I think the reason we get so much sassy stuff in F76(haven't played F4 in years..) is because a lot of girls and women play it. Turning a game into post apocalyptic sims simulator really ruins the authentic end of the world atmosphere for me.
@@Marwell0709 Girls be playing games decades before you and me were even born, and not all females are the stereotypical "girly girls" with rainbows and pink crap. Nah is not that, is just that Bethesda has a different perspective about the series.
I mean, Fallout 3 buildings, ambience and weapons were great, they maintained the original feeling (I'll even dare to say that those iconic hellenic-futuristic FO3's statues and human heads in buildings are carbon copies of FO2 ones). And boy if you think Bethesda's random encounters are "zany" you should've seen Fallout 1 and 2. My biggest issue is Fallout 4 and 76, those games do have a "worse" art direction than the rest, but in most cases is related with Beth's "idea" of Fallout. They don't conceive the series as a doomer-grimdark-STALKER like game, but rather a "good vs bad" story, they have focused too much into the main quests of FO1 and 2 (which are literally that) and not the rest of the worldbuilding. It makes sense then to have colorful things because the whole point of the devs is having a doomed world being rebuilt, Diamond City or even rusty Rivet City are a proof of that, "the world is ugly but it can get better" and all that. In a sense, Obsidian continued this trope with their post-post-war societies like NCR or New Vegas, they are way less depressing than the original factions and groups.
@@Balzasus It's not about the company. It's about who, as in the people, design the lore and world. Brian Fargo, Josh Sawyer, etc. Stop putting so much faith in companies.

Me too, i didn't get a lot of Fallout 2 vibes, except of music, idk why but i can guess some reasons for that.
