Fall of The Republic - We Need More Clones #25

AI using a solid physics rule for the hypervelocity cannon to shield their weaker ships by literally placing a far tankier one between the weaker ship and the shot was something I did not expect to see. Great discovery!

501st Journal Week 57 - Hypori CT-2401 "Blue Star" Hypori is now under Republic control. With much of the Legion needing some well deserved rest after taking Geonosis, General Skywalker and Captain Rex decided to take some of the 501st's best and most healthy platoons and split the Legion. Half staying with the General on Geonosis and the other half would go with the Captain to Hypori, which included my squad. It was as we suspected, the world was almost as thick with droids as Geonosis. However this time we knew what to expect from these fortress worlds and the lessons learned in blood on Geonosis were made far more effective here. The Captain led the assault from our platoon's AT-TE and started to cut into the enemy's lines until we hit the main force. The droids as always were relentless, throwing themselves against us again and again, causing heavy damage to our walker. Realising that if we lost that walker we'd be overwhelmed, my squad's rejected mechanic, "Grease Trap" got to work. He was supposed to originally be slated for engineering but scored too high on his marksmanship so the stuck him as a frontline clone. He set up a makeshift repair bay just behind our line and started patching up our walker with blaster bolts landing all around. More than once I even saw him rushing out in between the lines to rip something out of a destroyed separatist vehicle and bring it back, needless to say the amount of fire between the two sides suddenly increased whenever he did. Thanks to his bravery we were able to keep our walker intact and smash through the enemy line and scrap those lousy clankers and remove the separatist presence from Hypori with minimal losses. We've done so much fighting in the last two weeks then we have for the entire war so far. When they told us that we were born for war I thought that it was just all talk, but when I look at all we've been able to acomplish under these circumstances, I can't help but feel like we really are the best soldiers in the galaxy.

I just graduated college. That means I can now devote my school computer to Empire at War! I’m playing as the CIS, and have lost many of my planets… but Kamino, and the whole southwest of the map is mine!

Since Yularen failed I suggest sending Tarkins fleet. Tarkin has been up at the ranks standing by watching Yularen waste good ships, i think its time their fleets switch positions

30:05 If it ever comes up, I believe the hypervelocity cannon does 3,000 hull damage, so you could calculate the number of shots. That means the Lucrehulk battleship would take 9 shots to kill if you were wondering

From a RP perspective, I wonder what effect that Anakin letting Rex and the 501st invade a planet by themselves would have on the galaxy. After all, clones aren't considered people by most Republic citizens and Republic Command, and a lot of people think they're not intelligent enough to lead. Rex just singlehandedly proved the clone haters wrong, and on one of the CIS's most valuable worlds. I'm guessing he's about to be famous among his men, and infamous among the non-clone officer corps.

Rex has probably one of the biggest health bonuses. Rex has never failed me and the 501st. And you can still keep your original fighters just you'll also get proto ties added in to fighter arsenal.

20:00 Good news! I'm pretty sure that Hero the Seps lost at Anaxes was in some Monster HAG gun from the Clone Wars show and might have been a pain to fight. So Problem avoided for the time being!

Tactics 101 Hyper velocity gun If the enemy has split up, fire on the closest ship first, not the furthest. Trying to take out that bulwark, which wasn’t a threat, you allowed the second bulwark and the Providence to get into range, killing your station. You want to keep your station alive as long as possible, giving you the most chances to destroy enemy ships.

Hey captain I have a name for the suggestion box for the catamaran. Whats the one ship in DS9 which survived through all 7 seasons? Whats the one ship which was the first through the wormhole, crashed and was shot at so many times over, was fairly small but also pretty big, is possibly O'Brian's favorite one and totally deserves a spot at the starfleet museum? The Runabout, Rio Grande

I think Shack focusing on the providence in that last battle was a mistake. It was out of the fight when he finished it with the hyper velocity cannon. May have been better to focus down the ships closer to his Venator line then go for the donut.

Yularen's fleet morale must be tanking.

So after winning a CIS campaign, I started a Republic campaign since I haven’t played them since the update. The first thing I did was take every available starting unit I could and I took Foerost. I was expecting it to actually work, but it did. An epic start to the campaign.

i wasnt keen on the 'republic T.I.E. fighter' either, so made a local submod and modded that out and altered a number of other things, i get that its a 'legends' focused game, and republic T.I.E. are canon, but they are not TV/Film canon, but comics or novels, i grew up with the mindset that TIE fighters were the tool of the evil empire, and nothing else, so i added some code to one of the scripts to make the T.I.E. fighters only spawn if you support palpatine/order 66

Should have not put the third shot into the providence, it was disabled. the bullwark was the ship that needed damage.

Cardia is the main stormtrooper training planet as well as hosting one of the more prestigious naval and army academies

Need to get a Praetor or a Mandatory up there

Shack may not trust clones, but he sure will use them to the best of his abilities

A word of advice. Be very weary of the independent forces. They can become a real pain in the side.

Yularen really does need a break from getting pounded on all the time. You might want to switch him out with Tarkin's fleet and the Pride of the Core.

Shack some planets that aren’t on the front line have orbital and ground units. I don’t think they are needed there so maybe you should send them to the front lines?

You actually can kill a bulllwalk 2 with 2 shots as well ^^ so you could have killed it instead of firing at the protected one ... unless the mod changed the strength of them because i remember killing a providence with 2 shots as well hmmmm

Glad I saw this, my favorite series of yours by far! For some reason it didn't show up in my sub feed, strange.

He could have just focused the providence when he realised the bullwerk was being shielded then he would not of had to waste shots into it when the main fleet turned up.

Once you have naboo you should spam thier pretty star fighters

Don't end a fight after you have definitly lost everthing. Auto resolve and let the fates decid a group of fighters can take out a capital ship.

I have a two questions. Whit is the time frame between the republic and the empire? what type of civilization Starwars is on the Kardashev scale?

you will need to get the ties at some point as the CIS will get more powerfull fighters to beat out your fighters if you don't

Captain Shack what if The Clones all looked like you? LOL. Shack please be careful sailing. With the Climate collapsing(evident of 2 weeks ago 8 storm wide historic storm)the gulf streams are collapsing as well. So waves hitting the shore are going to start being 50-70ft so please be cautious. You are a very nice person and I'd hate for anything to happen to you and your wife.

It is so infuriating so watch shack use the hyper V gun in the worst possible way ^^ even if the dreadnaught wasn't destroyed outright, it did get practically disabled. He could have done the same with the bulwark and if he had just spent 20 more seconds to properly position the vanators, they wouldn't get focused down one by one all the time. Thats the whole point of a ship of the line
