, to the natives were arrayed against us. The main separatist stronghold and droid factories were sheltered in the cliffs and canyons making any assault from orbit impossible without correct coordinats. Which meant a full ground assault was going to be needed. First the assault forces needed a place to land. So General Skywalker led an air assault just over the main line of defenses to assemble a command post. Then the rest of us came down with Captain Appo, right into a nightmare. There were thousands of battle droids, AAT's, spider droids, and homing droids, not to mention the hundreds of geonosisian bugs that swarmed overhead raining death down on our heads. Or flying down to drag someone off to who knows where. This was made worse however with the arrival of Ventress. The mad woman tore into our ranks again and again slicing many of my brothers to pieces. The area around her was a sea of dead, some without limbs others without heads. The carnage was only brought to a stop when General Skywalker personally engaged her in a duel while the battle raged around them. It was close but none can stand against General Skywalker when he wants something done and soon she was slain. With the loss of their commander, the droids coordination fell as well and soon the 501st with Skywalker leading the way, broke through the canyon to the the factories. The factories, to our surprise, were destroyed thanks to the efforts of commando teams providing exact positions to the ships in orbit. At that point the battle was over and the remaining separatist leaders Nute Gunray and Wat Tambor surrenderd and were captured. The stories of this planet were more true than I could've possibly imagined. I thought I was battle hardened before but this was something else entirely. I just hope I never have to come back here ever again.
Technically we already know how Anakin would react to Obi-Wan’s death as there was that story arc in the Clone Wars tv show where the Jedi Council faked Obi-Wan’s death to infiltrate that kidnapping attempt of Palpatine
Gotta' say, I love these Republic-era Empire At War mods. I remember watching your Republic At War playthrough while recovering from an injury and I was hooked. You've even inspired me to buy the game myself to play this mod. Thanks so much. (For context, the injury was a bad road rash on the knee from being hit by a car while on a road trip to Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon)
Glad to see the Senator is taking care of her husband and keeping him grounded. Hopefully this shift will allow for unforseen consequences in Palpatine's plans. With Padme having greater access and influence over her husband, I can see him turning to her over the chancellor, leading to the Delegation of 2000 having the critical support needed in taking control of the senate and the Republic away from the Sith Lord.
ohh..i get that now after watching the templin vid.. might also lead to a more 'down to earth' grey bad ass force user then any of the extremes be it the eye hurting blue or red ends of the spectrum ;)
The old (now "legends") comic books had a LOT of good Ventress stories. My favorite clone-wars era comic was probably everything & anything that had Quinlan Vos, and iirc she shows up quite a bit in that.
When we talk about how the death of Obiwan would affect Anakin I feel like one of the most important things to consider is Ahsoka. If she wasn't already assigned to be Anakin's padawan, would she ever be? Would Anakin become more protective of Ahsoka if she was his padawan? How would Ahsoka's character development change? It leads to a lot more question and an even further ripple effect. Now if I remember correctly, she doesn't exist in this mod so she wouldn't be a factor as far as the version being played is concerned, but it's fun to think about.
@@josiahzabel8596 You know now that I think about it, it does sound good to be the Pentastar because they get to build venators since shack likes them.
Pentastar Alignment is the most rational warlord faction other than Empire of the Hand (Thrawns faction) with a relatively stable and non-egomaniac leader. It is also one of the strongest factions in terms of starting territory and resources, which is good for a first playthrough in a while in a pretty punishing mod.
I would take Hypori first, this way you don't have to worry about it, and then strengthen the northern area, fleet wise. once that was done take out the southern map first. I would also build a few more of those very large v shaped cruisers, (I have a bad memory for ships so insert class of ship here). Have a Great one!!
Goes without saying but Anakin could probably use more Armor in his battalion (saber tanks at least), and a artillery piece or 2 would not go amiss, maybe link him up with Ularin for bonuses he gets cut off from the core sector. Also Yoda is still chillin on Coruscant, maybe send him somewhere, i hear he likes Kashik. You have a boat? AWSOME! Shacks the captain now.
I would reccomend recommiting Anakin and the 501st to the "north" in order to reinforce Ularins fleet and resume the push. Have Commander Cody and the 212th take over the outer Rim sieges with Secura, Delta Squad and the fleet with the Praetor in it.
Why don't you move Admiral Dao to take over the northern front, then you can take Yularen south to the outer rim as a calming presence for Anakin with loss of Obi-Wan and that way the senate will feel better about having the reckless Jedi General in command
Hey Shack, before you said anything about it everything seemed about the same to me over laptop speakers. Great episode, epic battle. Good luck with the boat!
Hey Captain, If I were you I build up a little secret task force and have them try to disable the Capital of The Confederates. because sooner or later they're going to build a space station with all the upgrades and start spawning all kinds of big threats. So its best, for now, to give them a headache and slow them down also just take on the Hutts already the sooner you take them out the more easily it will be to move your troops!
Fun fact: Obi - Wan didn’t say nothing happens by accident, it was Qui Gon Jinn, that just shows how much Anakin liked him. (Although Kenobi would say a few things every now and then that Qui Gon said precisely)
Consolidate ground and space forces from the worlds that can't be invaded and then reorganize the fleets for each theater, thats what i used to do when i play old OG empires at war way back when lol
I personally think anakin would be harder to sway after losing his master It just doesn't make sense to betray the dreams of someone he cared about Especially since this would be the only person who Never turned his back on anakin
could been an interesting personality and mental development of Anakin if he developed an awareness of both sids and the councils indirect manipulation far earlier thanks to say padme perhaps helping him see some ..analogues.. with the corrupt senate and the mentioned things hmm.. also..this is why large maps and more freedom with more units is way more fun then tiny maps ;) though i wonder if ventress would been such a problem if shack made use of some of the build pads to assert some stratigic pressure rather then only using them as combat pressure.
Watching this the only thing I could think was you need the 99th. Don't know they're even in the game or what use they might have been in this particular situation but just thought that wouldn't shut up.
It's rather funny you mentioned just getting your own sailing boat as I've just been watching a 7 Days To Die series by Sl1pg8r earlier today where he was discussing him getting a sailing boat and selling his house and living on it perminantly
yet another glorious day for the grand army of the republic shed and shack are getting work done now that we have geonosis and big droid foundry's are shut down we got those separatists fearing us now is the time to strike when there planets and hold out's are most vulnerable! :)
Maybe after you take sullust, mustafar, and christophsis, make sure to at least blockade the other planets so the sepratists won’t take it back before you head north
Shack, all Jedi and Sith heroes don't take damage from infantry. Instead it makes them heal faster. Use anything to take them out except hordes of infantry.
At the very least I can see Anakin becoming hellbent on hunting down whoever killed Obiwan, whoever ordered it and Dooku as the guy at the top. Kinda like he was on Tatooine after the death of his mother, him keeping his spot in the jedi would completely depend on whether another jedi (aside from Ahsoka) comes across him at this time and if so could see a lot of political maneuvering between the senate and the jedi order as the order recalls him at minimum but the senate tries to keep the effective war hero out on the front line where he can do the most good.
Also is there an Ahsoka hero in this (stepping up to help Anakin in his hunt for revenge)? Or Siri Tachi or Satine? they'd make good characters in the narrative with Obi-wan's death making them step to the forefront in his memory/discarding her pacifism in order to get revenge for the death of Obiwan (maybe with the caveat that you need to Mandalore's space in order to trigger her recruitment event (ie. her blasting her way off the planet with a mandalorian warship/mandalorian defence fleet to join up with the Republic)).
Also I'd suggest smash Hypori so you don't have an enemy stronghold with who knows what fleet and production facilities in your backline, especially when it only has a single jump to hit a couple of very important worlds and only two in order to hit what is arguably one of the most important worlds in the outer rim.
I feel like with the loss of Obi Wan, and with Anakin's military success (along with being the chosen one), Anakin would most likely get put on the Jedi council. I feel like Obi Wan would've learned to be a force ghost as well, further preventing his turn to the dark side.
So Kenobi just gets evaporated in seconds by bikes, but Ventress eats six squads of fire point-blank, kills them all and escapes. That is some bullshit.
I Will be commenting again about how our beloved captain have not built any phase 2 ark troopers I mean come on every one knows we must have 5s and jessy in the 501st
Since obi-wan is gone that changes the whole story now anakin doesn’t become machine Darth Vader and Obi-wan doesn’t take Luke to tattoine or to the rebels which means he doesn’t destroy the Death Star and could be the end of the alliance
I used two A6’s to take genosis, OhOhOh here is an Idea. Just for fun and because you will be A Captain soon(congratulations By the Way). How about a vanilla play though on hardest difficulty to see how fast you can beat the game. You or the audience chooses Rebels or Empire. What do all think 👍or👎?
My star wars theory for Anakin losing Obi-Wan: Anakin slips further down the Dark Side (He's already been seen having anger issues which is canon) being supported by Emperor Palpatine behind the line of being a Chancellor. Anakin not realizing this takes his support until we get later and Anakin finds out the Chancellor was actually the evil sith lord controlling the CIS. Angered still by Obi-Wan's death, he enacts his revenge by assaulting the Capital and killing the Chancellor. The Jedi Council disproves of this decision to kill with anger, even with being the one who killed the sith master Palpatine, he is removed as a Jedi from the Jedi high council but as a reward for defeating Palpatine he is able to retain his lightsaber. Anakin, being able to finally get his revenge for his Master returns to his teaching Obi-Wan taught him and was able to regain a stable set of mind. Anakin understands why the Jedi council made their decision and leaves with no issue, says his goodbyes. Anakin and Padme agree to move to Naboo and continue a happy life with 2 kids named Luke and Leia. Where both were extremely force sensitive and where able to be adopted into the still satanding Jedi Academy on Coruscant.
Honestly it was obiwon who led him to the dark side.. because he kept questioning Anakin and pushing him.. if you notice even Anakin said he push him and obiwon admit it was his fault.. everyone worn obiwon to trust in him.. if you think Anakin was to bring balance not to over all force but to obiwon force.. hence it was fulfilled at the end when he turn to Vader.. Meaning with out obiwon there be no vader...
As much as I want to, I just dont like this mod, which is a real shame because I can see the work thats gone into it and it has a bunch of cool mechanics. Maybe it's because Im more used to AotR, or the remake mod and the combat balance in those. Loving the playthrough though
