Hilariously, Me I never played Fallout 4 because I was always a mobile gamer (Nintendo and Vita, not cell phone) I don't have a steam deck. But if it comes out on the switch or switch 2 I might play it.
@@demonheart13honestly if you are a mobile gamer I think the steam deck is worth it. There is a lot you can do to customize the experience but for most things it is solid experience out of the box. The only thing I wound recommend is putting in a bigger ssd. It is fairly simple.
Fallout 4 will always have a strong hold on my heart. I liked the lore of the vaults in New Vegas and was eager for FO4 to come out (hadn’t got to look in to the older games before FO4 came out). I avoid spoilers as much as possible and I had just returned from the hospital a few days after the birth of my first son. Wanted to play a little while he was down for a nap. After the opening scene, I had to put the controller down and go hug my son
Since the GOTY editions are on sale trying to decide whether to buy for my Steamdeck or PlayStation right now. I know the next gen update is cool but being able to play a long rpg portably is also great
steam deck probably since a lot of people are having bad crash issues right now on ps5 including myself I can't even start it. apparently its the automatron dlc but thats annoying I can't use the dlc I payed for.
You forgot to mention that it is almost broken on ps5, currently. If you have the automatron dlc downloaded, the game will instantly crash. Hopefully they patch that too.
Same with me just bought all the dlc and as soon as you start up it crashes I had to redownload everything except automatron just to get it to work till they fix it
Most important ‘before you buy’ point for PS5 players currently is that you can’t start the complete game until the current-gen update releases next week, only the base version without the dlcs
Main story is pretty middling, but the other content and narratives out there are good. If only it felt more wasteland-y outside like Fallout 3 did or gave a much longer pre-nuke or vault experience, looses a lot of the vibes that the older game gave.
I’ve started Fallout 4 at least 10 times, but have never finished it. I do enjoy the gameplay and exploration, but the janky characters and story just doesn’t give me much incentive to see it through
I guess your new to owning one. You always have to download the ps5 version of any game that released for ps4 if available. Its completely different software.
@@silentnoise6404 wasn't sure if just an update to the base game or stand alone ps5 version was all I guess I downloaded the ps4 one and should a just wait till new version ps5 hahaha
@chris98614 Nah, usually with next gen update they usually mean its actually a "new game" entirely. 99% sure its always been the case. Happened with Dragonball Fighterz, Uncharted 4, etc. When they say next update it means ps5 version. Means you gotta delete ps4 and redownload ps5 version. Hold onto the save data so you can transfer it over then delete all ps4 information of the game so you dont clog it up
Returning player thanks to marketing and Amazon: "wow, Fallout is great! it's like the TV show! Glad I came back to the game!" Consistent long time player years deep in gritty mods and fan lore: "...we never left"
I was hoping that they would update the textures. I'd play a remake but I'm not playing yet another old game in 4k 60. The TV show idea is great thought, IMO. I'd never played any Halo games and the TV show got me playing the games.
Yes, but it's possible things will break, especially if you are using any mods. Specifically mods that require the script extender. Judging by the focus of the update as well, I'm willing to bet retexture mods will also break, as well as probably UI mods.
I disagree. As someone who's only recently gotten into gaming, I only really know about Fallout through the mobile game and now the tv series. Am considering buying some more games in the franchise but don't know what to expect.
All the comments saying about 9 years later😂no one think he obviously done the video with the new fallout series being out and sparking an interest for possible new players to the franchise
I think that’s the point of the comments… the game is critically acclaimed. It’s been in the spotlight numerous times. If it took a tv show to finally spark that interest then I’d like to visit the rock u call home
ughh I wish they released the next gen update alongside the show, it's made me want to replay so bad but I know as soon as it drops I'll either restart or just stop playing if I start now
What to expect from Fallout 4, if you've played past games, and somehow in all these years never played Fallout 4. * Dumbed down perk system * No skills (or skill checks) * No traits * A modular armor system * Weapon customization * A legendary item drop/effect system * Atrocious enemy health scaling at higher levels (certain enemies will straight up tank bullets/lasers/mini nukes at high level) * One of the best DLCs of the Fallout Series (Far Harbor) * A cool DLC, but tedious raider settlement system in Nuka World * I've got word of another settlement that needs our(your) help * Upgraded power armor mechanics (become a walking tank) * C Tier main game factions (They aren't all that great, but they aren't awful) * And much more.
If youre wanting to jump into fallout 4 for the first time, wait 4 more days until April 25th for the next Gen update. No sense in starting for the first time on the new gens until the update
@@RanHamyea bro dont play it yet ive owned it since 2015 booted it up today and if the dlcs are installed the game is practically broken lmao so just wait a couple days
If you like combat and dont really care for main story then fallout 4 is for you. I will say however Fallout 4 has more playtime than other fallouts. Far Harbor is an Amazing expansion. Storytelling, Setting and combat are all really good.
There was a video about 2 months ago preparing PC Folks for the update. It was a guide to prevent the game from updating by turning the game to read only. I have done this and I am prepared
I'm pretty sure the reason they aren't bundling all the creation club stuff, like they did with Skyrim, is Fallout 4' creation club has a lot of immersion breaking stuff.
I am still playing the game on xbox X. Theframerate is already buttery smooth and loading screens are practically none existent. This so-called next gen update seems pretty much pointless. The new Enclave stuff seems pretty cool but it seems like it is more of a DLC than a so-called next gen update. Unless you really care about better graphics.
Love 4 easier to play in terms of visuals, fallout 3's environment always hurt my eyes literally hard to see shit. Fallout 4 looks amazing and it's a more polished game, also only $4 or $9 on steam right now
Just tried playing Fallout 4 for the first time. Never played any of the previous games. Spent 3 or 4 hours and finding the building to be tedious. Probably not the game for me. I want to play a game with a good story that makes me give a crap about what is going on. I don’t want to be doing busy work as I already have plenty of busy work in the real world. I don’t need crap like this in my video games. The fact that people like crap like this tells me that they have desk jobs or no job at all, and certainly don’t have any chores to do around there house or apartment.
Wait till next gen update for playstation cuz they broke all the dlcs on the ps4 application when trying to boot up on ps5 literally tried to start far harbor today and everything was purple thought it was the codiene crazy music video 💀
We can only hope history will teach Bethesda to scrap the micro transactions greed dominated on mobile devices, which was that disaster of fallout 76 and give us a full standalone fallout 5.
@@HaterOfBayle For someone age 10 at the year 2015, now is the first time they start playing the game, thats why it is still in the top 10 seller on Steam after 8 years.
I really wish that fallout had gone with more of a distinct art style like Borderlands, or Dishonored. Instead of a more traditional style that looks like muddy dogshit. Hasn’t aged well at all. Probably would have helped it run better as well.
Are you guys for real? If it ain't another clickbaity Top XX list it's a Before You Buy of an 8 year old game? I know it's because the series has made the old games popular again, but still..
@@HaterOfBayle game came out years ago tho, this video was relevant then, update don't change the game a lot tbh, just adds some few free stuff and a 60fps upgrade
