Fallout 4: 5 More Strange and Rare Random Encounters You May Have Missed in The Wasteland

The best random encounter that has ever happened to me was definitely the time I found 6 dollars in the couch. Fed me for 2 days.

Nate: "Fallout 4 is a BIG world, where anything can happen, so expect the unexpected" *shows a picture of gas prices under $2* Me: *GASPS* "i never expected that"

Man, Marcus' eulogy made me tear up. Not being sarcastic, voice actor did really well. The voice cracking as he struggles to maintain a tough guy facade was a very nice touch.

The only time I found the funeral encounter I had a Deathclaw tailing me I felt kinda bad when I used the funeral as a distraction

So basically the mutant hound is a four legged Mysterious Stranger

The amount of times Nate has told me to sit back and relax, I’m nearly fused with my chair. Send help

The best random encounter I’ve had was walking through downtown Boston for four whole minutes before my XBO crashed.

Nate: Calls dog him. Player: Calls dog girl. Me: *confused.*

The most memorable moment in this game was Sparky leaping in to attack a Deathclaw that was chasing my ass, and since I couldn't fight it I just had to run while she distracted it. I have no idea if she survived, but I never saw her again.

I’ve encountered that funeral one before. I just stood there and listened to them. It was actually kind of sad in game. Especially the last guy talking it kind of got to me.

Nate: Hey hows it going guys, it's Nate here! Me: how did you get in my house?

Over 600 hours into FO4 and I never saw 1 of these... for the first time you finally got me Nate congrats

Little note about the Wounded Dog encounter since I've had it in two out of three of my playthroughs: if you have Dogmeat with you, you can't really stimpak the wounded dog. I encountered the wounded dog on my way to find Kellogg and Dogmeat just couldn't stop attacking the poor lil guy.

6:00 Didn't think I'd be watching my own funeral

On my one play trough of fo4 I heard a dog whimpering, i followed the sound and gave the poor mutt a stim and he followed me aroud, while careful of me this poor pupper still showed his gratitude to me by saving me from a pack of mole rats before he ran into the sunset. Occasionally this dog showed up to help me and sometimes to just greet me. All was great until that one day when I loaded my save and after around 45 minutes I see it, the prey I was searching for, a legendary deathclaw. I fought well, so did the beast ripping my power armor into pieces and then i hear it.. A bark. He had came, when I was in danger. Once saved by me and now again he had came for me, im sure it- he knew this was his last fight but he still had came for me this one last time. So scavenger, thank you for hearing my story I hope you have better luck on your adventures. Oh and also.. if you see a deathclaw's claw sticking out from ground near the glowing sea, can you place a can of dog food next to it for me?

I loved fallout 4 the most. Partly because I have been in Boston countless times so I recognized most of the locations that were real locations. Then the story was interesting but there were so many small details and little side stories it was great. I loved exploring and finding all those different stories.

The only random encounter I’ve had was this Mr. Handy bot talk to me thinking I was a Soviet spy.

i found some raiders walking around with a vault 81 dweller as a prisoner

I remember being chased by a deathclaw from lynnwood's and the random encounter of the people mourning happened. It was hilarious to run through them with a deathclaw and the deathclaw instantly started attacking everyone and killed everybody. They saved me though.

The preacher sounds like he's working on a few calibrations

Dude. My first play through on my own PlayStation about 20 minutes in and I got that encounter with the dead guys funeral or whatever. Wow I feel lucky

I like the nonviolent dog. When the game first came out I stumbled across 4 raiders who just collapse to the ground one with that note and food past, sadly the past isn't worth caps.

The best random encounter is Nate giving your comment a heart (which he should definitely do)

When I first encountered the funeral, I had the urge to share my mournfull cries... that sounded like the howling of a mini nuke.

I like the incredibly somber memorial service going on while some jazzy elevator music is being played in the background.

I’ve actually came across a raider version of this and the raider was instantly hostile I felt so bad about killing him

@TheEpicNate315 Waylan is also an easter egg reference to the Waylan company of the Alien series. In fact if you think about it, Waylan is killed for trying to hunt down something way stronger than he thinks it is, that's basically the Aliens movie entire premise.

I've had gruel and the dog one happen. The dog ended up staying at one of my settlements

This game is amazing. I have over 1300 hours in it and I've still not seen some of these randoms.

The Funeral encounter always get's me right here....(bangs on Hellfire/B.O.S. painted P.A over heart area)

I always loved the wasteland memorial encounter. I've only seen it once just a month or so after the game came out. I was wandering the wastes and fount them by the wreckage of a crashed plane and a pretty war millitary truck that was sunk into the ground. I thought maybe Blake had something to do with being a casualty of the surroundings but I felt really sad with the whole scene. Great encounter and I am glad someone could she'd more light on it that I might have missed

I sometimes think about how beautiful your games look and then I remember I'm on ps4

Right outside Concord there's a random encounter that takes place in a camp, it changes too. My first time, some settler was being robbed by raiders, the second time the settler was cooking and then he told me about how he's gassy. My third time, there were multiple dead bodies from both settlers and raiders with a Stunted Yao Guai guarding their bodies, or guarding it's "meal"

I never had that dog encounter. I think "gruel" is a reverence to "cook cook" from FA NV. Hunting Deathclaws also seems to be a popular hazing for newcomers in the pack, there is another encounter were a gang actually tries to take down one.

I had one playthrough where Sparky just kept showing up, over and over and over!

With the Weylin's demise encounter when I found it there was actually a deathclaw not far from the bodies

when I helped the mongrel it was instantly killed by minutemen (I did the Rader ending in Nuka world)

the wasteland memorial is my fav encounter and always will be, it just gives the whole wasteland this feel of life (ironically) that these arent just npcs these are people with their own life their own friends that still go on regardless of if you are there or not. its a simple encounter but it added so much to the game for me

i came across that wounded dog on multiple play throughs. i called him the mysterious mongrel cus he really just randomly shows up in combat almost like the stranger.

Out of this list the only one I've actually come across was the funeral. But in my own personal experience the craziest random encounter I came across happened after the BoS came to the Commonwealth. I had The Mechanist DLC and it came across a large battle of Mechanist Robots vs rust Devils vs Gunners vs the BoS. On that particular playthrough I was siding with the Institute so I had no allies in that fight.

A tiny detail in Skyrim. When Storn Crag Strider in the Dragonborn DLC is killed by Hermaeus Mora, every one of his clan will say their respects to him one by one if you don't immediately go to Apocrypha.

My current playthrough, I've gotten the Intervention Note raiders 3 times now. The 2nd time, I fast traveled back to a police station that I'd recently cleared, and immediately heard several raiders cry out in pain. I ran into the building, and there was the Intervention - they had spawned in alive, then been killed for the script.

For Weylans I never actually found his corpse but I've gotten this encounter a few times and each time there's either a glowing Deathclaw or an Albino one a few feet away

I found Weylon by myself at like level 90, so what took them out was an Alpha Deathclaw lmao

I am so hooked on this game. I only got it the other day and I can't get enough of the Wasteland

Theres a raider that buries someone outside of Corvega Assembly Plant

In regard to the first event with he pick members, I encounter this event almost every time I go out. Never have I encountered the named body Weylan, but I do find the same holotape on a random pack member. Anyone else have this issue?

Actually it is possible to find the raider event in the normal map. You may have to have had a raider base set up first and then either kill them or keep them, but I found this specifically at the garage next to the satalites you visit during the lost patrol quest. The Nuka World Raiders.

You can actually find waylin in the commonwealth too with him and his crew laying dead around a deathclaw

When I found Blake's funeral, it was on the way to leave a Deathclaw egg to its nest, the funeral was taking place 50 meters from it.

in one of my playthroughs the funeral was hard to hear over the sounds of a three way battle between raider, the brotherhood, and a mirelurk queen going on right behind them. the funeral goers lived even when a vertibird almost crashed on the gravesite.

I have hundreds of hours in FO4 and I never got that mutt one encounter. Damn habit of playing listening to music
