Any suggestions for women who need a business casual or formal clothing for work and less formal but still nice clothing for day off? Creating two capsule wardrobes feels overwhelming… Please help!
@@laurapicchiolechi4203 if you only have 1-2 days off a week then just buy 2-3 outfits for those days - a mini capsule. I am currently working remote 3 days a week so I only work 2 days in the office so I have 3 work dresses, 1 pr of work shoes and a cardigan which goes with all the dresses. I swap jewellery and scarves to change the look if I want.
I would love for you to model the clothing that you choose to send back in the future, even for color reasons, as that would be very instructive for us. PS You are amazing.
Of all the videos I’ve watched over the years on style and wardrobe, yours are by far the best. Your style is so beautiful, a cut above everyone else’s and attainable. Thank you for the constant encouragement to step it up in a world that has become increasingly lazy-even in dress.
I absolutely love your style, especially in the age of the Instagram “influencer” look-alikes. May we all have the courage to be who we are and wear what makes us feel beautiful.
You nailed that. I am so sick of everyone looking the same! Same hair, face, makeup, clothes, decor everything! I can't believe how generic everyone is. I love personality.
Jennifer, I'd love to learn from you how you manage your children's wardrobes. As we transition into fall, I'm currently working to change my children to a capsule wardrobe and could use some insight. I wondered if this is something that you do and what tips you might have to share? I am so thankful for you.
Same here. I would really appreciate if you could do a video on kids clothing. I am blessed with a 13 yr old son,11 yr old daughter, a 3 yr old toddler and 1 yr old.
Everything is so lovely - classy and sophisticated. I am always thrilled when you bring back pieces from a previous season. They not only look new but is almost like meeting new friends - and then we get to see how you will style them for the upcoming season. So much fun!
Hi Jennifer, I found your channel only a few weeks ago and I’m obsessed!! I also just ordered your book lessons from madame chic and I can’t wait to begin reading it while I have my tea time💕☺️ thank you so much for all your work. I have a wonderful mother but she’s more of a working mom type who doesn’t have time for all the elegance stuff. She’s overjoyed that I embrace my femininity but feels sorry that she can’t teach me the little details about home making and etiquette. Therefore, channels like yours are so incredibly helpful and I can’t thank you enough for your commitment to producing such great content for all of us! Really, may the Lord bless you💕
Loving those black trousers. Of course I can’t wear anything like that now at 27 weeks pregnant 😁 Thanks for this update Jennifer. Can’t wait to see part 2.
I so agree that we should express our personal style without worrying about other people's opinion. For example, I always wear hats to church even though no one else does. My eyes are sensitive to sunlight as well as bright indoor lighting, so the hats are my replacement for sunglasses. I have accumulated my beautiful hats over many years and it makes me so happy to still wear them at age 66. By the way, I love those jumpsuits ~ they look great on you!
❤️❤️❤️ I have a non-fiction book recommendation for you Jennifer. "Essentialism" by Greg McKeown. I think you will enjoy some of the ideas in the book. I find it relates to your philosophy on clothing and food in the way you deliberately choose less but better quality. He applies this concept to others areas of life too. Take care ☺️
That skye dress really is fancy, but literally one of the prettiest dresses I’ve ever seen, love the shoulders and the tiered skirt is wowzers. Kind of a downtown abbey look, I got a dress with that vibe this weekend as well and I’m here for it. Love your jumpsuits too, I want one!
So happy to see your jumpsuits, as I have added a “boilersuit” to my fall capsule--I actually like yours a little better because of the short sleeves. Mine has long sleeves, which may be too warm for me when I’m working around the house, but otherwise I love it!
Your children must be thinking they have the most stylishly-dressed mother in the neighborhood. From the fabulous jumpsuits (love the Mont Kiji scarf with it) to that gorgeous dress, you live in a way that is refined, polished and practical. The Lilysilk offerings are so nice, too. I do love it that you love to "elevate your everyday style" and this is something you've taught me. Now, about Framebridge, oh my goodness, what a wonderful idea for framing artwork. I'm sold on it.
I adore that black dress on you! So so chic! I checked it out via your link and it’s even cuter on you than it is on the model. It’s obviously a perfect cut for you. 💕
I love your preemptive criticisms of the jumpsuits! While I don’t like them, it inspires me to choose things I like , rather than worrying about if other people will think I look odd in the clothes I’ve chosen! Also, I had no idea you had art or a shop, I will definitely check it out!
Thank you for the inspiration and encouragement! I have a life-long love of pinafore dresses and smocks, maybe from my childhood love of Laura Ingall’s books. I am starting to follow my own heart. Have a wonderful day!
Wow, you are such a breath of fresh air. I love all your recommendations. I can't wait to get home tonight and look up some of these pieces. Thank you so much for your help for style strugglers like me lol 🌈🌹🥰✝💎🙏💌 Have a beautiful and blessed day Jennifer! xoxo
I'm so excited!! I finally have a ten item wardrobe (well almost 10 items). I agonised over it, consulted a style guru and finally have some beautiful clothes that suit me and my slightly quirky vintage elegant style; they make me feel lovely. I still have a few nightwear items to get, and another pair of shoes but I feel so presentable and put together. Thank you so much for the inspiration.
I absolutely love the black dress!!! The silk is elegant and lovely and the jumpsuits are very comfortable looking. You are always such inspiration for me. It seems every season Ia now getting closer and closer to a 10 item wardrobe just because I am getting choosier about my prices and what I wear and what looks good on me. God bless you
Hello Jennifer!!! Loved the black dress, although I think it is an evening dress, or at least for a formal occasion. I wouldn’t consider it a daily one. But it´s lovely!!!! I am not fond of jumpsuits, but those two, specially the tan one looks fantastic on you!!!
Ohio here. Cleaning my walk in closet. Taking summer things out. Pitching some sandals, etc. I bought one complete outfit for Fall/Winter. Brown/black. I now need to bring out my other Fall/Winter clothes to create outfits. Wish me luck.
Love all the new items! The black dress is so unique. Love it! And of course, you always rock the jumpsuits. Love both the black and the tan and I'm glad you're keeping both. I've been too chicken to try the jumpsuit, but you're inspiring my to give them a try :-)
A little trick to wear silk in colder regions : wear a pair of thermal underpants, so very useful. It won't show. No, they're not reserved to elderly gentlemen living in draughty castles ! You can also purchase thermal underwear, either sleeveless, or short-sleeved or long-sleeved , to wear underneath your blouses or tops. Heavenly warm, and the modern one, even from Damart, now come in very discreet skin-coloured hues, and the very best are half-silk half-thermal or 100% pure silk or 100% mohair. Princess Diana's used to wear them under her most elegant gowns, even evening gowns;
I love your style! Here are a few items I’ve added to my be on the lookout for list: a white silk button up shirt, a pair of black joggers, mom jeans, and a ballerina sweater.
Love this! I was flown out of state two months ago to give birth- had NO time to pack and won't be back home till probably New Years. She can't go home till she heals up from several surgeries. I have had to start over with clothes and having the ten item wardrobe in mind has saved us a ton of money. Realizing that if I have ten pieces and have picked classics that will go with everything is really really really helpful.
Great choices for the Fall/winter season. Love the Skye dress-you look fabulous in it. It looks like a special occasion dress to me. I live in the N US and silk pants would not work but yours looked very nice. We each have our own unique style.....it would be boring if we all dresses the same. God made us unique-let's keep it that way.
I love all of those items, especially the jump suits! They are so practical and versital. They are my go to uniform, that and a nice pair of jeans and a black turtleneck or sweater. Find what makes you feel your best!
Yes 👏 I love jeans and a turtleneck in fall/winter and jeans and a quality white T shirt in summer/spring. They are my go to on days when casual is what I need. They still look good and very presentable.
I love my LilySilk joggers, too. I wish they would make them in more basic colors, like brown, navy, olive, gray, etc., I would get them all. With a silk shirt or silk jersey top, they make the most comfortable around-the-house winter outfit, ever.
I always enjoy your fashion and wardrobe videos. Check out Boden for dresses if you haven’t already. Their Autumn collection is out now and it’s gorgeous. I actually online shop at Boden because you mentioned them a few years back! 😃
You look great in all these outfits! Don’t worry about what others say. The public may not realize that what you are saying is to find clothes that look and feel good on oneself.
Hello Jennifer, I watch while getting ready in the morning with the CC on-- today's CC is VERY strange. I had to turn off my hair dryer and re-watch the video to make sure you weren't really saying what was being typed on the screen. You probably want to remove it.
Jennifer, everything like just beautiful on you! Seriously, every single piece. I think the dress is more of a special piece for dressy occasions. I want it!;) actually in looking at all the pieces you showed her! Can't wait to see more!
The Skye dress reminds me a bit of a modernized Mary Poppins. Which means I love it. (Also, the jumpsuits look amazing! Honestly, going on a safari these days sounds so good so if an outfit inspires that, all the better!)
Jennifer, I get so inspired by your videos! Your warm and encouraging communication style makes me feel more confident and eager to pursue my own inner madame chic!
Have you tried wearing a turtle neck top or a sweater on top of that floral sleeveless dress? If the shirt is also a bit on the thin side, try wearing it under the sleeveless dress. You will get an entirely different look altogether.
I'm all for you wearing jumpsuits if they make you happy ☺. I just don't like to wear jumpsuits to work, because I can't imagine having to practically undress to use the toilet. Am I missing something ? Lol
8:10 Wear what you love. Don't mind the critics. My eldest daughter has always had this unique, bold style. Not my style, but hers and I have always admired her confidence in wearing what makes her feel like herself. I always told my kids when we go school shopping: if you look in the mirror and it doesn't make you feel happy, it's not the thing to get. With 5 kids, we keep their and my wardrobe minimal to help with laundry. They take better care of their clothing when they are limited to a weeks worth of outfits and are expected to re-wear bottoms with different tops. The hardest thing is to convince my teens that no-one will notice you "only" have 2 pairs of jeans if you alternate them with different tops.
I love all your choices especially the jump suits and wow!!!! That black dress with the shoulder ties. A point of difference like the shoulder detail just elevates it. I was imagining your daughters picking that one as their favourite. I can remember asking my mum to wear certain dresses or shoes as a child and feeling very proud that she looked so lovely.
Do you have any capsule wardrobe videos from when you were breastfeeding? I have always loved the 10 item wardrobe but I am struggling now that my clothing needs to be highly washable and have nursing access.
You look stunning in the dark blue silk.I want to know how I can look chic, living in the Country with animals and dirt. So far it's been an epic failure,LOL
Love the outfits for this season. Your videos are always a pleasure to watch. Quick question, do you send your Lily Silk pieces out to be dry cleaned or do you hand wash them? I have been considering a couple of their pieces but I’m not sure how best to care for them.
Absolutely loved everything! I especially love the skye dress and the jumpsuits! I am currently pregnant but can’t wait to update and upgrade to similar pieces once I am outside of the transitional period. I feel a bit limited in what I can wear now but still benefit from a capsule wardrobe thanks to inspiration from you:)
While watching your video I used the CC option and was shocked at how poor the transcription was! Just in case you didn’t know and something can be done to make sure ALL can enjoy the content you work so hard to prepare. You deserve better!
The jumpsuits look so cute on you, and I think are fabulous for an active mom of 4. Going through a transitional time after knee surgery, loosing weight, and growing out my silver hair, so it is good to hear your reminder to not rush. Living in IL, but coming from CA, I am needing a warmer wardrobe. One new navy pant with a trellis pattern in a midweight, 2 cord pants from last year, and 2 new cashmere sweaters (encouraged by your use, and found at discount) are my core, with some skirts, and blouses I had, in my closet.
I ordered the Mott & Bow Mom jeans a few weeks ago and love them. I left a review giving you credit for my purchase. They are so comfortable yet hold their shape and are not oversized. I’m anxious to try a Lily Silk blouse but usually need petites in tops so I’ve hesitated. Yours look beautiful on you. Thank you for these videos!
Watching this, I feel like I don’t really understand the purpose of a capsule wardrobe. I was assuming the idea was to minimize your inventory and reduce the amount of time, energy, and money you spend on wardrobe. But with every season, it seems like you acquire way more items than you wear out. So is the purpose just to limit your daily choices?
Hey there, Jennifer has exactly 10 items, not counting formal items, coats, etc. for day to day wear. She changes them out each season (4). I have seen her repeatedly wear items until they are worn out, etc from year to year. She is buying more this year because she lost 30lbs and so most of her clothes from last year don't fit. I have found when you have a 10 item wardrobe you do tend to wear things out more quickly too because you're wearing your clothing a lot more. I have not seen her replace things that she didn't wear out, etc. I do the 10 item wardrobe and I love it! I'm a long time viewer. Hope that helps.
